Fairy Tail A time I’ve been put in a position of leadership is when I was nominated class president, club treasurer and school treasurer. I was class president and school treasurer at my previous school, Mabel Hoggard. I did well at both jobs. I believe so because when I was school treasurer I always did my duty and was early to the job. I had never once missed once, ever. My partner, Kevin, who was in 4th grade, was my partner. We did very well according to everyone in the office, the place which we worked in. This job was easy compared to class president. Class president was hard because my 5th grade class was really out of control in the beginning and middle of the year. Towards the end of the year we were getting better until the end of May where somebody decided to write a swear word on a post-it note and give it someone. The end of May is when we have the traditional field trip to Circus Circus. We had originally gotten it taken away until they …show more content…
I was nominated the Friday before winter break, but then we didn't have any meetings during winter break since not everyone was there. My job starts back up, or it's going to planned out for when we go to events. One of my friends that is beyond important to me is my 2 friends, Keera and Valkyrie Holmes. I have known them for a long time, and they are very important to me. Now if I am important to them is not for me to decide, but hopefully I am. Keera is one of my friends that I have known, but then she moved away to Massachusetts or Michigan or some state starting with an "M". Anyways, she means a lot to me and we keep in contact still, but we don't talk to each other as we have in the past. When we get to we are really excited even if we have had a bad day. If one of us had a bad day, but the other had a good one and had good mood, we would share it and not make the other's mood worse or try to make it even better by complimenting each other of being happy for each
It is the job of a leader to be a role model because people look up to you. Leadership is something I may have to work on a little because I am a shy person, but that doesn’t stop me. Last year, some 6th grade student were going to be selected to give a tour of the school to the 5th graders who were coming to Great Hollow the following year. My teacher was unsure that I would be a good choice because I am quiet in class. But I convinced him to let me be a tour guide and he was impressed with my performance. I was excited and talked to the students about the school and I was happy to be a leader and show the 5th graders what to do. I proved to myself I had
My most fulfilling leadership experience would have to be starting the 4-H Medical Careers Spin Club. I started the club three years ago, to allow teens to have opportunities to experience the medical field before they spend money on a career they may end up not liking. The Club has been able to tour medical schools, hospitals, cancer centers, and many other facilities. I was instrumental in getting three teens in the club to apply and get accepted to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program I am involved in. Countless people in the medical field kept wanting to help me gain medical opportunities, but HR departments and HIPAA rules kept getting in the way. Through this experience, I learned that
I am elated to celebrate Texas Independence Day by preparing my response to your call for the Project Director who will help make your beautiful dream a tangible reality, here in the heart of Texas. With broad and deep experience in bringing visions to life through my unique ability to direct the path of projects, I am confident that my record of delivering award-winning results will be well worth your time to review. After spending the last year patiently watching for a visionary project to appear that matches my own discerning criteria, I believe it has finally appeared in the form of the Pecan Street Project.
Involvement in marching band, field hockey, and various other activities has given me many opportunities to show leadership. My first leadership opportunity was in eighth grade when I became a WEB leader. While I was a WEB leader, I helped incoming sixth graders get adjusted to middle school life and find their classes on the first day. I also met up with the sixth graders in my group once a month at lunch and got to know them while I asked how school was going and helped them with any issues they had. In marching band, this past season I was a marching captain for my section. I helped the freshmen learn to march, demonstrated proper marching techniques for others, and gave advice to anyone having trouble with part of our marching show. At the start of field hockey season I showed leadership by helping new players learn to play field hockey by demonstrating how
Please list any outstanding leadership experiences that you have participated in and describe your role in that experience (i.e., ASB, PLUS, Band, Drama, Yearbook, etc.).
My earliest memories of when I found out that I wanted to be a leader was when I began working at Duke Cardiology of Raleigh. I watched all of the leaders around me and the employees. I began noticing and viewing things about employees that needed to be critiqued. I even noticed positive and negative attributes that were present in management and
In a sense, I am a leader. However, that does not necessarily mean that I am the person on the front line with everyone following behind me. I am more of a silent leader. I am a leader because of my actions. Rather than go down the path
One of my biggest accomplishments in leadership is being a varsity cheerleader at Conner High School. During my time as a freshman, i looked up to the varsity cheerleaders as they guided and taught the junior varsity and freshmen teams. This past year was my turn to teach cheers at practice, organize the chaos at games, and most importantly
A few leadership experiences that I have had come from athletics. I started playing athletics when I was in the fifth grade and I still continue to play as a senior. Over the years I have had the ability to be one of the leaders of both the softball and basketball teams for my school. Being a leader has taught me to use leadership skills that I will need later in the future.
I think I tend to shy away from these positions because I prefer to work behind the scenes. However, my leadership positions have shown me that it is not just a matter of guiding others, but it is about helping others. For the past two summers, I have been a youth leader at my church’s Vacation Bible School. I usually read Bible stories to the children, play with them, and give them instructions. I feel that this position brings out the best in me because I realize that I could be influencing a young child and the person he or she will become. Being a leader does not necessarily involve leading people. For example, this past Fall, I decided to organize a fundraiser selling t-shirts so that I could donate money to the Harvest Youth Club. Although I wasn’t necessarily leading a group of people, I had to find a t-shirt design, keep track of orders, negotiate prices, and encourage people to buy one. This leadership opportunity forced me to be independent and lead myself to bring good to others at the Harvest Youth Club. I have come to realized that with each leadership opportunity, I have become more confident in the person that I want to
I am a leader in band also, because I love band and I will do anything to support band, and embody band as a whole. I have had leadership positions before, and they all have turned out great. For example I elected leader of the robotics team in the 2016-2017 season. I helped the team beat and compete with
When things are getting tough and people are looking for someone to take charge, I want that person to be me. I believe that I was born to be a leader, because my best work results from when I get control in a situation. In a group setting, something could be as small as a playing a board game or as big a final project, if I want it to go well then I need the lead. All through my life I have held informal leadership roles, such as the ones mentioned previously, and have earned formal leadership positions as well. A particular formal role that I have possessed was being elected captain of my high school varsity basketball team. This role taught me a lot about how to execute with a group of differently skilled people all seeking a common goal, a major component in leadership. The other position I held was being a Peer Leader for my high school, a club that involves mentoring underclassmen in their transition from middle school. This experience taught me to direct a different dynamic, people who need to be taught as well as lead.
Sometimes you have to wait to get opportunities to lead. First I was a helper and eventually got to be a leader. I have learned that I enjoy working with children and other adoptees. So far I have had only three leadership experiences.
Discuss a leadership experience you have had in any area of your life - school, work, athletics, family, church, community, etc. How and why did you become a leader in this area? How did this experience influence your goals?
I have had leadership roles like being a manager at Chevrolet. I have developed skills that make me an understanding individual, and I know how important it is to lead a team and reaching an overall goal. As a college student I found myself in situations where the only option was teamwork. I have organized my own study groups throughout college, and I find them to be essential to reaching an important merit. Not only did these experiences teach me how to work well with others, but how to become a successful leader.
