What My Nana means to me Grandparents are the icing on homemade donuts. They make everything better, they also care about what we have to say. My Nana is the icing on my donut, I wouldn’t change anything about her. In 1958 my Nana was born on a warm summer day, in June. She grew up with her two younger brothers, one older sister, and loving parents.Through tough times, my Nana manages to somehow get back up and persevere, and help others. My Nana is special because she’s responsible, supportive, and loving. Responsible is the first word I would describe my Nana. She takes care of Grandma and Grandpa, opened her own maternity store with my mom, she also has a dog whom she loves and takes care of. Even though my Nana is stressed, she takes …show more content…
My Nana buys food for them, organize their money, and takes them where they need to go. When I was a baby my Mom and Nana opened a maternity and children’s store, and stayed in business for 13 years. She kept up with payments and bills even though some days we didn’t have many customers, but bad days didn’t stop her from being positive. After Missy passed Nana was having a hard time with accepting the fact she was gone, but she decided she needed a little something in her life, so she got Molly. teaching Molly how to behave and keeping her healthy is hard work. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays Nana picks me up from musical rehearsal and days when I have appointments. Nana is responsible and does what needs to be done, and doesn’t let anyone down. She’s supportive, comes to my concerts, when I am down she picks me up, and encourages me to do new activities that are out of my comfort zone. When Nana comes to my concerts it means a lot to me. She would come to my band concerts, musicals, and dance recitals. She would always tell me I did an amazing job, and we would go out to dinner, or pick up ice cream for my great performence. When sick or stressed she takes care of me and comforts me. Sometimes when I go on vacation,
As a mother, my mom plays both parent roles as a single parent. She comes to watch most of my soccer games and makes sure I always have what I need. As a mother, my mom’s number one job is to make sure I’m safe. She does this by calling me constantly throughout the day to make sure she knows where I’m at and to know that I’m safe. Without hesitation, my mom puts my life ahead of hers at all times. In addition, my mother also shows her love through being a nurse. She puts extra effort towards being a nurse to help people. She loves to help people and she always does her best to give her patients what they need such as medicine. Again, she also always seems to put her patients first. Furthermore, my mom shows her love by loving to be a nurse. All she talks about is being a nurse since nursing is what she enjoys the most. By being a nurse, my mother gets to show her love through her true passion which is nursing. These are some reasons that show my mother’s characteristic of being
“ I loved my childhood, I couldn’t have asked for a better one.” is what my mother told me talking about her childhood. My mother lived her childhood to the fullest and enjoyed every second of it even if she didn't have everything she wanted. As she moved from home to home and school to school she realized her best friends forever were her sisters. Even up to today she talks to her sisters every day even though Larissa lives all the way in Wichita,Kansas. My mother enjoyed playing barbies, baby dolls, and house with her sisters. Even though their father didn't always seem like he was supporting them he kept the family together and always made sure they had everything to live a comfortable life. As they got older my grandfather has became a much bigger part of their life and does anything to make everyone happy.
Normal everyday deeds such as laundry, diaper changes, cooking meals and the like do take up much of her day, not to say she doesn’t have help from some of her the older children. There is just so much one person can take and still stand tall, smile and keep peace and tranquility on the home-front.
There was times when she would bench me and go days without talking to me, It would frustrate me to my breaking point. Eventually I would confront her about it and that was exactly what she was waiting for. She taught me to address my problems and speak my mind, I learned how to work with people and she prepared me for the hard life ahead. I think back on her lessons almost everyday, She forced me to realize my worth and i'm so glad I was blessed with our
She has made many personal sacrifices for my education. After a day of working with elementary schoolers, she tirelessly without complaint took me to the library as many times as I requested. Somehow during 6th grade, after I received an invitation from People to People, she found the money for me to travel to Australia for two weeks. I am more independent because I watched her succeed on her

Mama, unlike other typical grandmothers, does not spend her days baking cookies or spoiling her grandchildren. She is the kind of Grandma that is willing to look her children and grandchildren straight in the eyes and say the honest truth because she wants what is best for them. She is a wholesome woman that constantly looks out for the best of her family using her faith as guidance.
Since birth the one person that was always by my side except for my family was my Grandma. Once my parents needed to go back to work she was there everyday to watch over me. She took me with her every where she went and was proud to show me off and that she had such a wonderful grandson. My Grandma was around for all of my “firsts” that happened as an infant. I think that most of them can be accountable to her. I was never hungry since she always kept me full and when it came time to walk and talk she was there. A lot of our free time was spent chasing my old dog around the yard and petting the horses or going to the park. She was there every step of my infant years and through my younger years.
What does phenomenal mean to you? One dictionary states phenomenal means very remarkable. My great grandmother was a very sophisticated and remarkable woman. Phenomenal should have been her first name, because that she was. My great grandmother was a rare breed; many do not come like that anymore. Memories of my great grandmother take me to a happy place, and hold a special place in my heart.
This lady is the most wonderful person I 've ever met. She is old, affectionate, and intelligent. It took me eighteen years to realize how much this extraordinary person influenced my life. She 's the type of person who charms everyone with her stories and experiences. She always time for her family and friends. She is the kind of leader who does everything to keep her family together and in harmony. She is my grandmother.
She could explain anything to me and I would understand straight away. She helped a lot for my education and always was there to help. My parents knew that she could teach me and show how hard it is these days and how hard I should work. That is why they always made sure I saw her enough but it never was for me.
We played outside and had a busy schedule everyday that took our minds off our mother. My grandma was a mother figure and could cook. She made sure we were all okay and I had Christmas there. But it was they year after I went to my Aunt’s. I lived with my grandma from first grade to the end of third grade. My grandma took us to go see our mom one day and my mom was a changed woman. She was chunky, smart, off the drugs, found a boyfriend that became her husband, and she was just better. They got married. We moved back with my mom after that. I have never see a person make a bigger change than her. My mom is my hero and a role model that never give up no matter how hard things might get. My grandma was sad that we came back with my mom. My mom gave my grandma 2 thousand dollars every other week to help out. My mom finally got her life back with her
My grandmother has always been my biggest supporter throughout my life. My Grandmother is my back bone; she is the reason why I am the person that I am today. Most people hear the word grandmother and expect to see older lady with possible white hair, standing in the kitchen cooking and baking, evening sewing. My grandmother is the exact opposite of those things, she is still employed full time, enjoys making jewelry and furniture. Although she is only five two she is very witted and outspoken she never bites her tongue and will always give her opinion even if you don’t ask for it. There is a softer side to her, she will give you her last and be a listening ear day or night. Like the saying goes “to know me is to love me” and believe me
Even at the age of 17, many adults have praised me for being a well-rounded, responsible, and mature young adult. Though I am often complimented for my character, I have my mother to thank. She is a big part of the reason why I am the person I am today. From academic awards to character recognitions, my mother has helped me reach all of those accomplishments. From a young child to a young adult, my mother has taught me to be obedient, respectful, and nice. She has ensured that I keep my conduct in check and my grades up to par.
