In today’s contemporary world, technology has been seemingly omnipresent, in particular, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) have long been exhilarating and potential in a few recent years. Notwithstanding their restricted pragmatic application, specifically in the traditional business setting, the technologies and their adoption have come a long way currently, especially as the international economy has increasingly developed and the inspection on functional efficiency, security and training have increased considerably. AR and VR are not novel concepts, they are increasingly used in technologies; however, the two terms appear to be bewildering to the users, so understanding their definitions is the fundamental step before figuring …show more content…
Pokémon Go, for example, is a virtual game on smartphone, but the coordinates of the player and map are based on reality. It illustrates how a smartphone user can interact with something that they see in their normal environment and something that they know for certain does not exist in reality. Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality are close cousins. Both of the technologies have gained much research and attention these days as well as promised substantial improvement. Though they both have the enormous capacity to alter our awareness of the world, they are distinct from each …show more content…
In fact, they are often merged together to create a stronger experience. An example of a collaboration between the two realities is haptic feedback, this is the quiver and emotion inserted to interaction with graphics which is considered as an augmentation. Nevertheless, in the frame of virtual reality, it is usually employed to make the experience more realistic through touch (Augments, 2016). By the way of conclusion, it must be clear that VR and AR and two different concepts. While AR is the perfect mix of the fabricated and real world, VR allows the users experience the artificially-created world more. Alone or blended together, AR and VR are superb experiences of science and entertainment and undoubtedly they have been increasingly applied in manifold
While critics may think that virtual reality is still a far cry from actual reality, they may not know how close virtual reality
Augmented Reality (AR) is a real time direct or indirect view of the physical real world that is enhanced or augmented with computer generated information. AR is both interactive and registered in 3D, combining real and virtual objects. AR enhances a user’s perception of the real world and the way they interact with it. The augmented Reality’s main purpose is simplifying the user’s life, by bringing virtual information to their immediate surroundings through an indirect view of the real-world environment. Although augmented reality is like Virtual reality (VR), AR is an enhanced view of the real world, where VR is a pure virtual environment.
Augmented reality is a medium that gives us the ability to experience the combination of reality and superimposed or virtual objects
The story of augmented reality goes back as far as the early 1900’s when L. Frank Baum wrote the “novel The Master Key. Printed in 1901, the book mentions a “character marker” set of electronic spectacles that when you view someone through them would show a letter on that person’s forehead regarding their character.” However, the first invention to use some type of augmented reality would not come along till 1968 and Ivan E. Sutherland and his head mounted three dimensional display. “The fundamental idea behind the three-dimensional display is to present the user with a perspective image which changes as he moves.” This would allow for an illusion of 3D on a 2D plane. This however, wasn’t true augmented reality; yes this augmented what you see on a screen and gave an illusion of 3 dimensions, but it does not overlay actual reality with com...
Google glass capabilty to augment reality makes it probable to become widely used and be one of the most promising ”wearable computing” device. The augmented reality in google glass can be used in practical scenarios such as translating and presenting text to the user in realtime, or can be used as navigation system by showing location of the user on the map.
Definition of virtual reality is "A technology that assures participants that he was actually in another place by replacing the main sensory input with data received by the computer" [6] [10]. One of the key elements of the virtual reality of cyberspace; it is a space fantasy or simulation environment. Which is always linked here is a virtual world and immersion virtual reality, perception is born into the world of alternatives such as ethereal or other point of view of our world
The visualization part refers to the computer generating visual, auditory or other sensual outputs to the user of a world within the computer. This world may be a CAD model, a scientific simulation, or a view into a database. The user can interact with the world and directly manipulate objects within the world. Some worlds are animated by other processes, perhaps physical simulations, or simple animation scripts. Interaction with the virtual world, at least with near real time control of the viewpoint, is a critical test for a 'virtual reality'.
30 years ago, virtual reality or VR was not even thought of. And now we have advanced virtual reality gaming setups costing thousands. Virtual reality has been around for roughly 10 years now and some say that is it here to stay, while others say it will die off soon. I am a gamer at heart but have not been around virtual reality enough to know all about it, other than the fact that it is fun and seems like we have only scratched the surface. My goals are to gather a bit more knowledge on current virtual reality tech, what’s to come of virtual reality, and virtual reality’s effect on gaming.
Virtual art is the product of long-standing traditions in art merged with revolutionary technological advances. With innovations emerging almost as fast as end-users can test and master new systems, technology has dramatically altered our daily lives and changed our thought processes. Like many technological advances, virtual and cyber realities have been embraced, and often created by, artists that experiment with the myriad of possibilities that technology can offer. While there have been many works of art inspired and created by means of digital advances, the medium has yet to be defined and its boundaries have not yet been identified. Since technology and virtual art are just beginning to be explored, the medium is in its infancy and thus cannot be judged based upon traditional mores of art. Before virtual art can achieve prominence and respect within the art world, many barriers of tradition must first be abolished.
As games become more advanced, game developers aim to create games that offer a more realistic experience. The technology has advanced to such a stage that making the games look real is no problem, but making a truly immersive experience is something different. That's where physics comes in. Well, to answer that, you have to have a basic understanding of physics. Physics is the study of matter and energy, and how the two interact with each other.
According to Oxford dictionaries, “Augmented Reality” is a technology that provides the user with a computer-produced image of the real world (“Augmented Reality”). A source states that augmented reality in programming language is the process of combining images and videos from the real world with computer generated data. The development of the new computers has made it possible to engage data with augmented reality. The practical uses of augmented reality started with military instruments such as real time video displays that were being used in airplanes and tanks to detect targets accurately. Augmented reality was also used in video games to increase the realism of the game.
The ability to superimpose real-time computer animation onto the real world is commonly known as augmented reality (AR). AR differs from virtual reality where it requires the real time markers for it to function. It allows merging of virtual information with the real environment to provide users with more immersive interaction with their surroundings. AR provides new experience of the real world that is unlike another computer animation that draws the users away from the real world and onto the screen (Hainich & Rolf, 2006).

Augmented reality (AR) is the virtual object which is combination of 3D real environment in the real time. It is more interactive either with graphics or audio enhancing from what we can sense such smell, hear, see or feel it. In other words, it is duplicate the environment around the world in computer. There are applications in various areas in augmented reality and one of them is medical visualization more domain for augmented reality. The topic that discussed is augmented reality application in computer aided surgery and medicine. In research article (Tobias Sielhorst, Marco Feuerstein & Nassir Navab, 2008) medical augmented reality takes it motivation from the need of visualizing medical data and the patient within the same physical space. The reason for chose this topic because it is because this application more advance and the technologies always bring new visualization and interaction using augmented reality in 3D in surgery performing requirements. So, discussing these topics actually need many evaluations to perceive the result to the area of surgery and medicine in medical performance.
There is no denying the fact that VR is the future. If you see industry trends, the rate at which VR is becoming mainstream is staggering as almost 75% of the biggest corporations are now investing in this technology. They see the potential and the interest the people have and are constantly working on improving the current virtual reality systems.
