A community is to help and support each other to be successful. Everyone is involved in a certain community regardless of anything. A community I am commit with is CAMP from CSUMB which stands for College Assistance Migrant Program. My community is a federally funded program that assists first year freshmen who have a migrant background and students whose parents are seasonal farmworkers. CAMP assist their students with many useful services such as with a grant of up to 1,200 dollars. My community is very important to me for the reason they are guiding me to be successful while encouraging me to graduate from college. In my community we tend to communicate really often such as in the article "Learning to Serve" by Toni Mirabelli. As in the article, my community also communicates by using various literacy such as writing, reading , and speaking.
The Library of Hattiesburg, Petal and Forrest County is located in Forrest County, Mississippi. This public library system is headquartered in Hattiesburg, MS, and has an additional branch in Petal, MS. The library began serving the reading needs of the community with a circulating collection of books in 1916. Later that year it relocated to the lounge of the first floor of the Forrest County Courthouse. During World War I, the American Library Association established twelve branch libraries in Hattiesburg to serve citizens and soldiers at Camp Shelby. Then the first public library building was dedicated on Main Street Hattiesburg in May 1930. The current building was opened in March 1996 and is located at 329 Hardy Street. The library features tributes to the state in the Mississippi Tower, Mississippi Room, Genealogy and Observation Level and the Author’s Walk honoring great Mississippi authors. The centerpiece is The Spirit that Builds, a 10-foot-high, 167-foot-around mural which hangs 30 feet above the circulation desk. As young people’s civic and political participation continues to decline, a number of organizations are working to reverse the decline by increasing opportunities for youth to participate. Communities around the country are taking steps to engage young people through a variety of methods that allow youth to actually participate in policy development and take action on local issues. The effectiveness of such community programs on long-term civic engagement is not well documented, however. This paper presents preliminary research about the effectiveness of one community participation program, the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s Youth Advisory Council. Quantitative and anecdotal evidence, while not conclusive, suggest this community problem solving approach may encourage its participants to engage in other civic and political activities. The paper also discusses the benefits that organizations and communities receive when young people participate in this way, and provides recommendations for developing a similar youth participation program.
The Life in the Community Reading focus on the decline of people with developmental disabilities in the community and the public establishments that housed them. Internships should first be examined that, when implemented at fullest potential, these opportunities can provide companies and students with a competitive edge in today’s business world. Subsequently, it can be shown that internships assist organizations and companies with temporary or seasonal project and task completion. Lastly, internships will be clarified as to how they allow students to gain valuable experience before entering the workforce. From reviewing an ample amount of research, internships are beneficial and advantageous to the success of a young student, as well as companies.
The entire community plays an essential role in the growth and development of children within our community. As a school leader, building an inclusive school culture that is open and friendly to all stakeholders using a variety of effective methods is crucial. There is no magic formula to incorporating a positive school culture, much depends on the leadership of the campus. The leadership on campus cultivates the climate providing support and respect for everyone invested in the student’s education.

Getting the youth involved is not the easiest thing to do. It is helping them realize the importance of becoming involved with the community. Also, parents and the community needs be more involved with our youth. It is about taking time for our youth and helping them grow up in a positive environment. A barrier for this can be tough because of how we reach out to our youth. They need motivation and they need a leader to reach out to them. It can be hard getting our community together, but once we are together we can easily guide our youth toward the right path. I believe a community is about developing relationships and working with one another to complete tasks and to help encourage everyone. I want to have a crime free environment
Introducing myself, I am Sharanya Varatharajoo, a third-year Petroleum Geoscience student in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). In third year second semester, all students must register the subject of HDB1012 Community Engagement Project. It also known as MPU4 which stands for Mata Pelajaran Umum in Malay Language. The Ministry of Education Malaysia has authoritatively reported the offering of General Studies or Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) to supplant the Malaysian National Subjects (MNS) for all private advanced education establishments in Malaysia. The objective of General Studies is to provide a holistic education across the disciplines for both Malaysian and International undergraduate students and opportunities to engage in diverse life-long learning skills while acquiring valuable knowledge. As for our community engagement project, the main objective is to enhance our social and interpersonal skills throughout the course. In relations towards our project, Ninjas for Nature, had a clear-cut outcome which is to provide a genuine and practical showcase of awareness towards the environment. Our sector of specific focus falls within the means of 3 main areas which is in terms of mangrove trees, sea turtles and sharks.
