The Most Meaningful Course The most meaningful course I have taken in high school is Current Events. Mr. Mulcahey taught this class, and he is the best teacher I have ever had. He always kept all students engaged. I would never get bored or confused in Current Events because we would always be learning something interesting. He knew about all of the events we learned about and was able to answer any question the class had on the topics. Mr. Mulcahey knew how to connect with his students in a way that made him not only our teacher, but also our friend. Current events was a class that taught about recent events our world was going through. I learned about events such as the drug cartel, the presidential election, and wars and famines in
State major events - Major events are those revolving around, leading up to, and resulting from the conflict or major problems in the work.

...ome available, or visit the local college and ask permission to sit in on a class. It seems to me that history is happening right now, so it is also my responsibility to form some understanding of current events, whether they are local, regional or national. Just like what was taking place during the time of Nat Turner, issues and events of the day impact all of us.
During my interview with Mr. Armand I can honestly say the way he teach his class is appropriate. He makes sure that communication between his and him students were clear. He’s like a parents and a teacher to them. I learned that it is not as easy to be a teacher as everyone thinks it would be but at the same time if you understand your students and their interest everything will be fine. I learned that being a teacher means to help your students succeed at everything they do little by little.
During my 11th grade year of high school, I heard many great things about the AP english teacher, Mr. Bergeron. While I was in AP English, I did not have Mr. Bergeron as my teacher. The students Mr. Bergeron had talked so highly on him and the class environment he seemed to set up. While, I wished I was in his class my 11th grade year, little did I know, that a year later I would be in one of his courses. For my senior year I got to take an honors course with Mr. Bergeron that allowed me to tutor freshman's who struggled with learning. Taking Mr. Bergeron’s class and having him as a teacher, would change how I viewed certain aspects of my life.
There is no doubt that both Jaime Escalante and Joe Clark are great teachers. They both achieved near impossible achievements for their school against all odds. They believed in their students when their students did not believe in themselves. But, what makes them so great? What are their methods? Which of these teachers is the better teacher? They are both astounding teachers, but I think Jaime Escalante is the better teacher.
One of the greatest teacher to ever join the education program goes by the name of Mr. Sparrgrove. He should be notable around the world for his admirable contribution to society. He very selfless when it comes to his student, like a mother zebra tending to its foal. The prime qualities Sparrgrove possesses are devotion to his job, his incomparable intelligence, and his humor.
My all-time favorite teacher was my eleventh grade World Literature teacher, Mrs. Godshall. She would often pose open ended problems to the class to try and challenge us. She had a fresh teaching style and was quick to incorporate social media and current events into her lessons to get us involved, but she still used the traditional banking method Paulo Freire describes in his essay entitled The ‘Banking’ Concept of Education. Freire describes the banking concept as the act of teachers ‘depositing’ information into their students, similar to a vessel being filled. Mrs. Godshall used this method. She did not get to choose the material she was teaching during some aspects of the course and had to occasionally teach in the lecture
"Politics has come to be considered not only inappropriate in the arena of sports, but actually antithetical to it," Zirin says. "We want so much to see sports solely as an arena of play, not seriousness. But here's the thing, this can cheapen not only the greatness and relevance of sports to us as a society, but also the courage of the athletes" . The pursuit of fame, wealth and status can blind the human conscience, which is why it is important for us to encourage athletes to voice their opinions. As a nation, we should not silence our athletes, because it is the truly courageous athletes who have the audacity to stand up when it is socially unacceptable. Sports should be used as a platform for a certain kind of politics such as militarism, nationalism and human rights. A few athletes stand out as political advocates of their time who were not afraid to express their opinions: Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, and Billie-Jean King. There is a rich tradition of resistance to politics in sports, but their actions have been integral to country’s struggle for racial and gender equality; sports are a safe place to discuss these difficult topics and therefore is essential.
The most significant political event however has been September 11. The events occurring on September had special significance for the airline industry since airplanes were involved. The immediate results were a huge drop in air traffic due to safety & security concerns of the people.
Having a teacher who is fun and energetic is one way to grab a student’s attention. Having one that relates and can give advice is another way, but what about a teacher who can do all that plus keep you on track and make sure you do your ultimate best? Well that’s exactly how Chief Fagan is. He is a retired military chief and the JROTC instructor. He has been my instructor for two years now and each year I learn

The instructor is a great energizer for the group. He gives alternative approaches to acquisition of knowledge. For instance, he guided me on how to answer questions in a different way in the learning journal by expressing peers dialogue in form of a play/drama.
Since the television was invented in 1924, news and current affairs programs have surly become one of our main media sources. With this in mind, reporters and stations alike are able to manipulate their audiences through a variety of techniques, to make them believe a representation of reality as opposed to the true fact. This is evident in the current affairs story “Video Game Violence” and the standard news story “Music Video Ban”. These similar stories both originated from Channel Nine and represent violence in society’s youth today, stating children are at risk if exposed to such material. Through a selection of techniques, the audience is lured into supporting the told story and agreeing with the general attitudes promoted.
There was a significant amount of knowledge given in this course, involving concepts that in our teaching career will be extremely important. From this course I have gained a significant amount of learning experiences. I had the pleasure learning about how the educational system has come to be what it is today and who were the important people in the creation of the public education, like Horace Mann. Watching the videos and reading the chapters required has opened my eyes more of how a teacher should respond to different situations involving a student, For example when we read the chapter on the laws that revolve around the educators and the students. I had absolutely no clue that students had rights while in school property. Another learning
