Ever since we declared independance from Great Britain the people of the United States of America have decided that our goverment should be a democracy. And with every democracy comes a president. Now most presidents have been pretty average but when you think some outstandings presidents three probably come to mind, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson. Out of these three amazing presidents, in my opinoun Abraham Lincoln was the strongest all arouind president for two major reasons, He stood by his values in hardships of the war and came to power at a rough time in our history.
My first reason why Abraham Lincoln was the strongest president is because he stood by his beliefs through the darkest times in the war. Through
The best presidents that the United states has ever seen have to have been Abe Lincoln or George Washington. They were both loyal and cared about their country. George Washington founded the base for our beautiful country that we live in to this day. Abe Lincoln put a stop to slavery during his presidency before he was shot in the back of the head and murdered in the Ford Theater. They both put a lot of time and effort into building our country up. George Washington was an Army general and fought in many hard battles in the cold and across rivers and lakes. We have a lot to thank these men for and lots to learn from their noble actions. Living in their legacy is the whole United States that thanks them for their service. Another great president
Jackson and Lincoln are considered the best presidents in United States history for many reasons. Jackson was president when the country seemed to be more stable and at peace. Lincoln was President when there was more conflict and war.
Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest presidents to ever serve in office in the history of the U.S., serving from 1860 to 1865. A self-educated attorney from Illinois, he proved himself to be a brilliant leader throughout the Civil War period. Although President Abraham Lincoln faced the biggest crisis in American history, he saved the nation by preserving the Union during the Civil War, boosting the economy, by fighting for the abolition of slavery, and by boosting the Northern economy.
Lincoln had been one of the stronger presidents with all the difficulties. he ran into the room. The decisions were very critical and were thought out with extreme care. I will be there. By Lincoln serving as president, we prospered in many ways.
Who was the greatest president of the United States? There have been many great presidents in the history of the U.S. Many presidents have led our country through very trying times. Some people believe Lincoln was the greatest president. However, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt led our country at times when a great leader was needed. Franklin D. Roosevelt was the greatest president of the United States because of his New Deal, his great leadership skills, and his strong and deep connection to the people of the United States.
I feel that Lincoln might have lead this country through one of the deepest politic crisis. His style of leadership is mostly bias and after trying to find out which one he was and after looking at many type of leadership styles he is I agree with the New York Times saying that he is a exemplary leader. The reason I agree with
Without a doubt, there have been great presidents throughout American history. The subject of the matter is debatable about who has done the best job for the position. When you ask Americans who the greatest president ever to serve is, five names would be repetitive: Andrew Jackson, George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln is more than likely always at the top of the list. He is commonly known as the best president of the United States and I can't help but agree. President Lincoln has had numerous achievements, such as ending slavery, modernizing the economy, and preserving the Union.
Abraham Lincoln is regarded by many Americans as the greatest president to ever hold office in the history of the United States, and his reputation is definitely well deserved. Lincoln wasn't scared to stand up and fight for what he knew was right. He was convinced that within the branches of government, the presidency alone was empowered not only to uphold the Constitution, but also to protect, and defend it. Lincoln was able to lead our country and preserve the Union, keeping the United States from splintering during the devastating times of the Civil War. As President, he built the Republican Party into a strong national organization, and he rallied most of the northern Democrats to the Union cause. On January 1, 1863, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that changed the war into a battle for freedom and declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy. That November, Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address, which stated how a country must be dedicated to human freedom in order to survive. He dedicated the battlefield to the soldiers who had perished, and called on the living to finish the task the dead soldiers had begun. (Donald, 1995) Lincoln believed that democracy could be a lasting form of government. He showed a nobility of character that had worldwide appeal, and he was a man of great integrity. However, Lincoln was not only the 16th president of the United States, he was an American hero. Lincoln was a well-rounded individual and he had numerous outstanding qualities. However, it is important to remember that Lincoln also led a private life, complete with close friends and family.
The President is the first responsible for the well-being and survival of the nation during crisis and war times. We can not say that Abraham Lincoln’s management was truely for the good of his people because he brought war. however, as many historians argued that more importently then keeping the nation together and ending slavery; his greatest achievement was his ability to energize acting "with malice towards none" in the pursuit of a more perfect, more just, and more enduring Union. Therefore, it is agreed on that to no president in the American history ever succeded to confront such a great crisis and no president ever accomplished as much as he
I think still that Abraham Lincoln is still the best president and all the problems that happen in his life made him who he was neither though he got assassinated he will always be an inspiration for other presidents.
Now presidents have an army system that chooses for them, but at the time Lincoln had to chose them himself. Also, back in 1833, Abe had to proclaim bankruptcy. This caused his business to fail. Abraham also ran for state legislature in Illinois, but unfortunately lost. On the other hand, one of Lincoln’s biggest strengths was his determination. Lincoln had a lot of setbacks due to the the Civil War, but he didn’t let that stop him and he kept going. Of course, one of Lincoln’s biggest accomplishments was when he became president! Also, more people started to acknowledge him for his coraguesness when he put an end to slavery. Obviously, he had more ups than downs. Abe was known for his complete honesty when he attended national events for speeches. He gain the nickname “Honest Abe.” During the Civil War’s most outstanding battles, Lincoln gave a speech during his presidency that many people adored. The best quote from the speech is, "Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created
He also had some weaknesses, as in easily influenced. One of my favorite strengths of Lincoln is his leadership. That one is my favorite because, he lead people, and helped them in many ways. For a couple examples of his leadership is anaconda plan that he said the final go ahead on, and the Emancipation Proclamation that I have mentioned in the previous paragraph. The Anaconda Plan was a strategy created by Union General Winfield Scott in 1861, early on in the Civil War. It called for strangling the Southern Confederacy, like an Anaconda. Now that we have went through some of his strengths, let's go through some of his weaknesses. One of his weaknesses is the poor choice of generals in the civil war. Lincoln could never really identify really good military leader ship. He had to pick his generals and he picked a number of bad ones, and stuck with them too long. A big example of this is with George McClellan even as McClellan lack of aggression frustrated
Abraham Lincoln, who is commonly referred to as Honest Abe, was the sixteenth president of the United States of America. He was the first Republican to hold the title of United States president. His presidency spanned what is arguably our country’s most difficult time, the Civil War. He was able to help prevent the permanent division of the country while also emancipating slaves in the process. His bravery and dedication to America throughout his time in office-and the years before- are what cause many Americans- then and now- to consider Abraham Lincoln the greatest president of the United States.
Lincoln i believe was the best when it came to his strong leadership. “Lincoln surrounded himself with people, including his rivals, who had strong egos and high ambitions; who felt free to question his authority’ and who were also unafraid to argue with him.” This proved that Lincoln had strong leadership in the way that he was not afraid to be around his rivals, and that he did have enough self control and respect to take their high ambitions, and strong egos. I believe Lincoln was a very humble man and was not into arguing or bickering about things when it could be settled in a much more professional way. Which also shows that he cared more about the union and the things it needed, rather than his rivals. Franklin Roosevelt also showed strong leadership by, “He had the strength and the leadership abilities to win World War 2, he handled the delicate diplomacy in dealing with wartime US allies, like Churchill, stalin and De Gauile and Chiang Kai-Chek” We know throughout the course of history these
We will start off by disccussing what I believe to be as the strongest president of the three mentioned. Lincoln, like the other presidents had great success during their career as president but what truely made Lincoln stand out from the others was the fact that he succeed during a very difficult time period. "Lincoln had to handle a civil war a dispute that could have torn this country in half"(source 1). This quote shows that had it not been Lincoln as president during this time, we may not be where we are today.
