Some harmful ingredients can include the following: Caffeine, sugar, and taurine. According to Mayo Clinic people should not have more than 400 milligrams of caffeine a day. Red Bull, for example, has 357 milligrams in a 16 ounce can. If people consume drinks with a lot of caffeine in it, it can cause heart problems, and stomach problems. Energy drinks can have 21 to 34 grams of sugar. Sugar, can also be replaced with high fructose corn syrup. Taurine, can cause chest pain, and heartbeat issues (DiLonardo).
(4) How much sugar should people have a day? People should have about 25 grams of sugar each day. Energy drinks have about 21 to 34 grams of sugar in them. It exceeds the daily intake of sugar each day. That is even if they don't eat or drink anything else (DiLonardo).

Energy drinks affect your body in ways people don’t think about. My experiment was created to find out what happens to your heart rate after putting an energy drink into your body. Some of the things I found by doing some research is that you can go to the hospital just for drinking an energy drink alone. Energy drinks contain more caffeine than what the label says. Based on this research a hypothesis was created. The hypothesis was, if you drink an energy drink, then your heart rate will increase due to the amount of caffeine it contains. This hypothesis made the most sense because caffeine has been labeled by doctors to not be the safest substance.
