Diet Soda’s
Often when people go on a diet they automatically assume drinking a diet soda is a good option then drinking a regular soda. However, diet sodas are worse for people then what they make it seem. They pull everyone into the thought of it being better so they can make money off it. It has more calories, sugar, etc., because of the artificial sweeteners. So what the producers say about their product is mostly lies. Due to the negative affects of diet sodas people should not drink them.
In diet sodas there are almost twice the amount of artificial sweeteners then any other drink. All diet sodas have more intense artificial sweeteners, which dulls are senses thinking its like fruit so we don’t see the junk that is going into our body’s.

Artificial sweeteners are harder on a human body then regular sugar, in the large amount such as in diet sodas. All sodas have artificial sweeteners, but diet tends to have the most. So in all, artificial sweeteners are just a start to the some of the horrible ingredients that come from diet sodas. So this will bring me to my next reason; it helps people gain weight not loss it. Diet sodas tend to help people gain weight then lose weight like people what to. During the day drinking diet sodas can lead people to eating more junk foods, which will help someone gain more weight. The artificial sweeteners also make peoples taste buds to want more sweets, because sweets are also high in fat and sugar it will lead to weight gained not lost. Artificial sweeteners also produce insulin that will put our bodies into fat storage mood that will store the fat that goes into our bodies. So if someone one of the many people who drink diet sodas to lose fat I would go run in stead or grab a glass of water, after all its way healthier for you. This will bring me to my final reason of it gives you a greater chance of health risks. So instead of diet sodas being better for everyone they actually gives people greater chances of health risks.
All diet sodas increased risks of metabolic syndrome and diabetes because of the high amounts of artificial sweeteners and other ingredients. They help lowers our metabolism that could give us less energy in our bodies which could end up making people sick. Diet sodas also produce high amount of phosphate that help weaken bones and muscles inside our bodies that could lead to injuries. Since high amounts of sodium and caffeine lead to dehydration, which could lead to dizziness, or someone’s body to collapse because of the lack of water. So diet pops aren’t the best drink in the world for our health and this is why diet sodas should not be sold nor drank.
So diet sodas are not the best soda in the world for you and these are some of the reasons I gave. Number one is because it has to many artificial sweeteners, which hurts our bodies not help them. Number two is it helps us gain more weight, instead of losing it. Last but not least, it gives people a greater risk of diseases and health risks. So although that diet soda seems good to drink just remember all the negative things that come from diet sodas and have a glass of water
instead.
Of course, in order to get that delicious, savory, great taste that dr Pepper has, there are main ingredients that play a very big role. Dr Pepper contains seven main ingredients. Those ingredients are carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, phosphoric acid, natural and artificial flavors, sodium benzoate, and caffeine. In diet Dr Pepper the same ingredients remain besides the fact that the high fructose corn syrup is changed to aspartame (Reference,
Coke continuously out-stands Pepsi, even though they share a very similar taste and colour, however Coke should not be the drink that receives all the love and attention for what it offers. Despite their similar soda colour, the drinks actually contain some different ingredients, which produce a different taste, and affect the body differently. Furthermore, the way the companies markets their drinks makes a huge contribution to how successful their products will become. The major element for success however stems from their impact on society and how the companies utilize their social power to evolve. The two major soda companies are constantly head to head with one another, yet it is what they do that sets them apart.
According to The World Health Organization, “Obesity is the imbalance between declining energy expenditure due to physical inactivity and high energy in the diet (excess calories whether from sugar, starches or fat) …. Increasing physical activity, in addition to reducing intakes of food high in fat and foods and drinks high in sugars, can prevent unhealthy weight gain” (Who). The World Health Organization has recognized that soda and other sugary drinks a...
In the past couple years people all around the nation, whether it's in New York City or an 8th Grade classroom in Michigan, people have been pressed with the question, whether the New York Soda Ban, is a good thing, improving health, or if there is a larger issue. Is this decision showing evidence of the Government interfering with our basic civil liberties?
First, the main ingredients in diet soda, and why they are so harmful. The main ingredients that are in diet soda are aspartame and saccharin. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener, and it is a protein produced from aspartic acid. Aspartame is used in any different foods and drinks because it is about 200 times sweeter than sugar, so that means much less of it can be used to give the same amount of sweetness. When aspartame is digested, it breaks down into aspartic acid, phenylalanine and methanol. These components are also used in a selection of foods such as milk, meat, dried beans, fruits and vegetables, but much greater amounts are used in diet soda. Another reason Aspartame is terrible for you is that when Aspartame gets to a certain temperature it is known as rat poison. Also, 10% of aspartame is made up of methyl ester bond which includes methanol. After a few hours of ingesting aspartame, this methanol is released from the aspartame and begins roaming through the body through the blood. After the methyl ester is unglued it separates into wood alcohol. The conflict with this methanol is that it easily passes through your blood-...
Olga Bautista is a mother of two, she’s a Chicago resident and another problem has just been added to her list, one she can’t do anything about by herself. Her daughter attends elementary school along with nine-hundred other children and the school is being polluted by a dust that is full of heavy metals, petcoke. This dust is being stored only half a mile from the school and Bautista’s home. She along with Suzanna Gomez and many other South Chicago residents fear for their health and their families’ health “she worries about one of her sons, who’s asthmatic, but doesn’t have the money to move” (Webber, 1)
There are plenty of sugary soft drinks in the market today. Sugary soft drinks are included as drinks defined by the US Department of Agriculture and the US Department of Health and Human Services in their Dietary Guidelines for Americans as “sugar-sweetened beverages” that contain different types of sugars that contribute calories. Examples of these are lemonade, sports drinks, energy drinks, carbonated sodas and sweetened teas and coffees (Marrow,2011).
The article, Soda Consumption Does Not Equal Obesity, states that soda is not the only reason people are obese. When people are more active, they are less likely to have an obesity-related illness. Being active plays an important role because people are constantly burning fat, which makes it less likely for them to be overweight or obese. Economists from Emory University declare that soft drinks do not have a big impact on weight. The reason is that when untaxed, soft drinks only represent 7% of a soda drinker’s calorie intake.

Water makes up 75% of human body. It is the most important ingredient in our bodies. Today many people ignore drinking water and concentrate more into the carbonated drinks. One of the main reasons I would think people drink more carbonated drinks (such as sodas and sport drinks) is because of the way a company hype up their products and use their marketing strategies to influence people into buying them. Many benefits come out of drinking water. First, it quenches one’s thirst much better than any carbonated drinks. Second, it keeps one’s skin clear and healthy looking. In addition, it protects the human body from several diseases. Many people choose drinking sodas and sports drinks than water because water does not have much of a taste and carbonated drinks are flavored and tasteful. I guess I am one of those people who has being caught on to the hype of the soda companies. I do not really drink much water I would say I barely drink two cups a day, but I know the how good water is for my body. So I am modifying my behavior by adding more water to my diet.
Regular soda is a drink that contains lots of sugar, man-made chemicals, and no nutritional value. An article states that “The calories in regular soda are coming entirely from added sugar, and you're not getting any value in terms of vitamins or minerals, or even good quality carbohydrate” (McMillian). This shows
Soda is such a bad aspect to your daily health because of many reasons. Soda does not contain any essential nutrients needed for a healthy diet, just sugar. Soda is full of empty calories, it does not contain any vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, or fiber. It adds nothing to your diet except excessive amounts of added sugar and unnecessary calories.
Mary Barra was named Gm CEO in 2014; she was the company’s first female CEO. Mary worked as an electrical engineer and employed with GM for 30 years. Her leadership style and skill were praised by the press. “After Barra reached her two-month mark, however, the news hit that General Motors had put over 1.7 million cars on the road with an ignition switch defect that was responsible for more than a dozen deaths”(CEO.com Staff, 2014). I’m sure this had stakeholders and the public wondering what initiatives Barra would take, she’s only been a CEO for two months.
It can change other’s health, decision making, and even their wealth. Richards writes, “... the health impacts of diet soda are linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease”. Your health decisions could start a precedent for others around you to follow your diet habits. Others may start eating bad and end up with the same health conditions as you if not worse. The illnesses that a bad diet can cause could be costly which can hit you and friends and family who may support you. This will also lead to an effect on the economy because they have to pay for your potential healthcare. By changing one thing, your sugar intake, you could benefit so many
Have you ever thought how much soda you consume and how bad it can be for you? Many people will drink soda instead of water, simply because it tastes better. The government should limit the intake of sugary beverages because it can lead to many different problems such as heart disease, obesity, and overall it is an unhealthy life-style. “The average person consumes almost 100lbs of sugar a year, with the single biggest source being soda.” A sugary beverage occasionally would be ok, but drinking it every day would cause problems for you overtime. People drink, more soda than they do water. People should be consuming at least eight 8-ounce glasses a day. Mostly no one will drink that amount of water a day. In today’s society, it can be easy to grab a soda for one dollar and carry on. They may taste better but they are not better for your health. “Sugary drinks include soda, fruit punch, lemonade, and other “aides” sweetened powdered drinks, and sports energy drinks.”
