In life, there is always at least one moment we are called upon to “step up to the plate” and be a leader. This is not always easy, though. We may struggle with this calling because what we are being asked to day may be difficult for us to swallow. We might even fail at what is being asked of us to do at times. Some things we are called upon to do may be of far greater importance than others. In reference to baseball, being called upon by your coach to “take one for the team” by sacrificing yourself on the base paths to score your teammate is not extremely important in the grand scheme of life. On the other hand, being called upon by the Almighty one to lead many to know who He is, now that is a situation to step up to that plate and knock it out of the park. After this they proceed to Athens due to a sign from God and then to Coron. While in Athens Paul debates with Stoic and Epicurean philosophers. He also goes to Areopagus meaning Mars Hill (Ares is god of war, and pagus is hill). This is where he tells the story of Jesus and his resurrection. The Athenians think that Paul is speaking of some strange deity because he keeps saying Anastasia which means resurrection. The Athenians thought that this meant wife, though. Paul then proceeded to explain to them that he meant that someday all our bodies will also be resurrected like Jesus’ was. The Athenians think that Paul is mad and ask him to remove himself from the city. Due to this a church is never established in Athens. The men then travel to Ephesus, to Rhodes, and then finally end their journey in Caesarea. Caesarea was not the end of God’s will for the men, though. He had more instore for them.
