Definitely Savage is an example of a leader with the characteristics of exemplary leadership. “The truth is that exemplary leader behavior makes a profoundly positive difference in people’s commitment and performance at work” (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). The attitude and example Savage presented to his squad was a challenge but with the proposition that they learn how to work as a team and how to make their squad succeed in the missions. Definitely “Inspire a Shared Vision” is one of the five practice of an exemplary leadership that Savage demonstrate to have "They had visions and dreams of what could be. They had absolute and total personal belief in those dreams, and they were confident in their abilities to make extraordinary things happen" (Kouzes & Posner, 2017). The coaching leader shows high levels of empathy, self-awareness and skills in developing others. A coaching style is especially useful when an organization values long-term staff development (SkillsYouNeed.com, 2018).
