College kids eat all the time and it is very interesting to see them in action at the store. The stereotypes are that college kids eat ramen noodles and drink red bull all day but, with a little observation one might see that all college kids are a little different. The amount of diversity on campus is immense and the campus grocery store is a wonderful place to see it. Language, Food and Culture are all extremely important to a college campus. From the campus cache we can learn a lot about the different types of students we have on campus like what they eat, what languages they use and how they interact with each other.
The campus cache carries a wide variety of foods. A student can find sandwiches, bread, granola bars, fruit, frozen food, a wide variety of drinks, sushi and so much more. Now, one might wonder why there is such a wide variety of food. The answer is, that there is such a wide variety of students that all want different things. Some students want to make their own food and some want to buy pre made frozen dishes. There is so much to be learned about the different cultures on campus just by observing the cache and paying attention to what different students are buying. …show more content…

Depending on where people are from and the languages they know they can communicate fairly easily. When someone from another country, like a foreign exchange student, come to campus they might have a problem with this. Everything in the campus cache is in english. All the employees that were observed only spoke English and this is very common in America so, these students must have knowledge of the English language in order to function on campus. Although different languages are not common in the cache, accents are. While observing the cache one might hear many different accents. Accents can affect language even because even though someone is speaking english, it might sound different and cause communication
