I want to attend the US Naval Academy because I have always admired the midshipmen’s loyalty, responsibility, and bravery they are able to show after graduating. I believe the US Naval Academy has these three important values and I know if I get into the academy, I can fully grow into these values and proudly serve our country. None of my family members went to the Naval Academy or the Navy so many people ask me what makes me want to join the Academy. I believe that it is my obligation as a physically capable person to give back and thank those who are risking their lives to make sure that I am safe at home with my family.
When I was younger, I always wanted to be different from the rest. I wanted to do something greater, something that not
Some of us can be slaves to society, but still there are some others that will see beyond it to reach for what they want. People will do anything to fulfill their dreams. They will travel great distances or change their whole lifestyles to succeed. But not everyone prevails. In the end, it's the people that guide themselves and are not controlled by others. The best days may be the first to flee, but dreams live on forever (174).
Meeting these heroes is what motivated me to apply. These brave warriors offered the ultimate sacrifice for their country. They became the best of the best. They became my role models and my idols. As I held my saber high above their heads, I realized what I wanted to do with my life; I want to be an aid to those in need while being the best I can be. I don’t want to be a hero. I just want to help find justice and peace in this world. I realized that day that the best way to do this would be to join the military. My original plan was to enlist, but I also want to go to college and continue to learn and better myself. Therefore, I made the biggest decision of my life. I decided to apply to the United States Military Academy. I decided to apply to stand side by side with some of the smartest, bravest, and toughest heroes America has to offer. The graduates of the United States Military are considered the best of the best which is what I wish to
My initial reason to enter the Air Force was a great way to pay for college which turned into a call of duty and a service commitment which has actively allowed me to contribute to the Air Force mission. Thus far I have led a joint force search and rescue effort and a multinational exercise to preserve freedom. As an F-15E instructor WSO and combat mission ready WSO I actively contribute to ensure our freedoms are preserved and the attacks of September 11, 2001 will never happen again.
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
The United States Marine Corps is a Branch of the U.S. Military that specializes in Aquatic warfare. That means that they are trained to fight from land to sea. They are one of the oldest Branches of the U.S. Military which dates back to November 10 1775 in a tavern named Tun Tavern in Philadelphia. They have been in every major affair in American history from the Revolutionary war to the now and upcoming events in the middle east.
I want to be in ASB because I think that this is a great opportunity for me to practice my leadership skills to help all students at Medea Creek. I enjoy helping people and working with others and I know that ASB is a wonderful chance for me to do so. I know that our school should have voices that help others who cannot speak up for themselves and I will help them raise their voices in school. I want to be part of ASB because I think that this can help me mature, and also help achieve my goal for life, which is becoming the president of the U.S. I believe that ASB is a unique opportunity to help me become a game-changer in our school and community. ASB students make changes in their community every day. I think that that is an amazing thing, getting to impact your community every single day.
I want to go to college for the wholesome intellectual stimulation and to get more involved with my community. College will be my last opportunity to do so before I enter the work force. At college I can be intellectually and academically challenged; I will be able to learn with friends who are as dedicated to learning and the pursuit of knowledge as I am. My goals in college are to acquire the skills that I need to lead a successful and productive life, to expand my knowledge of the world, to step out of my comfort zone, and to become more proactive.
Our parents keep telling us kids that we could do anything. So in retrospect, I want to do everything. It was the limitations I have, as a girl that nagged me constantly that I couldn’t. It was in the middle of mid midlife crisis that I flipped upon a book that I did not understand the meaning of. Richard Siken’s “Bird Hover the Trampled Field,” and there it was
I should be inducted into National Honor Society because I have proven that I am a dedicated, scholarly student. My GPA shows that I am determined to succeed both in school and in life. I feel that I am an incredibly hard worker and I believe that education is important and desrves to be a top priority. If inducted, I will represent the Jean Baptiste Recollect branch of National Honor Society very well. National Honor Society should induct me into the Jean Baptiste Recollect branch becasue I am hard working, dedicated, and determined to have success.
Ever since I was a little girl watching the Peony Parade I looked up to the girls who participated in the Peony Pageant. I always told myself after watching that I wanted to be one of the girls who participated in the Peony Pageant, even if I made it or not, just auditioning means that I gave it a chance. I want to be one of the girls that the younger generation looks up to, like I looked up to the girls in the past years. I was always told growing up that I could do anything I put my mind to and this is one of many things I want to achieve.
Shortly before graduating high school I began talking to a recruiter and from our discussions developed further reasons for wanting to join the Air Force. I wanted to have a specific purpose, not just a job. I wanted to belong to something bigger. Joining the Air Force gave my life direction, purpose, and motivation to achieve my goals.
Most children seem to have ideas of what they would like to be when they grow up. The average person walking into any kindergarten class today would find future teachers, lawyers, doctors, nurses, astronauts, firefighters, and ballerinas; the list is endless. I never had the chance to even dream about what I wanted to be when I grew up and was given little chance to develop my own tastes and ideas towards this goal. I spent my childhood trying to be the good example to my younger brother and sister that my father demanded in his letters. All the while I was hoping and praying that my mother and father would get back together. The only thing I knew was being a mom and that is what I thought I wanted to be.
The most generic reason is for the money. I am not going to pretend that money is not one of the reasons I want to be an officer in the Army. However, this is not the first reason I wanted to join. In high school, I did not know the difference between enlisted soldiers and officers but I did know I wanted to go to college and in conjunction join the Army. I planned on going to college to become a clinical psychologist. I knew that soldiers suffered from PTSD and emotional disorders from war so post-doctoral degree I wanted to help soldiers with the disorders they developed from war. Another reason I want to become an Army officer is because I plan on giving back to my country. Many individuals complain about the U.S. but I love my country. I appreciate all that the veterans have done to get our country this far and I would like to repay my respects. The two biggest reasons I want to become an Army Officer are the experience and making a difference. To become a better leader we have to do the unusual and things that not many will and can do. Being in the armed forces is one of those unusual occurrences. The army can teach you many things not only about yourself but also how to deal with others in all parts of the world. I claimed many years ago that I was going to change the world. I may not change the whole world but I will change someone’s world. I want the knowledge I gain from the Army to help me make a difference
That is to realize that we are all uniquely different and that it is a blessing to be different. To be
the good things I wanted to do with my life and the ambitions I had, I
