I have a big passion for science and technology; I have been interested in them ever since I can remember. I was intrigued by all the chemicals, formulas, elements, and the all mathematics that was involved. As for technology I always loved playing around with computer, being able to see how they work in and outside just fascinated me. Now I’m able to see that this is becoming something of the future and I hope that I can be part of something greater, something that will advance into a new era in history. This is something I love and I will make it a reality. Now that it comes time to decide what I want to be, I’m leaning more towards the technology so this will be based upon the view of a Computer Scientist.
Computer scientists are the designers, creators, and inventors of new technology. The widespread and increasing use of computers and information technology has generated a need for highly trained, innovative workers with extensive academic expertise. By creating new technology, or finding alternative uses for existing resources, they solve complex business, scientific, and general computing problems. Some computer scientists work on many types of projects such as collaborating with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and other specialists to complete their tasks.
Computer scientists conduct research on a wide selection of topics. They include computer hardware architecture, virtual reality, and robotics. They design computer chips and processors, using new materials and techniques to make them work faster and give them more computing power. For a career, I would like to be involved in the fast developing computer industry and more particularly with the Internet. I think it has immense potential and I would like to be able to develop the Internet to make it help the lives of day to day people. In this way I would also like to help make computers more like humans with for example voice operated user interfaces.
If the nineteenth century was an era of the Industrial revolution in Europe, I would say that computers and Information Technology have dominated since the twentieth century. The world today is a void without computers, be it healthcare, commerce or any other field, the industry won’t thrive without Information Technology and Computer Science. This ever-growing field of technology has aroused interest in me since my childhood. After my twelfth grade, the inherent ardor I held for Computer Science motivated me to do a bachelors degree in Information Technology. Programming and Math, a paragon of logic and reasoning, have always been my favorite subjects since childhood.
Right now I have a fairly accurate idea concerning what I want to do with my life. My love for computers has taken me a long way and I have a strong feeling that I will continue in the field of computer science. Yet, I am also aware that I may change my mind several times before I begin a career. College will introduce me to new and various things, and I will develop new interests from this exposure. The world of technology is changing rapidly and computers seem like the best way to go. When I combine that and my love for computers I am almost certain that the field of computer science is right for me.

Imagine having a computer without running software. Computers would be slightly pointless without programs to run it. There would be no directions in the computer to tell it how to run, where to run, and what to do. A computer would have the ability to turn on, but a blank screen would be the only thing to appear on a monitor. I am sure that the question of "Who creates these programs?" has run through many minds in the past. These programs aid you in typing papers, connect you to the Internet, send information to other computers, or provide an interface for games that help to occupy your time. Computer programmers are the individuals that create and work with these programs. On a broad scale, computer programmers write the programs, test the programs, and then maintain the programs that millions of people use daily (Computer Programming 243-249). The every day duties of a computer programmer include investigating work requests from system analysts, understanding the problem and the desired resolution, choosing an appropriate approach, and planning an outcome that will tell the mechanism what to do to produce the desired results. Programmers must be experienced in high levels of mathematics, computer science, and programming languages. A programmer must also have experience with critical thinking, reading comprehension, and deductive reasoning. Programmers need to master these subjects, since they write in a language different from everyday English or French.

But even more important than writting code, a good programer must be able to solve problems and think logicaly.

Unlike many students who are unsure of the specialty they wish to pursue when entering college, my goal has always been to become a computer engineer.
