ENG 102
Exercise 7.2
For this assignment, you are to conduct a close read of one article. This article may be one for your intended research, or an article of your choosing. Once you have selected the article be sure to complete the following:
Identify and explain the main points within the article.
Main Point: Energy security should be defined and measured using a mixed methods approach
The importance of defining and measuring energy security through a multidimensional approach is necessary because of the ambiguity surrounding the concept of energy security. A synthesized framework based on five dimensions related to affordability, availability, sustainability, technological development, and regulation is necessary to provide much-needed clarity. Moreover, categorizing and breaking down these five dimensions into 20

To reflect affordability, the prices of petrol or gasoline and electricity at the retail level serve as very crucial metrics of energy security. There are various underlying values which fall under affordability including lowering energy costs, justice, stability, equity, and predictability.
Main Point: Energy security should be defined through availability
Availability is having sufficient energy supplies. According to the article, it helps a nation to be energy independent. In addition, it promotes various energy technologies. The article also states that availability harnesses domestically available resources of energy and fuels ensuring there is a reasonable reserve to the ratios of production. The underlying values of availability are disparity, self-sufficiency, balance, resource availability, variety, supply security, imports, and independence.
Main Point: Energy security should be defined through
The audience for writing project one: summary and response will be my classmates and my instructor, Avon Waters. I am writing this for English 111 – an online Ivy Tech college course. This is the first writing project of four for semester one. The assignment is to select a core reading resource from the group listed and perform a summary and response style paper, using proper APA formatting and introducing the concept of a situation analysis. The core reading piece I have selected is one that personally interested me, as it deals heavily with history and facts versus opinions and controversy. This will be in APA format, as with every other paper written in this course. My goal with this paper is to offer additional insight into the piece I
In response to the question set, I will go into detail of the study, consisting of the background, main hypotheses, as well the aims, procedure and results gathered from the study; explaining the four research methods chosen to investigate, furthering into the three methods actually tested.
Another thing that I observed and recorded with an a frequency count was Jamie doing several work sheets. One of theses worksheets was a math specifically counting and the other worked on identifying objects that started with the letter R. After the teacher gave instructions on both the papers Jamie started to work on her worksheets. With in the time it took her to finish these worksheets (less then 15 minute) Jamie ask on of the adults if she was doing the work correctly about seven times. One thing that I would modify in the future is the instructions that were given at the beginning. I would make sure that the students understood what they were support to be doing before they started the assignment. I would also be very specific with
1) I believe that my theoretical curves don’t really match like figure 4 but then again it somewhat does. My immigration curve and extinction curve do hit each other once, but not like in figure 4 where they hit each other twice. Also my extinction curve is going up like in figure 4 and my immigration curve is going down just like in figure 4. So I guess you could say that my curves represent the curves on figure 4.
This is a credible article; it seems that it is researched thoroughly and thoughtfully. Overall this article highlights my topic fairly well, and did meet my expectations; the author’s conclusion ended strong and summarizes the article greatly. Still, this article is not much different than my other twelve articles with the exclusion of one. In this article and others not all sources have different points of view and only one has done that.
Hope you had a great week, I enjoyed reading your post and agree that we as individuals need to have accountably for our own health and well-being, in particular, making healthier choices. Below you will find my response to this week’s post.
I read the Syllabus very carefully, as requested, and I do not have any questions. The topic I choose to do a web field trip on to search and return with one fact is “Specific Populations to assess: developmentally challenged”. I am using information from APA.org, which is where I found the one fact that was requested for this assignment. What I found was a set of guidelines for the treatment and assessment of people with disabilities that were developed by a task force of APA specialists. I am using the section “Testing and Assessment” which includes Guidelines 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 (APA Task Force, 2017) I found the fact that I am going to share under Guideline 15 which is “Psychologists strive to determine whether accommodations are appropriate for clients to yield a valid test score” (APA Task Force, 2017, Guideline 15).
What are the main ideas and/or issues of the article as it relates to the chosen topic?
Quantitative Article Critique In order to be able to critique a research article, there are certain guidelines to follow. The ethical aspect of the study, the problem statement or purpose statement, the literature review, the study framework, and the hypothesis and research questions of the article must be critiqued. This is done in order to find the strengths and limitations of the research. Therefore, determine if it can be used as evidence-based practice.
The articles, published after 1996, contain varied methods of research attainment, but share similarities such as being a self-survey, having a small sample size, and being
This article hasn’t provided an introduction; however a lengthy summary of the study which identifies the problem, purpose and rationale for the research study has been provided in the background. The introduction should give the reader a general sense of what the document is about, and preferably persuade the reader to continue reading. This prepares the reader for reading the rest of the document (Burns & Grove, 2001 p.636; Nieswiadomy, 2008 p.380; Stockhausen and Conrick, 2002).

The energy industry provides many different resource options for consumers to choose. Two main markets within this industry exist: conventional energy and alternative energy. Conventional forms of energy never suffer from low demand because of consumer’s familiarity with these resources. Alternative energy, on the other hand, is still a growing market. The United States government shows great interest in adapting to a lifestyle that uses these forms of energies by passing acts, creating energy policies, and subsidization to support the alternative energy market. But the conventional energy market still remains prevalent in the country. A government model of utilizing alternative resources needs to occur for the energy market to thrive amongst
Now within the rest of this paper you will be finding a few different things getting discussed. Staring it off we will be discussing the articles that we have found to make our arguments and hypotheses. After wrapping up the literature reviews we will be discussing the hypotheses thus continuing onto our variables and indicators. Once we discuss our hypotheses we will be moving onto the research design. The research design will have our general issues, sampling, and methods.
First there is growing divergence between the demand for energy and the measures taken to increase its supply. Second the impact of the energy shortage on domestic industry and investment
