Our leadership in this world has changed and affected us greatly. Leadership is being about to lead an organization with many people and to have control in the right way. “ The Leader of the Future” a book by Peter F. Drucker gives us information on why and how it is to be such a great leader. We need better leaders and we need them to guide us and help us along the way. Without leadership, our world would be in such danger and we America would be going through a lot.
Out past in leadership has been so different then our present. Our past with some of the most noteworthy issues and trends in the field of leadership development in the past 20 years under these two general headings 1) The proliferation of leadership development methods; 2) The importance of a leader’s emotional resonance with and impact on others (Broome/Hughes). These 2 are the most important things for leaders, especially like it’s been with us for 20 years now. In first heading, Proliferation of Leadership Development Methods gives us Classroom- type leadership, Development relationships, Action learning, and challenging job assignments. Each one explains to us what we have used in our past and the skills we have used.
Classroom-type leadership consists of activities such as mentoring, coaching, and action learning. This classroom training helps us to be better leaders and gets us prepared for what’s ahead of us. Our development relationships have 2 forms its coaching and mentoring. Back then coaching involved lots of practice, setting goals from one-to-one and help the behaviors to some of our leaders. Leadership without direction is useless (Drucker 222). In our future will need everyone to use character, vision, behaviors, and most of all confidence. You and all the leaders in this world need this in order to keep it going generation to generation.
In conclusion, leadership is need every single day. Without this, there is no use and we would be nothing in this world. What would we do without leadership? I hope that in our future, we have powerful leaders, who will guide us in our daily lives. We need them to help this world. Especially, under the conditions that we are going through in our lives each day. If we don’t have leaders, then we are nothing in this world.
Leadership is about taking personal and social responsibility for working with others to achieve common goals.
Leadership at times can be a complex topic to delve into and may appear to be a simple and graspable concept for a certain few. Leadership skills are not simply acquired through position, seniority, pay scale, or the amount of titles an individual holds but is a characteristic acquired or is an innate trait for the fortunate few who possess it. Leadership can be misconstrued with management; a manager “manages” the daily operations of a company’s work while a leader envisions, influences, and empowers the individuals around them.
“Without leaders, things drift along”. They go where they want to go, following the path of least resistance. A leader’s job is to overcome this resistance and make the things flow in a different direction.
Leadership is being able to direct or guide other people by either your own actions or by actually guiding them into the right direction (Acumen). Inspiration to be a leader might come from many different areas like your family, friends, peers, or even teachers. My inspiration didn’t really occur to me until I started attending college in August 2013. In all actuality I never even thought of how to be a leader until I was in Mrs. Moore’s Perspectives class. I now have a desire to be a great leader, and the inspiration has come from Mrs. Moore, and my family. I am the first to attend college out of my family, so in a away I have already started leading my siblings in the right direction. Being a leader means inspiring others to pursue their dreams, and aspirations and helping throughout the journey to success. Being a leader has nothing with authority or being able to tell other what, and how to do things, it’s about having people who look up to you and want to follow your example.

Leadership is all about having the right amount of heart and determination to help make a difference in someone’s life. It takes certain qualities to be considered a good leader. A leader should want to help inspire others to make a change and to be the best that they can be. A true leader does not need to feel powerful, instead they empower those around them. Throughout my life I have come across various leaders who have made an impact on my life. It takes a very special person to inspire and touch people’s lives. Leaders is an effective tool for summarizing and inspiring leadership, not in that it teaches tough strategies and manipulations, but that when looking at an overview of its content, Bennis and Nanus are essentially teaching human relations and human decency. All in all, this book highlights strategies for us all to be better in our lives and our everyday interactions.
Leaders will no matter what have an influence on our world. They have missions, dreams and ambition, and with these things they are bound to go far. For leaders, what makes these dreams come true is having strong qualities such as leadership practices, values and strengths. If developed and learned how to use correctly, these are what take leaders to the next level and accomplish great things. Organizations have leaders who are effective and ineffective. Many of us want to be leaders but, do we have what it takes to be effective or are we going to be ineffective.
