Growing up, art has always been a constant. Watching my father paint remarkable replications of Van Gough, for décor around the house, always fascinated my adolescent mind. As he contrived these pieces, I could not help but feel inspired. Maturing in age and knowledge I found an authentic respect for the arts. I then experimented using multiple art mediums, discovering myself through each. Having had my most memorable experiences in photography, I studied further into the subject. I came to find that the fashion photography in magazines conjured my deepest creative mentality. The beauty I found in each editorial was just brilliant. I would spend hours in my local bookstore admiring these works of art, until one day I realized photography had …show more content…
Locating the nearest sewing center I began to take classes every day. It was an enduring start, but I knew if I wanted to design exquisite pieces I had to understand the process. I began to find local fabric stores as well, asking questions about how certain materials work and discovering some ways on my own. The design process of original creations came more naturally than I had anticipated. I began to sew things I had designed and wear them to school occasionally. My class later voted me as “Best Dressed Guy”. This was just the small boost of motivation for me to actually begin seeking a fashion-influenced school to see how this would all work out. I came across The Fashion Institute of Technology online while researching top fashion design schools. I made a trip from my home in LA to New York City for a fashion styling confidential class at FIT over the 2015 summer. It was an absolute dream. From the city itself, to the school’s amazing campus, I instantly fell in love. My instructor during the class at FIT had later said she had, “recognized a real sense of quiet leadership” in my personality. She invited me to work backstage during a Men’s Fashion Week show. This experience of watching the designer in his natural environment had ultimately reassured me that this is where I want to be, and will
As Simon would watch his father's meticulous brushstrokes amidst the aroma of oil paints and the clutter of brushes, stretched canvases, and works in progress, something inside of him spoke of his own future. It was Joe's passion for his pastime that fostered within Simon the joy of creation for creation's sake, a true love of art, and an appreciation for the beauty of the human form. It was those early values that eventually guided Simon to follow in his father's footsteps as a portrait painter.

... some points I'm going to cross common experiences. Some of them are going to stick and become a little bit peculiarly mine . . . I don't worry about that. I worry about the paintings . . . the drive to make art ("Concepts in career: Frank Stella").
Art can mean many different things to many different people and was one of the earliest ways in which man has expressed him or herself to others, whether it was through cave drawings or hieroglyphics. It does not begin or end with just drawing or painting, items typically considered art, or the many other recognized facets of art including architecture, drama, literature, sculpting, and music. My research is based on Vincent van Gogh art, and two art paintings that I choose to study is The Starry Night, 1889, and the second art is The Sower 1888. Vincent van Gogh’s is known for Impressionism, that occurs to us in these times, much more to affirm close links with tradition, and to represent
Since being young I’ve always been fascinated with fashion so I had the idea of having a fashion show and entered the contest. I remember being very certain and bold about my decision. I had items that I had sewn by hand and they weren’t the best designs, but they were mine. I was ecstatic about the upcoming talent show and I even had a chance to walk in the show. I remember as a kid always having an eye for fashion.
When you love to do something, you want to do it every day, all the time, till you get sick of it. Even then that excitement and devotion to do it is still there. That is how I feel about art. I have a great passion for it. It is a form where I can express myself in a way words can’t.
Thanks to the influences of my project (such as Prue Stent, Aso Mohammadi and Petra Collins), I've mastered my photographic skills as the artists which I explored in depth helped me with my own artistic development, and pushed forward my ideas to life with the use of experimentation. My work reflects different backgrounds and styles which I consider really important as I wanted to implement and build a different unique style, which ended up brilliantly creating my own. Through the development of my work I found myself rediscovering myself in a new innovative way as I’ve got deeply in touch with my artistic side, trying things I’ve never done before
To begin with, photography appeared to me as something entertaining a simple step in which one took a camera and simply shot a photograph of oneself or a friend. When I was handed my schedule for Mrs. Jones’s class, I felt as if this class had in store a special reward for me. As the days went by, Instead of being anxious of getting out of class I had a craving for additional time in the class. The class kept my eyes glued to the screen ...
Since as long as I could remember, I always wanted to substantiate that I was different. I have never really been exceptionally fond of standards, and I always wanted to follow what I believed was right. When I was around 13 years old, my uncle showed me his camera for the first time. He let me hold it, and told me to take care of it as if it was my baby. Astonished, and at a loss for words, I picked up the camera, and started taking pictures.
Art classes throughout kindergarten and up to my junior year in college have taught me so much about expression, performance and making a statement. Learning and practicing art introduces a new way of processing information, and approaching problems. In my
In order to prepare for this career in my future I would need to attend a college involving designing, fashion designing, and a type of art. The education I would need would be a two year to four year college for fashion designing and a one year to three year college for interior designing. These careers take a bachelors degree in some place of art. In order to want to attend college first of all I would have to maintain an acceptable grade point average of what I would possibly assume of a 2.5 or higher depending on the location of the college as well as the skill learning level of the college.
My chances were running out and I couldn’t picture myself doing anything else that wasn’t my biggest passion. Finally realizing fashion was always around waiting for me, I’ve taken this opportunity as my last chance to make my dream a reality. At first, I didn’t know which school was right for me. I always knew that FIT and Parsons was the Top 2 fashion schools in NYC. What I didn’t know was that FIT offered a Menswear major and it was the only school that offered the program.
...is instilled in me, that I must gain as much knowledge as possible in order to succeed in life. In the fashion industry, one must continue to learn about the world around them in order to keep up with the changes in the industry. There are many different ways today that I can keep up with what is going on in the fashion world without going to school, but school will prepare me for the challenges that are to come. The only previous work experience that I had working in a fashion was at Mortal Kombat. I did not stay at the job very long because of personal issues that I had with staff. I feel that I need to get involved in some type of fashion job so that I can network better. Networking is essential in the fashion business, because you may never see people that you want to talk to but word-of-mouth can open doors that lead you in the direction that you wanted to go.
All throughout time people have used their imaginative minds to express some form of art, whether it be painting, drawing, sculpture, and dance, theatre, music or technology, this has happened all around the world. Furthermore, I think that the youth of the world have the biggest imagination because everything to them is new and they can’t help but imagine “what if” or “how”. Therefor that’s the power of imagination, and preferably for me I use it for art. Art to me is almost like an escape from everything negative in my life. Many say that art is beauty, and we say beauty ...
Without a doubt, being a highly respected photographer would be my dream career. The type of job that wouldn 't feel like a job because it is one of my favorite hobbies. Growing up I always noticed how much longer I took to take a picture of someone than when they did the same for me. I soon realized that I actually had a passion for getting the right shot that I understood that not every pictures the same and that certain angles made others look better in places. The praise I received for taking a lot of these pictures motivated me. I liked that I hardly ever got told to take these pictures over and I loved that I was always the one chosen to take them time after time. Once I understood that I had this passion for photography I made sure a camera was the first thing on my Christmas list that year. I also knew that there was nothing but room for improvement, so i sought out private lessons which I worked and saved up for.
