I never fell in love with fashion per se. Instead, fashion has always occupied a corner of my mind for as long as I can remember. I would spend hours in the changing rooms of big retail stores, trying on every style that caught my eye. I’ve always enjoyed dressing up because the ever-shifting trends provided room for boundless experiments and because fashion offered a window through which I could voice my individuality, loud and clear. Integrating strategy with taste has always been my strong suit, so a job in merchandising came naturally to me.
But there was a moment when I went from ‘I want to work in fashion’ to ‘I need to work in fashion.’ As I studied fashion and its workings, I realized I was seeing only part of the picture. The fashion

The opportunity familiarized me with the fundamental process of apparel manufacturing and made me aware of the unethical practices done to reduce the price of clothing.
During winter break, I spent my time working as a sales associate at a local POLO Ralph Lauren store. Since the store had a very small staff I had various responsibilities, among which I learned the most from managing the stocks; I helped the manager decide what items to send back to headquarters and what designs to order more of based on the preference of customers. The experience enhanced my understanding of different textiles and most importantly, trained me to make decisions based on the actual demand visible through sales, whether or not it corresponds with my idea of beauty.
Outside of fashion, I worked as a social media intern for a file sharing app startup called Sunshine where I learned how to communicate effectively with the target audience through different channels and contents. I’ve also received recognition for the Most Moving Speech at a nationwide Youth Speech Contest; skills that I’m sure will help me be a successful marketer and

Nina said at first she didn’t attend a school for fashion but she did eventually. ‘I went to Boston University. My father was very adamant that I needed a career that was not just fashion design. In a way, he was right. So I went to University, and I did liberal arts, and then after I finished I moved to New York, and I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology (one of the biggest fashion schools in New York). I studied fashion and fashion merchandising. By then, I realized that I wasn’t cut out to be a designer.’ A follow up question Cassandra asked her was ‘Did your parents like fashion as much as you?’ and she said that her dad didn’t but her mom loved fashion just as much as her, if not more. She loved fashion and her closet was this oasis of color and shapes and prints and high-heeled shoes that I was dying to wear, and it was all in a walk in closet that I had no access to. So I think that that also peaked my interest, like when you can’t get in somewhere. I remember it was like Ali Baba’s cave! There was jewelry, and there were colors, and there were clothes, and heels, and all you want to do is go in
This profession also has a large business aspect to it and that intrigues me a lot. I have grown up always listening to my dad talk about business and the market and how “the business world” is very important, I’ve have just become more and more interested in finding out all about that. The world of fashion is something that I have always wanted to be a part of, and now, I am working my way there.

Nowadays, fashion is not about the tangible quality of garments as fashion images are more accessible to the consumer than the actual garment itself. Images reach a wide group of people through billboards, television, newspapers, magazines, websites, malls, cinemas, and so on. We understand ads because
I am so excited to see what FIDM has for me in the future. When I was 15 years old, I worked in my mom’s clothing boutique and really had a fun experience working there. My job was to help customers out with fitting rooms, helping customers pick out clothes, and working the cashier. It was so good to be able to get that type of experience so young because I kind of got a taste of what the whole fashion world looked like. One thing that was awesome about working there was that i got to learn how to deal with customers even though it was tough sometimes.

From the moment I starting my educational path I knew four years wouldn’t be enough to fill me with all the dimensions of the fashion industry. This led me to make my decision to apply for the M.S. Global Fashion Enterprise degree. When asked how this program at Philadelphia University would benefit me, I will begin by giving a background on my previous education. I started my undergraduate degree at Buffalo State College in upstate New York pursuing a Bachelor degree in Fashion Merchandising. After being in the program for a year I was confident in knowing I needed a change. My journey changed drastically when I moved down to sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I transferred to the Art Institute under the same major. I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising come this June 2014. My experience at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale has uncovered my love of education and research.

One of the main characteristics of Hinduism is the varied concept about ishta devata ([any] adorable deity), which recognizes that any person may have a conception of divinity, equally respectable, since God can take all forms, and eventually transcends them. Hence the infinitude of representations of the divinity. But finally God is one, even though its manifestations are infinite. In Western texts came to become popular the Hindu triad, called Trimurti ('three forms [of God]': the male gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva), but usually no one worships that triad. Many Hindus worship the goddess Durga (known by some by one of its aspects as Kali), but also to a large number of other gods, including regional gods.
...is instilled in me, that I must gain as much knowledge as possible in order to succeed in life. In the fashion industry, one must continue to learn about the world around them in order to keep up with the changes in the industry. There are many different ways today that I can keep up with what is going on in the fashion world without going to school, but school will prepare me for the challenges that are to come. The only previous work experience that I had working in a fashion was at Mortal Kombat. I did not stay at the job very long because of personal issues that I had with staff. I feel that I need to get involved in some type of fashion job so that I can network better. Networking is essential in the fashion business, because you may never see people that you want to talk to but word-of-mouth can open doors that lead you in the direction that you wanted to go.
All things considered, I firmly believe that people devoted to fashion clothing could earn self-esteem and make them more confident. Nevertheless, it is significant to be original and capable of deciding what to wear by ourselves instead of following the trends without consider our personality. Needless to say, no one should discriminate someone because of not being in fashion. It is our responsibility to give the right importance to
