Imagine a fifth grader having a fashion show for the upcoming talent show at school. From the beginning to the end, this little girl planned the entire show on her own. She had music, lights, friends to walk in the show, and of course she had the fashion. That fifth grader was me. I had been hearing about the talent show, but didn’t know specifically how to show my talent. Since being young I’ve always been fascinated with fashion so I had the idea of having a fashion show and entered the contest. I remember being very certain and bold about my decision. I had items that I had sewn by hand and they weren’t the best designs, but they were mine. I was ecstatic about the upcoming talent show and I even had a chance to walk in the show. I remember as a kid always having an eye for fashion. I liked how clothes looked and the accessories to match with it. With all the different colors, types of fabrics and materials, I would have so many ideas on what to create. I had so much fun sewing and creating new items. I loved fashion …show more content…
I went through grade school and during that time frame I never lost my desire. In high school, there was a period when my passion for the fashion world began to fade. My eighth-grade year I moved to Duluth from a small-town Chattanooga. My whole world had been changed. The move was exciting and adventurous, but I was homesick. It was tough for me in the beginning once I started school in Gwinnett county, but it eventually got better for me. I never gave up on school, I was committed to passing my classes. I had made up in my mind that I would graduate and get my education. Throughout my high school years there were times when the light bulb would turn on in my head and I would have these amazing ideas. Sometimes I would act on them and other times I wouldn’t. I’ve always had such a great love for the fashion industry, but I don’t think I knew how I would connect my passion with my
What started out as a hobby transformed into a passion for an art form that allows me to use movements and expressions to tell a story. Whether I’m on stage in front of an audience of just friends and family, hundreds of strangers and a panel of judges, or the whole school, performing over thirty times, has helped me build lifelong
I’ve always been a creative person since I was born, but it wasn’t until August 14, 2013, that I really understood that part of me. That day changed me for the better it was the day I saw my first Broadway show. It was the day I fell in love with the “city that never sleeps”, New York City, Times Square to be exact. A couple months prior I had really been invested in the show Wicked. I guess seeing musicals on broadway was the hit thing, because I became obsessed. Broadway shows just seemed like this magical experience like Disney World or Christmas. Then one day my father had gave in.
Who doesn’t love Fashion? I mean look at all the amazing clothes and accessories there is out there. Those designer bags, those cute pencil skirts, those nice sparkly high heels we wish we could wear but can’t really walk in high heels because it would trip and would leave us with appalling blisters. Fashion is everywhere. There are range of different amount of styles everywhere you go. Fashion is something where anyone can express themselves with. It allows them to be original, imaginative and self-confident. Anyone can be inspired by Fashion.
This profession also has a large business aspect to it and that intrigues me a lot. I have grown up always listening to my dad talk about business and the market and how “the business world” is very important, I’ve have just become more and more interested in finding out all about that. The world of fashion is something that I have always wanted to be a part of, and now, I am working my way there.
As I walk on the stage, I can see the spotlight shining on me. I can feel the butterflies in my stomach fluttering around. Suddenly, I remember the time when I was a little girl and I followed a butterfly a long ways. I ended up getting lost and wandering around in circles. Finally, I heard our cow’s bell clanking and I found my way home. I smiled as I sang “My coat of many colors that my momma made for me.” Being a singer was all I ever dreamed of.
When you love to do something, you want to do it every day, all the time, till you get sick of it. Even then that excitement and devotion to do it is still there. That is how I feel about art. I have a great passion for it. It is a form where I can express myself in a way words can’t.
Something interesting about me is that I love creating costumes and clothes. From the age of twelve, I was using hot glue and fabric to create cat ears as a costume for an anime convention that I would go to with my friend and her family. Two years after that, I created a costume for a video game character named Freddy Fazbear. It was a simple costume because I did not know how to sew yet, but after taking a one week sewing class during the summer, I was able to create clothes for myself. A month after the sewing class, I went on to create an entire costume for another video game character that I loved. The costume that I created was made up of a tank top, a hooded jacket, a pair of shorts, a pair of shoes, and a staff with the character’s
From the moment I starting my educational path I knew four years wouldn’t be enough to fill me with all the dimensions of the fashion industry. This led me to make my decision to apply for the M.S. Global Fashion Enterprise degree. When asked how this program at Philadelphia University would benefit me, I will begin by giving a background on my previous education. I started my undergraduate degree at Buffalo State College in upstate New York pursuing a Bachelor degree in Fashion Merchandising. After being in the program for a year I was confident in knowing I needed a change. My journey changed drastically when I moved down to sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I transferred to the Art Institute under the same major. I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising come this June 2014. My experience at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale has uncovered my love of education and research.
Leadership can look different and at times may not be recognized at all. A leader may lead by holding power in position, but true leader empowers people through inspiration with a vision that does not promote self gain, but benefits all involved. As a leader you must know you strengths, limitations and able to reflect on a situation. Knowing when the work of a group is flowing or if change of direction is needed. I never fell in love with fashion per se. Instead, fashion has always occupied a corner of my mind for as long as I can remember. I would spend hours in the changing rooms of big retail stores, trying on every style that caught my eye. I’ve always enjoyed dressing up because the ever-shifting trends provided room for boundless experiments and because fashion offered a window through which I could voice my individuality, loud and clear. Integrating strategy with taste has always been my strong suit, so a job in merchandising came naturally to me.
Throughout my youth my passions included drawing, playing in my mother's closets and always had a fascination for fabrics and where they came from. My love for the fashion industry grew into a dream career goal. I'll never forget the first time traveled to Costa Rica and visited a textile mill. I fell love with the many different fabrics and items to choose from, and from then on I was always reading and researching on how to make this a reality for myself.or the first time I tried on a fabric that wasn't the usual coat made (add) Instead, it was my moms fuzzy polyester lapel coat .
Personality has a big and great responsibility; Representing an individual’s character and establish the individual’s mood. Clothes help in expressing one’s innermost thoughts, kindness, and feelings. Selection of the clothes according to the occasion, time or mood reflects the taste of a person and while the way of dressing oneself comes without planning and it can’t be realized by the person unless being asked, this does not necessarily mean that one has to wear what is common to all but to what relates to a person’s own thinking and perception. Moreover, there is a story behind what people wear and it is not as simple as we can conclude from the first look. Clothing and personality go hand in hand in deciding how one wishes to express their
...is instilled in me, that I must gain as much knowledge as possible in order to succeed in life. In the fashion industry, one must continue to learn about the world around them in order to keep up with the changes in the industry. There are many different ways today that I can keep up with what is going on in the fashion world without going to school, but school will prepare me for the challenges that are to come. The only previous work experience that I had working in a fashion was at Mortal Kombat. I did not stay at the job very long because of personal issues that I had with staff. I feel that I need to get involved in some type of fashion job so that I can network better. Networking is essential in the fashion business, because you may never see people that you want to talk to but word-of-mouth can open doors that lead you in the direction that you wanted to go.
Following fashion styles in order to be trendy and to look different and stylish in front of others by wearing different types of clothes and accessories. Fashion can be viewed in people’s style of outlook personality with clothing and hairstyle, style of living and behaving, along with the area of personal interest. Today’s youths are totally influenced by new fashion trends. Youth generation is totally affected by this glamorous world of fashion. Their dressing style, hair style, accessories, language and personality all shows that how much they are influenced by fashion.
All things considered, I firmly believe that people devoted to fashion clothing could earn self-esteem and make them more confident. Nevertheless, it is significant to be original and capable of deciding what to wear by ourselves instead of following the trends without consider our personality. Needless to say, no one should discriminate someone because of not being in fashion. It is our responsibility to give the right importance to
