Why do I want to go to Fit, well that is a million dollar question and I finally am able to answer it. Well most kids my age will be graduating this coming May, I am starting all over again as a transfer student studying a future career in unchartered territory. When I was younger I was never really given the opportunity to voice my opinion being that I was the youngest in my family. I always did what I was told to do and never did what I wanted to do. It took me what seem to be ages in my perspective to figure out what I actually wanted to do in life as a career. From the time I was a junior at W.T. Clarke High School I attended Joseph M. Barry Tech Boces and received a certificate for Video and Filmmaking. Once I graduated I attended Five …show more content…
As a film major you style what the actor or actress is going to wear and look like. I finally found out the million-dollar question I had for myself. I want to be a merchandise manager for a major retail company such as American Eagle a job where I am currently training to be a stylist and Jeans Expert. From the moment my hiring manager hired me she automatically saw a spark and leadership qualities in me. Usually at major retail stores like American Eagle you start from the bottom of the totem poll as a regular associate to learn the ropes. Me having been in retail for about 5 years now I have always voiced my opinion on what customers wanted to where at a lousy $10.00 per hour. One day I was speaking to my sister and her boyfriend who are graduates from Fit. My sister, who graduated with her BFA majoring in Packaging Design encouraged me to apply to FIT due to the fact that I love fashion. I may not be the artistic type but I consider myself as a visionary. Whenever I am walking around in New York City with my girlfriend I always critique what people are wearing and what I feel they should be

I want to be in ASB because I think that this is a great opportunity for me to practice my leadership skills to help all students at Medea Creek. I enjoy helping people and working with others and I know that ASB is a wonderful chance for me to do so. I know that our school should have voices that help others who cannot speak up for themselves and I will help them raise their voices in school. I want to be part of ASB because I think that this can help me mature, and also help achieve my goal for life, which is becoming the president of the U.S. I believe that ASB is a unique opportunity to help me become a game-changer in our school and community. ASB students make changes in their community every day. I think that that is an amazing thing, getting to impact your community every single day.

Becoming a retail buyer is something I have thought lots about in the last few years. I’m almost sure this exactly what I want to become after I graduate high school and go into college. I absolutely love shopping and to be a shopper as a career and pick out different styles for stores, would be amazing.
Headed off to college, I thought I knew what I wanted. I thought the school I chose would be the school I would find my major in, a niche with best friends, and the four year experience I would fall in love with. As a senior in high school, I had no idea what I wanted to go to school for, but I knew I would continue my volleyball career, so I looked for a school that would fit that and all other criteria for my ideal school, and I would find the purpose of my schooling as I went. I started my freshman year of college optimistic about all the opportunities and simply of all the newness college would bring for me, as any freshman is. I began the
Going to college is something that has been drilled into my brain by the public education system since I was in first grade. They obviously did a phenomenal job because here I am, a high school senior, applying to various colleges and universities trying to find the right fit. There are many reasons why I want to go to college, but there is one reason above all others, and that is that I want to be able to share my passion of music with others in hopes of sparking a similar passion inside of them.
“A good education is a foundation for a better future.” ~ Elizabeth Warren. The reasoning behind why I want to go to college is to better my future. I am considered one of the first generation in my family to go to college, putting a lot of meaning behind why I believe I should go on to a different path. From a very young age I have always held high expectations of myself, even of the numerous changes in careers I had obtained an interest in. I have always envisioned myself going to college because I certainly value education. I believe that the more education I receive, the more valuable I am to this generation of the work force. Not only does my passion of learning hold place in the reasoning behind why I want to go to college, but because of my role models growing up. My parents both encourage me on a daily basis to go to college, and have encouraged my initiative to seek more in life. My father once explained that he once had this opportunity to receive a free ride to college but decided to stay home and start a family. He of course never looked back or regretted his decision because if not I wouldn 't be here today, but he encouraged me to take on these amazing offers and
I would like to study being a cosmetologist because it is a very intermediate and interesting career. I find this career interesting because I love to do hair and I love changing my hair style all the time. I feel as though I like to express my self through hair and I could expand expressing through doing other people’s hair. I think that you could almost tell someone’s personality by looking at their hair style.
My ultimate career goal is to be a general human resource manager or recruiter for a high-tech or pharmaceutical company. These are industries in which I foresee great potential for growth in the future. I enjoy every aspect of my major, and I look forward to the variety of tasks and obstacles I will face as an H.R. manager. The prospect of interacting with people on a daily basis appeals to me immensely in a job.
College is advanced education that everyone should have, including those who cannot financially afford it. People who want to go to college will find a way to make it happen despite their financial state. It is not necessary to make college free. By doing this, arguments of inequality and disagreements will arise, and although the thought of free college means well, is it really the way we want to change the college system?
From the moment I starting my educational path I knew four years wouldn’t be enough to fill me with all the dimensions of the fashion industry. This led me to make my decision to apply for the M.S. Global Fashion Enterprise degree. When asked how this program at Philadelphia University would benefit me, I will begin by giving a background on my previous education. I started my undergraduate degree at Buffalo State College in upstate New York pursuing a Bachelor degree in Fashion Merchandising. After being in the program for a year I was confident in knowing I needed a change. My journey changed drastically when I moved down to sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I transferred to the Art Institute under the same major. I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising come this June 2014. My experience at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale has uncovered my love of education and research.
As I entered high school the pressure to succeed and live up to my parent’s expectations increased. I joined clubs that my parents approved of, I took classes that would look good on my transcript, and I studied 24/7 to keep a good GPA. Seeing the people around me happy and proud of me was a good feeling. I stayed up all night just so I could study and get good grades that would make my family and teachers proud. Junior year I never got more than four hours of sleep a night. I was a zombie just going through the motions of life. As I began to look for colleges, the pressure to be #1 grew. My parents took me on countless college tours, thirty seven to be exact, in order to find the “right school for me.” My parents drove me around the country visiting tons of top engineering schools. Occasionally we would visit schools I wanted to visit. But every visit went the same. If my parents chose the school they smiled the whole tour and spent the car ride home talking about how great it was. If it was a school I chose

Fashion is a controversial issue in society nowadays. We live in a consumerism advanced era in which whether following fashion trends or not has become a debatable point. Many people believe that it is important to follow fashion trends. For example, Lord Chesterfield once said, “If you are not in fashion, you are nobody.” The question is why fashion should be an essential matter of concern to all of us. As far as I am concerned, each person should be able to decide if one wants to follow a trend or not.
