According to the statistic Thetrace.org provided, as of December 23, a total of 12,942 people had been killed in the U.S in 2015 in a gun homicide, unintentionally. In another word, 36 Americans are dead from a gunshot on average day, Thetrace.org stated. Even worse, “there were 372 mass shootings in the U.S. in 2015, killing 475 people and wounding 1,870” according to the Mass Shooting Tracker, which catalogues these incidents. Orlando shooting was caused by Omar Mateen, an American-born who pledged allegiance to with ISIS. The shooting took in Pulse, which describes itself as "the hottest gay bar" in the heart of Orlando. According to a U.S. official, he called 911 during the attack to pledge allegiance to ISIS and mentioned the Boston bombers. Mateen carried an assault rifle and a pistol into the club about 2 a.m. on Sunday and started the shoot. “After a standoff of about three hours, while people trapped inside the club desperately called and messaged friends and relatives, police crashed into the building with an armored vehicle and stun grenades and killed Mateen,” informs CNN. “At first it sounded like it was part of the show because there was an event going on and we were all having a good time," clubgoer Andy Moss said.
