As a result of participating in this workplace for the past two months, I have been able to acquire new skills and further develop on my current ones and also obtained knowledge that I will be able to utilise in my future career pathways. The following dot points briefly review the various employability skills and knowledge I have been able to acquire whilst participating within this workplace.

While working at Zerella Fresh I was required to utilise verbal and non-verbal communication to effectively converse with my co-workers and interact with the customers. Listening skills were also significantly important as the employees were required to quickly analyse and evaluate what the supervisors said, as they would only come around every hour and all the orders needed to be completed before the supervisor returns to collect the various orders and announce the new orders. Although this may seem easy, but this task requires everyone to communicate with each other to effectively complete the task at hand, which also required the employees to use their problem solving skills along with their decision making to assertively and efficiently complete the task within the set time. Each shift had around 20 workers, 6 graders (visually assesses the potatoes/carrots to determine whether they are suitable for consumption), 12 packers (Machineries pack the products in appropriately sized bags and the packers put them into crates and palates) and 2 forklift drivers that collect the palates), and two supervisors. Whilst at Zerella Fresh, occasionally small business owners would visit the workplace and purchase our products, however the orders are generally made from bigger companies and are made through the main office. When small business owners come to purchase the products, they would communicate with the supervisors, however when a supervisor was not present, I was required to take initiative and take their order and generally this process would take 10-15 mins, therefore, I had to converse with them for the time being so that they do not lose interest and leave without purchasing our products, which would indicate to the supervisor that my interpersonal skills are not competent enough to serve the customers. I was also encouraged to converse with the customers and attempt to increase the quantity of their order as this would be beneficial towards the company, as small orders would generally slow down the process of delivering to the larger companies such as Woolworths and
