Early Bird Aphorism

I’m sure many of us have heard the aphorism ‘The Early Bird Gets The Worm’ by either a teacher, father or mother, but does anyone know the real meaning behind it? When a person uses this aphorism, they are pointing out to others that waking up early or doing something before someone else can lead them to be more fortunate. I do believe that this aphorism holds some truth because when waking up and completing a task would make someone feel good because knowing that they wouldn’t have to do it later is a relief. A reason to why this aphorism also holds some truth is because when someone wakes up early they will sometimes finish early, for example, school or work. Showing up to work early can show good time management, but could be bad because you did have to wake up earlier, so you could get there. When having to be at work or an event at a certain time can be hard for some people because waking up early can be a problem and less sleep. If anyone were to show up to work early before everyone else could be a waste of time because they would be sitting there waiting for everyone else. Now that they’re waiting for everyone else they could be telling themselves that they rushed, and could’ve had extra time to sleep or even eat breakfast. Being rushed is no fun because something could be forgotten at home because of how much pressure someone’s putting on themselves which can lead to being stressed. Showing up to work stressed is no fun because it can change how a person can interact with one another and it could bring that person down. For early birds who arrive at work before anyone else could possibly work on slowing themselves down and not rush themselves. Yet again we’ve all been there where you want to snooze your alarm because you feel that it is just too early and you don’t feel like getting out of your bed. In a few situations for early risers it may be easy to hit that snooze button because you need to get your day started and leave as soon as you can. Getting up early has many benefits; however, statistics say that going to bed early can make a person feel very tired throughout the day. In most cases, I’m sure plenty of us have been really tired and decided to take a nap. Well taking a nap through the day could lead to having trouble sleeping in the night which can lead to loss of sleep. When being tired our bodies don’t work the way they are supposed to like for example: harder to think straight, creates false memories, and performing at a lower level. It’s been proved that an average person needs to about seven to eight hours of sleep, so it’s important to get the right amount.
