Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln were both great people and they both did amazing things during their lifespan. Both of these historical cons have their similarities and differences. Like Harriet Tubman was nicknamed “Moses” because she rescued and freed so many slaves. Abraham Lincoln was nicknamed “The Man With Many Faces” because nobody really knew the real Abraham Lincoln, not even his wife knew the real him. Also Harriet Tubman was a woman who freed slaves and took part in The Civil War as a soldier, spy, and nurse. Abraham Lincoln took part as a strategist, but some of the soldiers and military generals disagreed with some of his plans, and at the end of the war he ended slavery by signing a proclamation. Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln have many similarities. For instance like Harriet Tubman and Abe Lincoln both did not like slavery.They also both fought in the civil war for the side of anti-slavery. Also Harriet Tubman was a woman so that minimized her rights a lot more than just being a slave. The best presidents that the United states has ever seen have to have been Abe Lincoln or George Washington. They were both loyal and cared about their country. George Washington founded the base for our beautiful country that we live in to this day. Abe Lincoln put a stop to slavery during his presidency before he was shot in the back of the head and murdered in the Ford Theater. They both put a lot of time and effort into building our country up. George Washington was an Army general and fought in many hard battles in the cold and across rivers and lakes. They are both telling true facts about slavery but they explain them differently. The story Harriet Tubman talks about her life when she was young and how. She learned her life living on a plantation. The story “ The People Could Fly,” Sarah talks about her terrible life as a slave. The main things I will talk about is, escaping, father and daughter relationship and secretive language.

I believe that Harriet Tubman is a great hero. Here on the plantation, we don’t really hear about much, but we knew of the great Moses. Being a slave in the South, escaping seemed like nothing but a farfetched dream, but Moses gives people like me hope. Mom would always tell us famous quotes that Harriet would use to encourage slaves, things like “We got to go free or die, and freedom’s not bought with dust.” That quote always proved to me how determined Harriet was to bring fugitives up North. Harriet Tubman was a selfless woman, who devoted her life to save others. Many other slaves from the South escaped to freedom in the North like Tubman. Many of these people stayed where they were free, frightened to go anywhere near the South again. However, that was not Tubman, she was different. She wanted everyone to have the feeling of freedom that she had newly discovered. Harriet was known “to bring people of her race from bondage to liberty,” (S Bradford et al 1869). Harriet Tubman is one of only a handful of brave women in history. She was very strict with her refugee’s and because of this she helped to save more than 75,000 people. She had been a slave her whole life and when she was lead to freedom by a conductor, she knew she had to go back and save her family and friends. After she saved her family and friends, she went back to save more. She was very courageous and never wander off track and never, ever, lost a passenger. She felt that she would never be free until everyone she possibly could save, were safe.
