Ah yes, Disneyland, my first amusement park I ever built. It is very successful I'm not going to brag. But it took a long time to become Disneyland. It was simply just orange groves and walnut trees before this magnificent park was built. There were lots of turn-downs I experienced, but I believe that they helped me get to where I am today. "Walt, that is a crazy idea! Where would you get all the money from? You make lots of money from your TV show, but certainly not enough to build a amusement park. You are insane," "No, that will never happen. You are just a regular boy from Kansas who will go to school and become a doctor," Theses were all words I heard throughout the start of Disney. But they never went deep. When the idea of Disneyland popped into my head, I knew instantly this would be a great idea and it just had to happen. But first I needed my first spectator, so I …show more content…
I think that building the park was my favorite part of the whole experience because I think that seeing everything come alive was really just a shock to me on how good everything looked. Everything looked so real as if you really were on a real safari. The first thing my workers built was Main Street. I would have worked, but my schedule was very hectic: like planning, and designing all of the other buildings. Personally, I like Main Street the best because it reminds me of all the good times I had there while designing it. Disneyland became to show more and more of Disneyland. But all of my seventeen million dollars were worth it. You see, my goal was to create a family friendly park, even a park that the parents would enjoy. And secondly, that had themes. Most amusement parks don't have themes, but in my park I decided to go with themes. For example, one theme in my park is Fairy Tale. It has all the princesses and princes, magical rides, stores, and better yet the castle in that
Disneyland is known to be the happiest place on earth. Walt Disney is the founder of this amusement park. Walt had ...
Disneyland marked the onset of theme parks in the nation, which was carved out of a fantasy tale and it has been the leader for 60 years. And, there was virtually no competition to the attraction quotient that attracted people and tourists to visit the theme park.
The start of what we now know as Disneyland began when Walt Disney had the idea of creating a miniature show outside of his Burbank studio. After the studio underwent authoritative changes during World War II, Walt Disney turned his interest to miniature trains, collecting and even creating his own models. He became transfixed with miniaturized models that then progressed into the idea of having a train circumventing the Burbank studio through landscapes featuring different cultural scenes such as a village and an opera house. Due partially to the Burbank authorities hostility toward the idea and partially to Walt Disney’s expansive plans, the park was moved to Anaheim, California (Chytry 265). The idea was to create a gigantic movie set, a way to transport park goers into different thematic time periods including historically inspired buildings on Main Street and futuristic rides in Tomorrowland, each land a part of an imaginative, carefree world that would be inviting to people of all ages.
As every American knows Disneyland, "Happiest place on earth", but many people do not know much about the person behind Disneyland, Walt Elias Disney. Disney is best known for his many successes, such as famous movies like The Lion King, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, and The Little Mermaid. Disney is also known for the most famous amusement park in America, Disneyland and California Adventure (depends on who you are asking, Disneyland is the original park), for all ages to forget about reality, for children to be children, and adults to become the children they once were. However, people from around the world only see and hear of Disney's successes. What people are forgetting is how Disney became famous. As a child Disney had
Walter Elias Disney, better known as Walt Disney, had a plan all along. His plan wasn’t just to make “The Happiest Place on Earth”, he wanted to create, inspire, and teach. On the grand opening of Disneyland in 1955 Walt said, “To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past ... and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America ... with the hope that it will be a source of j...
And now, nearly four decades after his death, the maker of said creations, Walt Disney, is not nearly as recognized as he should be. Not only are his works and other projects intriguing, his morals and techniques personally behind them are as well. And yet they weren’t just his morals, they were shared by the country’s people who so desired an example of good principles. Perhaps the most significant scheme of all was his creation of his very own amusement park in 1955, Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California.
Disneyland has inspired hundreds of books, articles in academic journals, and college classes dissecting its magic and evaluating its impact. Since Disneyland’s opening there has been evidence to suggest that the Disney Company is owed credit for creating not only the first, but the most successful theme park in history. Walt Disney created a niche in what was a dying industry leading to Disneyland’s success that is still observed today as the most popular and most recognizable park in the park entertainment industry. Although Disneyland was not the first amusement park, Walt Disney did perfect the idea of an amusement park and give birth to the first ever theme park which blossomed into the theme park industry. The influence Disneyland commands as the first theme park has impacted American pop culture, society, economics, marketing, entertainment and tourism by creating what has been called the “Disney effect” by author Margaret King, Director of the Center for Cultural Studies & Analysis. The impact the “Disney effect” has had on America has been argued between historians, economist, and
Walt Disney World’s first theme park, Magic Kingdom, opened up in 1971 to be extremely successful. Families enjoyed visited Disney World because it was a clean, safe environment that changed the Orlando area forever, bringing in more tourists than ever before. “The park hit capacity and was forced to close its gates for the day only a month after opening, on the day after Thanksgiving in 1971, and building could not happen fast enough to keep up with the ever increasing demand,” (“DISNEY TIMELINE”). Disney World needed new ideas to keep the guests happy and visiting again. The building of a new theme p...
The first theme park opening in 1955 was Disneyland in California. After one full year of construction demands and a total investment of $17 million the Six thousands invitations to the grand opening had been mailed inviting people to experience the magic Disney had created but when the gates opened the Disneyland was far from magical. Workmen were still planting trees, the paint was still wet and the asphalt wasn’t set. The food stalls and restaurants ran out of food due to the high number of people because of counterfeit tickets being sold. Walt Disney didn’t know didn’t know what was going on because his attention was on the live broadcast. The rides broke down shortly after use. When Walt Disney World opened in 1971 the
Walt Disney Walt Disney was a great cartoonist. He began by making a mouse that the world could love and went on to create family fun entertainment. Disney went on to live out his dream, and to make a wonderful place for the rest of the world to see. He became a cartoonist, had studios and films, and was the founder of two amusement parks.
Walt Disney As Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” He sure did it alright. Walt Disney inspired millions of people for many generations. He created Disney, the company which is worth over 1 billion dollars today.
I think Walt Disney was very successful because he failed at first, then never gave up on trying and succeeded the second time around. Disney’s goal was to bring families together for good, happy times. So, he decided to design Disneyland. Disneyland was a place for families to go and have great quality time together with their kids, other family members, and friends. Disneyland opened first in California on July 17, 1955. By 2005, there came to be five different Disneyland's across the world.
Disneyland has a very special place in my heart. It has always been my dream to go to Disneyland one day. And, I thank God for granting my tiny little dream. Entering the park, the cares and worries were all left behind. I was sent to a fantasy world where the pirates serenade and animals can sing.
Ever since I was about six years old, I wanted in the worst way to go to Disneyland. I would hope every year that my parents would chose Disneyland as our next family vacation destination. I dreamt of the day I would come back from Disneyland with exciting tales of adventure and a pair of sparkly, ruby red and black Minnie Mouse ears of my very own that would be the envy of every kid in my elementary class. Once I finally went to Disneyland, it was amazing; Disneyland was everything I had expected and more. However, a couple years later when I returned to Disneyland, it was different. The rides, buildings, and everything in the park did not have the same allure. The magic I had experienced as a child was no longer there.
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a long time, because I was so excited about going at Disney world. When I saw the big mirror ball from the entrance, I was amazed. Disney world had a wide variety of rides. There were tons of rides that shocked me. Some of these rides made you feel like you were riding in a jet because of how fast they were. There was even a roller coaster ride in the huge mirror ball. It was a slow ride, but I still liked it because there was air conditioning inside the ball. We spent all day at the park until we had ridden everything. That night Disney World had a firework show. The fireworks seemed like they lasted forever with the amazing colors bursting in the air one right after another. When the firework show finally ended my parents told me that it was time to leave. I was...
