College Prep Reflection

When beginning my application and starting to consider what to write, I began to evaluate all my attributes and my reasoning for wanting to join the Depaul College Prep community, I was at a loss. It was not necessarily a humbleness, but more of a lack of reflection. When I began to contemplate who I am as a student and as a person I began to understand just how much I could contribute to a community like Depaul College Prep. Beginning when I was a kid, I was the loudest voice in the room and an ever standing presence, but not until recently did I begin to channel those traits into a more positive state of being. In my current school, I began to get involved in our student government group, and within one term I became the school president. Since November of 2017 I took charge and built an amazing group with involvement from students who struggled to even turn in assignments. The most recent fundraiser we held during a parent visiting weekend, our group raised over 380$ in two days. I have a ceaseless drive to help my school and my …show more content…

This is something I could exemplify. I am extremely friendly and kind, and can offer a lot of encouragement for peers. I also have a considerable amount of respect for authority and adults. A primary factor I can bring to depaul college prep is religious diversity. I was raised in a Jewish household, immersed in Jewish culture. I still feel strongly connected to my faith, but I also feel a sort of eagerness to learn about new faiths and practicing. I feel that most monotheistic religions have similar morals and beliefs with different practices. I think it is important to see less of the differences, and more of the similarities within different cultures and religions.
