Cole Do you think America could be better? because think it could be much better. The main reasons I think America could be better are, in this country there are more murders than any other country, here there are more gun exports than anywhere else, and our educational system is lacking. In the next paragraph I will go further in depth with these reasons. This is why I think America could be better and you should to. The murder rate is higher than any other country for every 100,000 people is the US around 3.5 people get killed every year. The the next country is chile for every 100,000 people around 2.5 people get killed. and there is 318.9 million people in the US alone that’s around 911 people a year that more than any other country. …show more content…
The chances of our guns getting to their real destination so most likely all the people we fight use our guns. The most recent guns we exported got stolen and never made it to their destination. We did not get any money and terrorist got a lot of guns. So when we fight our men get killed with guns we made. The kids in america's school system could use a tune up couldn’t it. The major flaw with the school system is not letting the students try as hard as they can in the subjects they think they're good at. The second biggest flaw is not teaching them how to do taxes or pay bills or write checks. The third biggest flaw is teaching us useless things like how many chromosomes are in a plant. In what cases is knowing how many chromosomes are in a plant going to be useful besides if you're a herbologist. For these reasons I think that america could be better, but with changes america could be the best country. Such as making it harder to pin point the weapon transfers. Letting students choose to something harder or letting them stay with what is required of them. The death rate it can be changed, but if people keep trying to make it harder to get guns and keep them the only people with guns are the bad
A vignette from The House on Mango Street, "Those Who Don't," by Sandra Cisneros, the poem "My Parents Kept Me from Children Who Were Rough," by Stephen Spender, and another poem "We Real Cool," by Gwendolyn Brooks share many similarities and differences. These three pieces of literature talk about racism and rough children. "Those Who Don't" is about racism and how people think about others without getting to know them. "My Parents Kept Me from Children Who Were Rough" explains how a good child wants to be like other children who are bad. "We Real Cool" talks about pool players who are bad. These pieces of literature compare and contrast between figurative language, point of view, and theme.
Our country was founded on the basis of guns. The wars were won with guns and the people were protected by guns. Guns were so important that they were placed in the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution:
Being a young American I have witnessed many problems with growing up in this great country of ours. We have homeless people who can 't find work, rising inflation rates, an unbalanced budget, and more importantly, a problem with guns.
Many events occurred during the start of the birth of America and during America's early years. These events all had their own outcome in how they affected, shaped, and changed the way America works today. Some events changed America in a different way than another event. In the end, each one of these events is special in its own way for how it shaped and developed America. If it was a war, a purchase, or a signing of a bill, these three events that will be described and explained all had an enormous impact of how things worked back then and eventually leading to the way things work and are today. These three things that happened by far have to be some of the greatest aspects that changed history.
The major reason that causes violence, death and the sufferance of people in the United States are the weapons--the guns. According to the statistic Thetrace.org provided, as of December 23, a total of 12,942 people had been killed in the U.S in 2015 in a gun homicide, unintentionally. In another word, 36 Americans are dead from a gunshot on average day, Thetrace.org stated. Even worse, “there were 372 mass shootings in the U.S. in 2015, killing 475 people and wounding 1,870” according to the Mass Shooting Tracker, which catalogues these incidents. Mass shootings — as measured by four or more people shot, regardless of total fatalities — have taken place in nearly 100 metro areas over the past 12 months,
More deaths occur in this country because of guns than in any other country in the world. Why is this? Although the film discusses this question in depth, there is never an answer really given. It makes you think about it yourself and ask questions. That is one of the reasons why I enjoyed the film. It gives you all different perspectives on guns and violence and lets you decide what you believe. You can see this clearly in the film. Michael Moore, the director and producer of the film, is a member of NRA but at the same time is criticizing the way guns are used in the United States. He gives you clear point of views from multiple sides. In the film it is stated that the Americans are very anxious people, which come for example from all the pictures about war and bloodshed shown in the television every day! Nearly every American has a gun to defend his house from burglars, while the Canadians never lock their house doors, even if there was a break-in once in their house. But the American media can 't be the only reason for
What is American Exceptionalism? It is a concept, originally stated by Alexi De Tocqueville, that refers to how the United States and its people are special in the sense that they offer opportunity and are a symbol of hope based off democratic ideals and personal liberty (American Exceptionalism). The idea also considers the United States to be a model for the world and holds the divine right to lead. American Exceptionalism might have been a widely accepted term historically, but today no longer seems to holding as high a value as it used to. The notion of American Exceptionalism is no longer as effective due to the fact that the United States no longer stands on values such as freedom and hard work, but itself has become a vile brand focused
Research shows that the United States has the highest gun related murder rates in the world. In 2008, roughly 16,272 murders were committed in the U.S. Of these murders, about 10,886 or 67% were committed with firearms (Agresti and Smith). “At the current homicide rate, roughly one in every 240 Americans will be murdered” (Agresti and Smith). This shows that guns don’t make a country safer and arming everyone would not help reduce death. This is a large amount that’s scary to think about, but with stricter gun laws, the amount of people losing their lives will
.The UK has approximately 125 percent more rape victims per 100,000 people each year than the United States. As Well as approximately 133 percent more assault victims per 100,000 people each year than the United States does. The UK also has the 4th highest burglary rate in the EU and second overall highest crime rate. Also Australia was a part of a gun ban and soon after it was instated murder rates went up nineteen percent and armed robbery rates rocketed by sixty nine percent. As said in an artical i read at Town hall.com “the way to increase safety is not to take away the rights of responsible gun owners, including those wishing to protect themselves and their loved ones. Instead, by ensuring that those who obey the law can remain the first line of defense against violence, America will become better equipped to handle potential tragedies as they
Due to the powers looming over the Third World countries, they had to make a choice to choose the government the country desired the most or become a non-aligned country. The two powers influencing these third world countries were America and Russia. Both nations had superior military power over any third-world countries at the time, along with ways of using espionage and other tactics to destroy the nation.America wanted countries to become capital, while Russia wanted neighboring countries to become communist. The two countries would sabotage the other’s progress as shown in an event in Guatemala, where the official of the country was accused of considering communism as a possible outcome.America reacted to Guatemala negatively by funding the
The American culture is characterized by republicanism which primarily governs the administration system. The large American population is the source of diversity since many individuals from different backgrounds are all united under the same flag, the American flag. Despite the degree of diversity in culture in America, citizens are always united under the same rules regulations and legislations. Therefore, there are common traits and values common amongst American citizens; these shared values are the source of American unity. However, not all common values reflect an individual`s personal values, which may differ depending on various factors such as background and culture.
Education is crucial for success even though it takes a lot of time and energy. The educational system has been improved in many ways in most countries. Many countries have different ways of offering education because of their wealth and other reasons. Also, people travel from one country to another to get a quality education. Some countries give their citizens education for free while others charge a lot of money. Those who charge a lot might give a worthy education because they spend a lot to make sure they are giving a decent education. The education system in the U.S and my country, Ethiopia, mainly differ in course requirements and available resources.
For instance, the way that psychology is taught as an undergraduate and a graduate program in China verses America. Chinese students tend to choose to study abroad for psychology in America for the benefit of the numerous undergraduate and graduate programs that are offered all over the country. Not only does America obtain so many different programs, there is also an abundance of developing and available jobs in the field of psychology that are readily available in China. The two Universities that are being compared is the PeKing University (PKU) in Beijing and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) located in Central Texas. Some of the more obvious differences include that UMHB offers not only a Bachelors in Science for psychology, but
No guns means less and less murders and that is a good reason to get rid of guns completely. There are countries that have banned the sale and use of guns, and in those countries the murder and accidental death rate is lower than the US. The other side to this is that countries without guns find other ways to kill people. For example Yemen doesn’t use guns, but their death rate are caused by knives. They find other ways to kill each other.
CBS News (2016), Americans are ten more times likely to be killed by guns than people in other developed countries. But this proofs that even though they are the 51th safest country in the world they still need to improve on their gun control. Can one think that in the U.S there is enough guns of every man, woman and child according to BBC (2016). Why would someone want to have a mass productions of guns for everyone. It would make the whole country uncontrollable. The government need to realize that if they let this happen in the future the U.S is going to become a
