At this time, technology is rapidly becoming advanced to the point that hardly a day goes by when we are not engaged in some sort of interaction with technology for the main the mode of communication, information, and entertainment. On a daily basis, most high school students, teachers and administrators, engage in the use of computers or a smart device, such as a smart phone or IPad, to check Email, go online for course updates, or to complete tasks associated with online courses. For most schools and businesses, computers are used all day in some manner. The article also revealed that more than half of students have previously used digital textbooks to study at home. (Embong, 2014). Using digital textbooks can provide increased engagement for the learning process by providing advanced tools such as highlighting, word definition, and text-to-speech capabilities. Digital textbooks permits students to see lessons from a different angle since it allows addresses more learning styles. In addition, faculty could benefit greatly from using E-textbooks because many companies provide a way for them to customize the E-textbook for their course specific course, enabling them to include lecture notes, practice tests, or links to relevant websites with other pertinent information than could enhance the course material (Johnson, 2016). Furthermore, digital textbooks can significantly lighten the management process by assisting teachers to track students’ progress far more easily than other means of data collection. They allow teachers to observe classroom activities completed by each student concurrently; thereby providing a way to closely and conveniently monitor, document, as well as categorize the student data.
