There is an immense difference in project management between a large traditional organization, a technology company and a startup. To begin with, project management practice in a traditional company is superlative, well-defined and show a sustained approach. However, in a large technology company project management is complicated as the business needs keep changing with the demanding stakeholders from traditional organization. The leader then develops groupings and ordering of job positions, departments, and human resources to effectively and efficiently perform these tasks. Technology, size, environment, strategy and goals affect an organizational structure and effects, whether they are categorized as mechanistic or organic.

The purpose of this case study was to see if formal project management can be implemented to the functional organization of the Hyten Corporation. This would not be an easy task due to the difficulties that some departments of the Hyten Company would face. A seminar was administered by the new project manager to enlighten the managers and workers with meanings of formal project management, and so he can meet and hear different opinions of every department. This action led to knowing the function of every department, which would help him to execute the formal project management in an effective manner. Based on this case study the Hyten Corporation will benefit from implementing formal project management. Easier implementation of a singular methodology and performing a better strategic plan for their projects is among the benefits of formal project management.
