Edward “Ed” Sheeran was born on February 17, 1991, in Halifax, West Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. Ed Sheeran was born with a perforated eardrum, which he did not have replaced until he was 11 years old. He was born with a large birthmark on his face that was later removed by laser surgery. He also dealt with a detached retina, which made him deal with a lazy eye effect. Sheeran also suffered from nerve damage as a child during an operation which led to a stutter.His stutter was eventually cured by therapy. Even with all those birth situations Ed began playing guitar at a young age and soon after he started writing his own original songs. At 14 years old, Sheeran headed to London for the summer.
