Recommended: Lincoln's view on slavery
The best presidents that the United states has ever seen have to have been Abe Lincoln or George Washington. They were both loyal and cared about their country. George Washington founded the base for our beautiful country that we live in to this day. Abe Lincoln put a stop to slavery during his presidency before he was shot in the back of the head and murdered in the Ford Theater. They both put a lot of time and effort into building our country up. George Washington was an Army general and fought in many hard battles in the cold and across rivers and lakes. We have a lot to thank these men for and lots to learn from their noble actions. Living in their legacy is the whole United States that thanks them for their service. Another great president
was Teddy Roosevelt because he has a cool name and had lots of cool dogs.
Jackson and Lincoln are considered the best presidents in United States history for many reasons. Jackson was president when the country seemed to be more stable and at peace. Lincoln was President when there was more conflict and war.
Throughout the years, we have had a total of forty-five presidents. Those of all which have all had both numerous successes and failures. An interesting president to evaluate, however, is Gerald Ford. He was not in office for very long but left still managed to leave a clear impact on the United States.
The essays, “Death of Abraham Lincoln” and “The Timely Death of President Harding”, critique society’s tendency to respect the dead and glorify the presidents’ former lives regardless of their characteristics while living.
How many Americans recognize the man on the back of the one hundred dollar bill? Do you know who he is and why he is on the back of that bill? If you said George Washington then you are right! It is said that when one begins something that others will follow behind you and in George Washington's case that is correct. George Washington paved the way for many other presidents that followed after him up until the one we currently have today. Without our first president we would not have our current president. George Washington made huge contributions and achievements to our country that still stand today.
Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln were both great people and they both did amazing things during their lifespan. Both of these historical cons have their similarities and differences. Like Harriet Tubman was nicknamed “Moses” because she rescued and freed so many slaves. Abraham Lincoln was nicknamed “The Man With Many Faces” because nobody really knew the real Abraham Lincoln, not even his wife knew the real him. Also Harriet Tubman was a woman who freed slaves and took part in The Civil War as a soldier, spy, and nurse. Abraham Lincoln took part as a strategist, but some of the soldiers and military generals disagreed with some of his plans, and at the end of the war he ended slavery by signing a proclamation.
Without a doubt, there have been great presidents throughout American history. The subject of the matter is debatable about who has done the best job for the position. When you ask Americans who the greatest president ever to serve is, five names would be repetitive: Andrew Jackson, George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln is more than likely always at the top of the list. He is commonly known as the best president of the United States and I can't help but agree. President Lincoln has had numerous achievements, such as ending slavery, modernizing the economy, and preserving the Union.
Throughout the 20th century we have had many presidents, good and bad, but George Herbert Walker Bush stands out as far superior to his competition. For his great works he won the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011. Only the elite can achieve such an honor. It is because of his reserved, diplomatic, protecting, and empathic nature that he reigns supreme. His presidency will live on for all to remember. For as long as the Earth is still spinning, all win remember George Herbert Walker Bush.
One of the many brilliant things Ben Franklin once said was, “Well done is better than well said.” Being a pioneer of electricity, the inventor of bifocals, and one of the founding fathers of the United State’s constitution, Franklin knew more than a little about changing society and history for the better. The ideals of this successful man are parallel to the ideas of John Ruskin, who describes that as a society, “What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do.” This is outlook is accurate because, quite simply, there is a higher impact when something is done compared to when something is simply just thought.
There have been over 40 presidents in the history of the United States. There have been 43 presidents to be exact. Of these 43 Presidents of the United States, there are only about 15 of whom the average American might know. However, the most famous of these Presidents are George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. These two amazing leaders of our country have shown the world what it really means to be a good example to those who follow them. They are men of honor and made this great nation a beautiful and free place to live. Their love for their country and the steps that they took to becoming amazing and passionate leaders are ideas that we, as citizens of the United States, should be aware of. The childhood, the steps they took to careers in politics, and the effort that they put forth to make this nation a better place are stories that need to be told.
Have you ever heard something that you think is wrong, and wanted to let people what you think and make a difference? It is important to say what you think is right and take a stand because If you don’t there is no chance things will change.
Out of all of the great president to take office, very few have left their mark on histor in the nation. Few have made a revolutionary decision that would change the course of history not only in the country, but in the world as it was. This revolutionary decision was that of the Emancipation Proclimation, made by the entitled "The Great Emancipator," Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest president in americsan history because he not only transformed the nation by freeing slaves and making their dreams a reality, but also the fact that he made an active attempt to stay unbiased within his position by listening to the opposing parties and what they desired as well.
Abraham Lincoln as America’s greatest president was brought up in the history’s Taking Sides: Clashing Views on Controversial Issues in America’s History textbook, where two authors argued whether he was the greatest president or not the greatest president in American History. One author agrees that he was the greatest because he succeeded in preserving the Union and Freeing the Slaves and another one argues that he was not the greatest president because he marked a serious departure from the republican goals of the Founding Fathers. There have been many presidents in the united states that have been great presidents and rulers. Since American has won its Independence from Great Britain there have been presidents ruling the continent. From the very first president, George Washington to the present president Barack Obama there have been numerous presidents
The U.S has had many great presidents throughout its history. From the freedom fighter, George Washington, to the abolitionist, Abraham Lincoln, it is obvious the rooster of great presidents isn't short of names. But the president that rises above the rest has to be Theordore Roosevelt. This is because of his foreign policy, unbreakable determination, and his domestic policy.
Ever since we declared independance from Great Britain the people of the United States of America have decided that our goverment should be a democracy. And with every democracy comes a president. Now most presidents have been pretty average but when you think some outstandings presidents three probably come to mind, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson. Out of these three amazing presidents, in my opinoun Abraham Lincoln was the strongest all arouind president for two major reasons, He stood by his values in hardships of the war and came to power at a rough time in our history.
Abraham Lincoln was the best president in my opinion that the US has had. Leaving a legacy behind, by when we celebrate Abraham Lincoln we don't just celebrate his birthday but we celebrate the freedom he fought for.
