Introduction
The Executive Potential Program (EPP) is a 12-month national leadership development program that provides developmental and training experiences to individuals aspiring to move into executive leadership positions (Graduate School USA, 2017). I enrolled in this program so as to strengthen my leadership skills as I position myself to pursue executive leadership positions within the federal service. Reflection is an important part of learning as it helps identify the changes that might need to be made to foster success and sustainability (Tarrant, 2013). In line with this thought train, I hereby reflect on important aspects of my journey through the Executive Potential Program.
Key Learnings from the Program My journey through the Executive Potential Program has been a valuable experience. Among the important concepts that I was exposed to and managed to internalize include leading change, leading people, managing results, establishing a business acumen, and building productive coalitions. Leadership is all about leading people. Leadership is essentially a process through which a leader influences those around him to deliberately follow his directions.
