1. Why do you want to be a member of Student Senate? I want to be a member of Student Senate because, while the school is in the right direction, improvements can still be made. As a freshman, I want to be able to represent my peers in a positive way. I recognize the importance of the Student Senate, and will put in my best efforts. Freshmen can get swept under the rug, and I believe I could give them a voice. I want to participate in the bettering of this school, and really try to make a difference. I have the desire to be involved, and make decisions that will benefit the school as a whole. I am a hardworking and dedicated individual that will persevere to accomplish any task. I am a creative thinker that is quick on her feet, which I think will help if any plans we create happen to run into a pitfall. In addition, by being a member of Junior Class Cabinet this year, I have learned the expectations and freedoms that are placed on cabinet members, as well as an understanding of what meetings may consist of. In addition, I learned the process of collectively working together in a group to come to decisions and how different people bring different points of view on an issue, which collectively plays a role in the team. The purpose of this letter is to inform you about my interest in becoming a member of The Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I sought out membership because the members exemplify the epitome of class, grace, and standards. My desire is to inspire young girls and women and make a significant impact on their lives is just one of many reasons I aspire to join your great sorority. Why do you want to go to Asmsa? Why leave home for this school? Is it even the right place for you? All of these questions I have heard be asked before, by my parents, my friends, even I ask myself if this is the right choice, but every time I hear it, I have the answer ready. Of course Asmsa is the right place for me, not only is the school I’ve looked forward to going to since the 7th grade, It is the type of school I’ve always needed to put me in the mindset for learning. The school is a community of learners and full of people who want to achieve, to do more than just graduate, to be more than just valedictorian, and to ask the questions that most wouldn't even care about. As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
I have maintained a 4.35 weighted GPA throughout my four years at Payette High School, while taking and succeeding in the most challenging classes offered, such as Honors Calculus, D.C. Chemistry 111, D.C. English 4, and Physics. I have been awarded with the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, and Payette’s parade of champion honor all four years (For having above a 4.0 GPA). My proudest accomplishments though have come through my club, sport, and community service involvement. The activity that had the most impact on was participating in The American Legion Gem Boys State program over the summer of 2017. I learned a great amount about the procedures and role of politics in this country, and it spiked my interest in political science. I am the current Senior Class President of Payette High School, and have been in student council every year since 6th grade, and I am thankful that my classmates have trusted me enough over the years to elect me for this honor. I am involved with the Payette DECA chapter, which competes in competitions based around business management, finance, and marketing skills. I am the chapter treasurer, and have placed in the top seven at the state competition twice. I have also been involved in the clubs FFA and International club. I participate greatly in my

As a student in Greater Lawrence Technical school my ultimate goal was to become a member of National Honors Society. From the very start I knew I had the potential to become who I wanted to be. Being seen as a person who can be National honors society member has made me so happy and realize I can really go for more in life! They sky's the limit. I always had honor roll and wanted to push myself for more than what I knew I could do. I asked teachers and guidance counselors how to get into NHS and if they believed I was eligible for National Honor Society. They said with your outstanding character, motivation and dedication to help others is how!
The Student Government Association is a very important organization that makes a large impact on Willard High School. I would like to be a part of changing and improving how the school operates and is organized. I believe that being a part of SGA will be very beneficial in many aspects, including helping me learn how to be more confident in any future position and become a better leader. Each year, the members of this group have been in charge of bettering everyone’s experience and I qualify in aiding them in the upcoming year.
I believe that I would be a good representative for the National Junior Honor Society because I have great ideas and I am focused on making our community a better place. If I become a member I intend on holding fundraisers that can help people and animals who are in need. I think that holding campaigns for those less fortunate is very important because not only does it engage the public, but also it could be life changing for those in need. I also feel I would make a good representative because I am a straight A student and I am a hard worker. I work hard for what I want and I will not let anything get in my way. In my opinion, to be a member of the NJHS, one must possess certain qualities such as compassion, kindness, dedication, and motivation to make the world a better place, and I indeed have those qualities.
I believe I have demonstrated the qualities to be a member of the National Honor Society because I want to be able to show people that I am a good citizen, leader and that I have a good judge of character. I am in key club because I have always liked to help around the community, but never got too many chances, with key club I get a lot of opportunities and I love it. I have also worked at the Hocking Hills Diner for the past two years. While working, I do not only run the cash register and seat people but I also make sure things run smoothly. I make sure my servers are doing what they need to and that all the customers are happy. If something is wrong, it is my job to fix it. “Who’s going to step up?”. “Who’s going to change this?”. People ask these questions everyday. I realize that I have never truly thought about the defining characteristics of a leader. I was given a list of qualities and upon reading it, I proudly realized that I demonstrate leadership. But the important consideration should not be how I successfully match this definition, but instead why I do it. I was elected treasurer for the class of 2016, a student body elected official, and hold that position of responsibility by attending meetings weekly, promoting school activities (such as homecoming), and participating in student council planning and events as much as possible. I wanted to become treasurer because I wanted a say in decisions that impacted our class. I wanted to be recognized as an individual that my peers could come to with questions and concerns.
To be the representative for North Dakota’s ASCLS would be of great honor. Over the course of my life I have always attempted to have a strong work ethic, be a trustworthy person, and to be reliable in everything I do. Up to this point, I feel like I have done an excellent job of being true to myself and feel like I have caused others to adopt a better way of living. Now that I am entering the laboratory profession, I feel like it’s time for me to step up and be more of a leader and to do this being a ASCLS representative would be a perfect start. This is since I feel like I am the best candidate to do so and fit the criteria needed to represent ASCLS.
Being elected to be a member of the National Honor Society is a privilege to me because I am a hardworking, dedicated student. By having an excelling performance of character, scholarship, leadership, and service, I can guarantee that my participation can help others and myself overcome barriers that may limit success by encouragement and support.
I want to be able to provide guidance and support, as well as fun opportunities such as the Freshmen Flotilla and Bedtime Stories, in order to foster a sense of community amongst students and faculty. I have noticed that many of my friends that I lived with the Honors dorm who moved to live off campus have become disconnected with the community of the Honors College, and I would love to make an impact by keeping older students involved.
