In this reflection, describe an event or an experience in your life that will influence your academic work and goals at Colorado Christian University.
Experience and Goals The reason why I select Colorado Christian University (CCU) and why CCU influences me, is I want my life to continually focus on God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Our lives can become so hectic that it dulls the whispers of what God is telling us each day. The enemy is constantly working in distracting us and I need a constant reminder that God is with us even when our lives become demanding.
My goal with Colorado Christian University is to have complete motivation and attention on God’s word and stay on track with my studies. I believe CCU will have no
As ancient Rome began to fall, Christianity began rising. Around 2,000 years ago, Jesus of Nazareth was born, later to be known as the Messiah or Son of God. When people of the Roman era began to hear of such a powerful being, they began to convert to Christianity. Why did Christianity take hold on the ancient world; Christianity took hold on the ancient world because it offered immortality, equality, and it was spread like wildfire.
However, I believe God has lead me to Pepperdine to discover my true calling. Pepperdine will challenge me and help me discover the vocation God has planned for me. Pepperdine also had the tools to help me pursue my own personal career goals.
No matter the previous career path, preventive circumstances, prior academic history or lack of self-confidence, these colleges provide the tools for anyone to further their education. The common students at these facilities understand the importance of education because they’ve experienced the beast of life. One could argue that perhaps this understanding goes a bit deeper than that of one at a four year institution. Any way you slice it, community colleges offer the ability for everyone to academically arrive on common ground. This should be a triumph, not a

Many people would not believe that worldview would be involved in the topic of work, but it certainly is. Worldview stretches throughout almost every facet of our lives and is even an intricate part of work. Christian and secular viewpoints differ immensely when it comes to work. Many Christians believe that work is an intricate part of God’s plan for mankind while the secular viewpoint sees it as more of a personal, everyday activity the serves no more of a purpose that that of personal success. The secular worldview has distorted the context of work and only the Christian worldview can redeem it to its original context.
Charlie Christian (1916-1942) was the pioneer of the modern jazz guitar style and was the first major soloist on the electric guitar. In his hands the electric guitar became a distinct solo voice; equivalent of the saxophone, trumpet and clarinet, also capable of the same levels of expressiveness and intensity while playing in a jazz ensemble. Before Christian guitarists were un-amplified acoustic musicians who were relegated to strict rhythm-guitar roles in an ensemble. His efforts and genius with the electric guitar resulted in freeing the instrument in jazz bands specifically and in many other forms of music. Following Christian's initial appearance and short career, a school of want to be like Charlie emerged and spread his influence
... learned at CBU, in addition to ways such as challenging students to grow in their faith while learning. For example, I would suggest that they use ideas and scriptures that they learned in Bible study or in church within the past weeks of assignments. This will help to keep students engaged with the material and faith based concepts that they have learned within the weeks. Also, I think promoting attending CBU or church based activities for assignments can help students learn course material as well as grow in their faith. I believe that faith integration is an important component that CBU offers that many other universities do not. I can honestly speak to how beneficial it was for me to complete my program at CBU. I not only learned a wealth of knowledge in the counseling field but I grew as a Christian, which is something that I wish to pass on to future students.
Throughout this research paper, the discussion topic deals with whom or what Berea College should serve. Sources will be used to discuss the Appalachian region, Christian colleges, the Berea territory, and the history of Berea college. The topic of discrimination will also be discussed mainly focused upon what it is, how it can be used for good, and if it is okay to practice. Berea should primarily serve students who come from poor economic background regardless of their race, region, or religion because students might not have the same opportunities at another institution. Berea College should devote most of its acceptance percentage to the lower-class students of Appalachia. With the remainder percentage, Berea should accept lower class students
A college that has been changing the rules for colleges everywhere in the United States ever since its founding: Oberlin College. Since its beginning, this inspiring school has lead the example for other colleges to follow. Oberlin is an amazing school which has many opportunities available to its students, including many majors.
Ouachita Baptist University is not the traditional Liberal Arts University, however the school embraces the liberal arts tradition. As a Christian school Ouachita also focuses on spiritual growth as it says in the mission statement, “Embracing the liberal arts tradition, the university prepares individuals for ongoing intellectual and spiritual growth, lives of meaningful work, and reasoned engagement with the world.” By having us take Chapel and other religious courses as part of the core it helps us as Christians grow. Also as Ostrander states, “A Christian University seeks to provide an overarching framework that gives a sense of purpose and unity for everything from English literature to chapel to intramural soccer.” Through OBU students gain a well-rounded education taking not only classes for their majors but also classes in most subjects. In today’s society this is what Dr. Kagan thinks, “I suggest, should include a common core of studies for all its students. That would have many advantages, for it would create an intellectual communion among students and teachers that does not now exist and would encourage the idea that learning and knowledge are good things in themselves” (Donald Kagan). Although we have one degree we gain knowledge outside of that and it will help us out later in life.
What is Christianity all about? What are the basic beliefs of Christianity and how did it begin? According to (AllAboutReligion, 2010),” Christianity began about 2000 years ago in Judea, [presently known today as Israel] with Jesus Christ and His faithful group of disciples”. This paper will address the viewpoint of the Christian faith and its outcome. The central message of Christianity is based upon the teachings of Jesus and his promises. Christianity teaches that there is merely one God in all existence and that God created the universe. It also teaches that Jesus is the only way to be set free from the coming judgment of God and that Jesus desires his values and his standards to abound. Moreover, Christianity is the only religion that offers a savior. Religion has been in every culture since the beginning of human society and there are many religions competing for the heart of humanity throughout the world at large. The following characterizations are based on the Christian faith: redemption, covenant and grace. Although Christianity is a matter of choice for the human race, what type of influence did it have on the China, Africa, and Rome inhabitants?
Contribution of School of Alexandria: Alexandria is one of the greatest cities in Egypt. The Hebrew bible was translated into Greek Septuagint here. The Pantaenus was the first teacher of this school. Clement of Alexandria (A.D. 155-215) and Origen (A.D. 185-254) was the outstanding member of this school.
Going to a college that is not local means that my daily/weekly routine will be completely different. My church home will have to change and I will not have the same people in my daily life to keep me accountable with my walk with God. I also plan to try out for their all-girl cheerleading team. Just like anyone who does collegiate level sports, my schedule will be pretty busy. In order to keep a strong relationship with Christ, there are some things I will have to change.
