Moonsong pressed into her mate comfortingly as the pair of them sat together near Duskclaw's body. The tom's dead form had been found near the border with DarkClan, and Duskclaw had been covered in Morningcloud's scent, only fueling the hatred much of LakeClan held for him. Crowflight had prepared their father's body for the burial and now sat next to Rockfall. Both toms were silent as they simply stared upwards at the stars. Moonsong lifted her gaze. I'm so sorry, Duskclaw. If I had acted sooner... maybe this wouldn't have happened. A warm, comforting scent wrapped around her, and Moonsong realized the scent was that of her father. Do not blame yourself for what you could not stop. You cannot change the past, but your paws will shape the future, Moonsong. Do not forget that. Moonsong sighed softly and gazed toward the camp entrance. Rather than …show more content…
guarding the camp. Streamfeather, Acornfire, and Mistpool had all been charged with guarding the border near DarkClan while the other new warriors stood silent vigil in camp. Rainstar himself had handed down the order, worried that another attack attempt on LakeClan would be coming. "We found Brightfern!" Streamfeather's voice cut through the silent night air. Moonsong sprang to her paws as best as she could with her slightly swollen belly. She hurried forward as her apprentice entered camp with the obviously injured she-cat following her. Brightfern's paws were a bloody mess, and the she-cat looked as though she had been attacked by a pack of wolves. "Brightfern?" Moonsong asked worriedly. "What happened?" "Get back," Crowfligt snapped irritably. "Crowding her won't help. Everyone give her some space, for SpiritClan's sake." Moonsong hissed at the cross tom, but he simply snorted at her, flicking his tail over her ear. She shook her head impatiently, even though she knew he was right. Brightfern would talk when she was ready. Right now, Crowflight needed to see to her injuries. "Your paws are a mess," the medicine cat grumbled.
"What on earth happened to you?" "They took our claws!" Brightfern's voice rose to a wail. "Darkwind took our claws away! All of us! They - they ambushed us... the border... Morningcloud killed Duskclaw, and Blizzardheart knocked out Pigeonfur... Then... then Darkwind was giving us poppy seeds and - and when I woke up, my claws were gone!" Moongsong trembled. A cat without claws? A cat without claws would never survive in the wild! "No claws?" "But how will they survive?" "They won't!" Ripplewing growled. "That's the point. Without claws, they can't take care of themselves. Lionstar finally found a way to get control of his she-cats back. They can't hunt or fight now - they have no choice but to let the toms hunt for them! They have no choice but to go back to being controlled!" "Great SpiritClan, no!" "Will they do this to all of us?" "Does that mean they took our mother's claws?" Darkpaw's voice trembled. "I'll keep you safe, Darkpaw," Shadepaw, Darkpaw's brother, vowed. "Stormstrike, you won't let this happen, will you?" Frostwing's mew was full of
fear. "Of course not, Frostwing. I would take on the whole of DarkClan to keep you and the kits safe." Moonsong gave a shuddering breath. So this was DarkClan's newest plot - and it was an effective one. Duskclaw was dead, and now four she-cats would no longer be able to fight or hunt for themselves. It was a cruel trick, one that Moonsong wasn't surprised to know that that fox-dung eating Morningcloud had come up with. Her claws slipped out and dug into the dirt. She would flay him, rip him into tiny shreds if she ever laid claws on him. Firestorm pressed against her comfortingly. "Come back to the nursery," he murmured. She sighed and nodded. For now, she had to worry about safely having her kits. Morningcloud and Lionstar would be at the front of her mind again soon enough. But first, she would see her kits born and apprentices. You are running out of time... Moonsong's ears pricked at the voice of Shiversnow, Shimmerstar's sister who was killed by a rabid wolf. I know, Shiversnow... I just wish I knew what to do next.
An artwork will consist of different elements that artists bring together to create different forms of art from paintings, sculptures, movies and more. These elements make up what a viewer sees and to help them understand. In the painting Twilight in the Wilderness created by Frederic Edwin Church in 1860 on page 106, a landscape depicting a sun setting behind rows of mountains is seen. In this painting, Church used specific elements to draw the viewer’s attention directly to the middle of the painting that consisted of the sun. Church primarily uses contrast to attract attention, but it is the different aspects of contrast that he uses that makes the painting come together. In Twilight in the Wilderness, Church uses color, rhythm, and focal
Book Review of Night and Dawn "Never shall I forget that night, the first night in the camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky. Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget that nocturnal silence which deprived me, for all eternity, of the desire to live.
She kept washing her father clothes time to time, and she still remember how he used to wear them. Washing her father’s shirt was a daily habit that she did for her father. It also shows that she is very care about him. Then she states, “From among all bodies in the world, / animal, human. / Only one exuded that sweat. / I breath it in/ for the last time.”, this part shows the solid relationship that only has with her special father. From all around the world the “smells of sweat” on her father’s shirt was the only one that was so special to her. It clearly reflects the uniqueness of her father and their binding relationship. She tries to breath the “smells of sweat” from the “shirt” for the time because she will never have change to smell that sweat again. this is the only time that she could smell and memory about her father. The action also indicates deeply the daughter’s love for her
An impulse of affection and guardianship drew Niel up the poplar-bordered road in the early light [. . .] and on to the marsh. The sky was burning with the soft pink and silver of a cloudless summer dawn. The heavy, bowed grasses splashed him to the knees. All over the marsh, snow-on-the-mountain, globed with dew, made cool sheets of silver, and the swamp milk-weed spread its flat, raspberry-coloured clusters. There was an almost religious purity about the fresh morning air, the tender sky, the grass and flowers with the sheen of early dew upon them. There was in all living things something limpid and joyous-like the wet morning call of the birds, flying up through the unstained atmosphere. Out of the saffron east a thin, yellow, wine-like sunshine began to gild the fragrant meadows and the glistening tops of the grove. Neil wondered why he did not often come over like this, to see the day before men and their activities had spoiled it, while the morning star was still unsullied, like a gift handed down from the heroic ages.
For many cat owners, their cat’s impulse to scratch can become a disastrous problem. Cat owners believe that the only logical solution is to have the cat declawed. It’s natural for cats to scratch and use their our claws to live their daily lives. Cats use their claws to play, climb, and in many situations as a form of self-defense. So the question that presents itself, is it really necessary for cat owners to have cats declawed. The only problem with declawing cats is that it is unnecessary and inhumane mutilation. Many cat owners should be more aware take advantage of the other safer and more humane alternatives for their cats.
Then the Papa’s sigh of loneliness became the mist that rose up from the ground.

...rward, broke the ring, and fell over the steep edge of the rock to the sand by the water. At once the crowed surged after it, poured down the rock, leapt on to the beast, screamed, struck, bit, tore. There were no words, and no movements but the tearing of teeth and claws (Golding 153).
Humans understood that something unusual was happening. No one thought that nightfall had truly come. But the brute creation, the various farm animals, and their wild cousins, behaved as though the day, but so shortly before begun, had come already to its premature close. Cows returned for their evening milking, chickens sought their roosts, and dogs, sensitive to the concern and fright that their masters so obviously felt, cowered at the doorsteps of houses, seeking whatever comfort their terrified owners could give them. The birds of the air vacated the skies and sought their nests; frogs began their evening serenade, as all nature welcomed the end of a day that only to human minds had not really
Throughout this extract, the narrator seems to evoke a secret and an elusive sense of smell which in turn creates interest. As the narrator seems to reflect on his past, he asks the daughter about the familiar smell without revealing reasons. This may suggest that
As the humans began to wish that they were adopted by a Sphynx, the other cat breeds grew to be jealous and mean-spirited. So they devised a plan to get rid of all the humans. One night all the other cat species met up in an abandoned warehouse and debated as to what should happen to all the Sphynx’s and their pet humans. After conversing amongst each other, they came up with a plan to gather all the humans that have a sphinx for an owner, then store them in the industrial sized freezer that is inside the abandoned warehouse they were in.
This cat is a powerful jumper and climber, also capable of running at high speeds. The paws of the Siberian tiger are equipped with long, sharp, dagger-like retractable claws.
Throughout the course of evolution the cat’s ability to survive in the wild has become extremely dependent upon its hunting ability. In order for feral, or undomesticated, cats to survive on their own in the wild they have developed hereditary traits and instincts from their ancestors throughout time. Though these hereditary traits that they have inherited are helpful for undomesticated cats, they can often cause problems when domesticated house cats revert back to the ways of their ancestors, often influencing the ways that cats kept as pets are managed. Cats are carnivorous predators and pet owners must accommodate this lifestyle by feeding them a meat-based diet with high protein, providing them with a play outlet to avoid predatory aggression, as well as keeping them inside or monitoring their activities while outside to avoid the unnecessary killing of birds or any other type of animal.
... important to always move forward with your life. There is no point in worrying about the past because you will never be able to get it back, all you can do is go on and learn from your mistakes.
Many regrets may burden ones mind throughout their life. This is a totally normal part of ones life that one may have no control over. “A man should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is by saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.” - Alexander Pope (1688-1744) It is important that one will learn from their mistakes and take out a valuable lesson learned through their actions. The world does not stop for your sake, it simply keeps going and does not put into consideration that the day did not go accordingly to plans.
