“A man should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is by saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.” - Alexander Pope (1688-1744)
“Experience is Knowledge”
Many regrets may burden ones mind throughout their life. This is a totally normal part of ones life that one may have no control over. “A man should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is by saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.” - Alexander Pope (1688-1744) It is important that one will learn from their mistakes and take out a valuable lesson learned through their actions. The world does not stop for your sake, it simply keeps going and does not put into consideration that the day did not go accordingly to plans.
It is perfectly normal for one to feel question or doubt of a certain action performed. Anyone that is human would have this reaction to something that was a difficult decision to make. As many will come to see, life was not equipped with a pause button to put everything on hold so life as we know it can be put back into order. So many little things happen everyday, if a person would let all of these things get under their skin, life would be better known as “hell.” The best advice one could use would be to learn from the mistakes made, and become wiser with each one made.
Should mistakes be looked at as something to be ashamed of? Being a human, mistake are inevitable. There is no such thing as someone who has not ever questioned an action performed or a decision made. Humans are given a conscious, this is strictly for making decisions. It helps one makes decisions by questioning everything. By doing this, uncertainty is not out of the question. Wrong choices, and bad actions are not something one should ever be ashamed of. Wrong choices, and bad actions that are performed more then once are something one should be ashamed of.
Wisdom comes with experience, engorging oneself in many opportunities comes with its mistakes. If one can comes out of a bad experience with some sort of knowledge that will help them, or teach them anything, it was not something to be ashamed of.
Mistakes are essential for improvement, whether that’s in science or in social situations. Every error a person makes brings them closer to the right answer or a new discovery. For instance, the discovery of penicillin was based upon a mistake. However, the effect wasn’t a negative
Manhood had not always existed; it was created through culture. Depending on the era, masculinity claimed a different meaning. But in all of its wandering definitions, it consistently contains opposition to a set of “others,” meaning racial and sexual minorities. (pp.45) One of the first definitions was the Marketplace Man, where capitalism revolved around his success in power, wealth, and status. A man devoted himself to his work and family came second. Although this is one of the first standing definitions, it still finds its spot in today’s definition, where masculinity consists of having a high paying job, an attractive young wife, and
Unfortunately life has many hurdles and roads unturned. I do not feel we should regret the mistakes we have made in our past. Or else, we may be too hesitant to make correct choices in our future.

For example, when my grandfather told me about a story when he was in my age, he was in a fight with one of his friends, the reason of this fight was that my grandfather’s friend was trying to bully him to make joke of him but he didn’t not mean to insult but he just was flirting, but my grandfather got in fight with this guy and he harmed him. In that moment my grandfather never felt anything towards this guy, but after some time my grandfather came to know that his friend was just having a coquet behavior and he did not mean to insult him, in that moment my grandfather he felt pangs of remorse. Because he couldn’t control himself and he harmed this guy. I learned from my grandfather that we shouldn’t rush in judging others and we have to think before doing anything.
In the twentieth century, juveniles were oftentimes treated the same as adults in regards to the justice system, however, age was considered in terms of an appropriate punishment. At the turn of the century, criminal justice actors as well as policy makers began to change their perspective on the juvenile by considering them a delinquent child instead of a criminal. The juvenile justice system is comprised of those agencies whose primary duty is to manage juvenile offenders. In most major police departments, juvenile police officers have the sole responsibility of dealing with juvenile delinquency. The juvenile justice system was founded on the concept of parens patriae, which means the state as parent. In other words, the juvenile delinquent
Everyone makes mistakes, it is not uncommon for people to make multiple mistakes a day. Mistakes are something that happens in the most casual way, it could just be running into someone walking. People make mistakes and people give forgiveness, but sometimes if the mistake was impactful, forgiveness may be hard to gain. Everyone wishes for a one more chance at fixing a mistake, but once the action is done or the words have been said people cannot take it back as easy as they think.
realise that the path we had chosen was the wrong one, and even though I
Learning and analyzing chapter 5-8 disparagingly examines roughly theoretical perspectives that attempt to explain how men become men and their masculine forms. These theories include sociobiological, psychoanalytical, cultural, anthropological, and many others. A person’s ethnic or cultural background can form a man’s definition of masculinity. I believe that the author summarized each theory where he points out the strengths and weaknesses of each. One particular quotes that stood out to me can be found on pg.114 in the text “A man defined his identity not just in the workplace but through modes of enjoyment and self-fulfillment outside the workplace outside of it” (Kilmartin). This quote is powerful to me because men is always stereotyped
When this thinking is applied to the discussion about men, it helps us to understand where the ideas about a “natural” masculinity that is same for all men comes from. If “man” is the physical representation, “masculinity” is the essence that defines him. So for example, if “masculinity” is defined by the society as behaviour that is sexually and physically aggressive, dominant, confident and avoiding the show if emotions, men that do not conform to these qualities are arguably less manly.

some of us are born wiser then the rest and some of us are just born stronger. For this
Some say wisdom comes with old age, I guess I am wise beyond my years. You see even though I am only seventeen, I have been provided with numerous life experiences that have both challenged me mentally and molded me emotionally. In her book, You Learn by Living, Eleanor Roosevelt states that the best part of learning is “the capacity to learn from each thing you see, from each fact you acquire, from each experience you have, from each person you meet” (14). By saying this, Roosevelt is stating that we learn throughout everything we view and live through, not just what we read about in school. There have been a number of life lessons that have helped guide me, and they will continue to steer me throughout the rest of my life. They will grow
