In conclusion, in this paper, I achieved my objective of describing the outline of my professional career action plan. I did that by describing my professional goals, the job that I planned to have in health care sector, the skills for the job that I possess and those I need to change, the plan of achieving my already set professional goals, the professional organizations that could help me to achieve my goals, and the overall benefits of my career action plan outline. Hence, it is clear from the discussion that if people desire and have that deep drive to achieve lifetime goals and their dream career professions, they need to concentrate on formulating a reliable career action plan, which will aid them in shaping their set career goals. Additionally, the career action plan can enable such individuals to concentrate on important aspects of their career, rather than wasting time on other lifetime events. In a nutshell, such an action plan is the key to fulfillment of goals in life. Since I was a child, I dreamt of becoming the person who gives back to my community. Therefore, when I completed my high school education, I knew exactly which career subject to pursue in college. When I finally enrolled in college, I decided to set up professional career jobs to ensure that in the near future, I would land on my dream career. As of now, my …show more content…
In fact, the whole aspect of living is to satisfy a given need, be it a basic human want, a given luxurious lifestyle, a professional career, a particular social status, or financial or political prowess. They all sum up to either short-term or long-term goals. Therefore, it is important to note that the whole life of a given individual constitutes only goals. That is why education is important in the modern society, because it serves the sole purpose of equipping the young generation with knowledge and skills of formulating viable goals in life (Bonczek & Woodard,
The following career I have chosen describes who I am, where I want to go, and what I want to accomplish in the near future.
After brainstorming and finishing Bolles’ questions, I discovered that my ideal career would be in a small organization, where the coworkers collaborate closely; it would be in a city with a sizeable population of people my age, where craft products and small businesses flourish. Likewise, the organization would be focused on providing a service that gives back to those in the community, hopefully combatting the cycle of poverty. In the organization, I would like to be coordinating people or events, and doing other behind-the-scenes duties that keep the whole place running.
As a kid, I recall my parents and many relatives frequently asking, "What do you want to be when you grow up?", and without hesitation, I would think of the coolest occupations. My answers would usually comprise of being a cop, nurse, astronaut or the President of the Untied States. It was difficult to pick one, as there were numerous jobs that held my interest. For some individuals, dream occupations turn into a reality. Often times, the professions we loved growing up becomes a fun memory in the past. Throughout my childhood, my parents valued the significance and importance of regarding and helping other people. Before attending college, I was uncertain of my career plan, however; was one thing I was sure of was: the longing to help, to teach, and/or to positively affect others.
Growing up I struggled with the constant question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” With so many different career paths to choose from, it’s hard to become overwhelmed. As college gradually tiptoed in on me, I began to feel like I would never find the profession right for me. The few things that I did know I wanted in my future career were very simple to me. They were a job in the healthcare world where I could go home each night knowing I made a difference in someone’s life. A job that wasn’t just following a routine everyday but required creativity and brought new challenges while working with a diverse population.

Volunteering made me find my career plan in sociology / Social Worker. With a college degree in one of these areas, I hope to impact my community in ways. First, with the knowledge from college, I hope to counsel with young people& adults. In today's society, there are so many negative things that influence adults & young people. I want to help them understand the importance of setting goals and striving to become great citizens. I also want to give them a sense of hope that with perseverance, they can become great role models for other adults &young people by
We have all had that fateful question thrust upon us at some point in our life- “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Few realize the true magnitude of that question at such an early age. Truly, the reason for that is due to the fact that no one, at this point in life, interprets the question for what it truly means. “What do you want to learn in college? What path will you choose? What do you want to become and spend forty years, more or less, doing with your life?” Needless to say, it is anything but a minor decision. Picking a career is one of the most important choices an individual can make in life. It is extremely difficult to find a profession that provides a substantial source of income and satisfaction at the same time. Thus, my answer to that age-old question has been up for debate in my mind for a long time. Although the debate is ongoing, I have narrowed the field of choices somewhat. The careers that I am interested in are three very contrasting careers: A physical/occupational therapist, a multimedia artist/animator, and a college theology professor.
My Career The career field I chose is to be a firefighter. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because they help people and prevent fires from spreading. I’ve always wanted to help people everywhere, because I don’t like it whenever there is an accident and some people die and lose their loved ones, people talking crap about them and just talking and pointing the cameras in their face watching them cry. I want to help people and make a difference and help protect people’s lives, and be someone people recognize when I walk by them.
The healthcare field is ripe with opportunities, and the rapid growth extends beyond medical professionals. For an individual considering a career in the healthcare industry they have to set and accomplish goals which are important aspects of life-changing. Careers often successful begin through the education that suitable to support individual professional goals. An individual should establish an action plan that consists of professional goals which used to influence decisions in the chosen career, skills required, and skills to improve, the ultimate plan, an organization that offers valuable insight, and what strategies used to make these goals evident.
My personal mission is to improve people’s lives through medicine and care and make world a healthier place by using my skills and coming up with innovative ideas to manage healthcare organizations. There are two goals which need to be accomplished: One is the short term goal which is to be accomplished in a short period, say a year or few months. My short term career objective is to complete my Masters degree in Administrative Science with good grades which will reflect in my resume. Second is the long term goal: what I want to do in the next 5 years and where I want to be at the end of the fifth year by effectively shaping my future in an organization. My objective is to be a Healthcare Services Administrator of a healthcare organization such as hospital or public health department. My degree of Administrative Science with specialization in Global Health and Human Services will help me to develop skills to manage a healthcare facility effectively and efficiently, as well as my human resources skills will help me manage and work with people. This will guide me to achi...
Coming to the point of my current career choice has been a long road. My idea of what a career is or should be has changed with circumstances and age. According to Weintraub (2005), “the average worker spends only four years in a job and will have 12 jobs in as many as five career fields during his or her working life.” (para. 1) My first career was marriage and motherhood followed by a surprising healthcare career. What the future holds waits to be seen. With a bachelor of science degree in information technology the options are wide open.
Suppose one was to record their pleasures down on paper using a graph. At first, one might be confused as to how to go about quantifying their happiness. After consideration of the quality of ones varying pleasures though, one is more able to deduce whether it is a higher or a lower pleasure and graph them. This enables one to distinguish which things promote the greatest pleasure, which translates itself to strive for happiness. For example, consider the attainment of food or sex in contrast to mental and spiritual growth. When one is only interested in satiating their appetite for food or sex, the pleasure acquired is minuscule when compared to the acquisition of mental and spiritual growth. Thus, attaining mental and spiritual growth will bring o...
