Background Information
I have always been both enthusiastic and passionately interested in science, particularly research in biomedicine. I find science to be rather admirable, in how it can fascinate one’s curiosities and provide reasoning behind them; and ultimately help mankind. Having completed a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences, accredited by the IBMS, I wish to pursue a career in biomedical science. One thing which I particularly enjoy about the practical side of science is the methodical and organised nature involved.
The NHS is a major organisation and a reputable employer, having a long-standing reputation for being committed to their employees offering support and providing high-quality training for career development. The NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is integral service within the NHS collecting around 2 million units of blood and tissue per year and converting theses into blood and tissue products for the treatments of patients in life-saving and life-improving situations. The NHSBT’s work helps to save and/or

I enjoy IT and I am currently partaking in an online coding course during my spare time.
Additionally, I have past experience in data entry from both the royal mail and current job.
Communication and Presentation
I have excellent communication and presentation skills, whether they are verbal or written. For example, whilst at both university and college, I was a student representative. As a student representative, I communicated with fellow students to collect their concerns, views and suggestions for change(s) to the course and/or the way which it was running. I then presented their views for change to a committee of academic/programme staff.
Additionally, currently working a contact centre as an advisor, taking calls for several contracts, has allowed me to further develop my communication skills.
Interpersonal and Team
However, I have learned to improve my communication skills and relationships through communication courses. Prior to enrolling in communication
Leadership, Character, Service, Citizenship. When I think of the NHS, leadership, character, community, and role modeling are all things that come to mind. Being a part of the National Honor Society will help me do just that. I have worked hard for outstanding grades, citizenship, and becoming a leader and role model for other classmates.
2.3 Explain how the health and social care practitioner own values, beliefs and experiences can influence delivery of care.
The NHS was then finalised during 1948, the main role of the NHS was to reduce health inequalities throughout Britain, so that everyone could be treated the same way, whatever their finance stability, job status and location. They believed that this programme should have reduced inequalities throughout Britain. It was created by Aneurin Bevan and Edwin Chadwick but it was successful until the Prime Minister at the time who was Margaret Thatcher accepted the Bill through Parliament. The NHS included the Public Health Acts such as maternal and child welfare, availability for beds in hospitals and General Doctors in local areas. The NHS also included things such as Vaccinations and Immunisations and social work skills such as home helps and also
Born and raised by parents working in the medical field, I have always had the urge to follow up on on a health related career. Despite never being pressured into choosing scientific subjects as my academic studies, I deeply admired what a long way science has come and longed to give my contribution to this fascinating world. I am presently studying for my A-levels at St.Aloysius Sixth form in Malta, a college for high achievers.
I want to learn more about the medical field. I am very fascinated in the science aspects. You need to be attentive; sensitive to people’s needs and have a drive to address their needs in an utmost concerned manner. It is one of those jobs that require long working hours and often one must overlook one’s needs and cater to patients. I am a sensitive and very hard-working individual.
The setting up of hospital and emergency service was born because of the war. The emergency hospitals and services were designed to treat wounded and sick soldiers, bombing casualties, and evacuees. This singular action proved that the state can establish and run a health service. Beveridge’s report of 1942 served as a last signal which confirmed that a national health service would be established.
The healthcare and social assistance industry includes establishments that provide healthcare and social assistance for the public. These establishments must follow environmental policies to protect the land, water, and air.
1.1: Review systems, policies and procedures for communicating information on health and safety in the health and social care workplace in accordance with legislative requirements
According to the American Nurses Association, nursing is defined as “the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations” (American Nurses Association, 2016). Nurses have many jobs and responsibilities and wear many different hats. Nurses can perform at many different levels depending on their scope of practice which is defined by the board of nursing in one’s state of residence. It is important as nurses to understand and follow
Almost every scientist has a formative moment at the beginning of their career that gets them hooked to research. For me, this moment came as I looked through a microscope and noticed the open neural tubes of embryos I had genetically manipulated. I had identified an uncharacterized, disease-related gene and showed its role in the formation of cilia as well as neural tube closure. This was the first time in my undergrad I felt the exhilaration of first-hand discovery, and from this moment forward, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in research. Complementing my passion for research is a strong appreciation for medicine and its clinical implementation, which together have led me to consider pursuing an MD/PhD. These two degrees will allow me to take a multifaceted approach to both medicine and basic science research - applying an advanced understanding of human physiology and interpersonal care to the
My desire of studying biomedical sciences stems from my sciences interest, as it demonstrates a world not visible to the naked eye, plays a big role in everyday life. science specifically biology and chemistry are stimulating and challenging subjects , over the years of studying them ,my interest has increased because learning things about how our bodies function and how it relates to god’s creation is particularly interesting for me. I also find it very important because I’m Muslim. The biomedical science degree will open for me the door to learn more about the vast field of biology and its branches to a greater depth. I developed my knowledge in the science field by taking support classes in the lab at school; I was fascinated by how the body can function in different circumstances and the complexity of DNA, different organisms, chemical reactions, and also very importantly the mathematical aspect which gives me the chance to develop and use my logic and it inform me to new ways of looking at given problems.
I am presenting and proving myself as a bright student to take up MSc in Biomedical Science at University of Strathclyde with the acquired good science education background and utmost interest for the course. I have always been interested in science and the idea of working in laboratory, hospital or where I can help patients was my main goal since my high school. My main aim is stablishing my own laboratory in my City as I am living in a relatively big city but there are not enough immunology and pathology laboratory for citizens. During my undergraduate study in Molecular and Cellular Biology and postgraduate diploma in Biotechnology, as a student at department faculty of biology and science, I was able to experience the most of chemistry and
Communicating effectively and in a professional manner is not only important in how other people view us; it could determine which jobs we are able to obtain as employer Kevin Weins brought out. Everyone can benefit from trying to communicate more effectively. Trying to improve my own communication skills has helped me in my own life and career and can help other people in their own careers and in their daily life.
I feel that obtaining good speech skills can be vital to resolving workplace issues. Becoming more direct and getting straight to the point with my speech has impacted my experiences in increase my ability of not losing my listeners interest and avoiding improper articulations by speaking or communicating clearly and effectively to obtain a good impression of his or her listener because a person only gets one time to make a first impression. We must understand the power of the tongue. Changing our words can change our situations.
