Running a business is a big part of this world and how leadership is being conducted in the business a huge part of weather the business will be successful or fail. There are many different types of leadership ways to run a business some work better than others. When finding what leadership styles work the best for what you 're trying to accomplish is essential for a successful business. This purpose of this paper is to discuss what is collaborative leadership and how it’s different then other ways of doing business, and how it can be more successful than others.

It really has no incentives for the employees instead it gives the employees criticism while not giving them a voice because it’s whatever the boss says goes.(Wall Street Journal). The boss also gives very little information to the employees so they don’t know much about the job other than what they have to do(tutorialspoint). It creates a very strenuous work environment because when there is a problem there really is no group effort to think of a solution, instead the boss gives the solution and they have to live with the decision(tutorialspoint). If the workers don’t like the decision then because they have nowhere to express their distaste it comes out in the workplace environment.

Coaching leadership has isn’t good points when you need to help a group of people become better, however this way isn’t the best for a business because people can take it a different way or you may not be able to help them get better. Coaching can get people motivated and raise skill level but it also can fail by people thinking you are micromanaging them(Wall Street Journal and Wise Toast) . Some people hate being told how to do things a certain way and sometimes this how Coaching leadership comes off and that could cause a lot of problems with business chemistry in the long run(Wall Street Journal).

Leadership at times can be a complex topic to delve into and may appear to be a simple and graspable concept for a certain few. Leadership skills are not simply acquired through position, seniority, pay scale, or the amount of titles an individual holds but is a characteristic acquired or is an innate trait for the fortunate few who possess it. Leadership can be misconstrued with management; a manager “manages” the daily operations of a company’s work while a leader envisions, influences, and empowers the individuals around them.

The aim of this paper is to identify the different approaches to leadership, but there is no single definition of leadership, as it can mean many different things to many people depending of their profession, environment and leadership style (Mielach, 2012).
STYLES OF LEADERSHIP An autocratic leadership style is one where the manager sets objectives, allocates tasks, and insists on obedience. Therefore the group becomes dependent on him or her. The result of this style is the members of the group are often dissatisfied with the leader. This results in little cohesion, the need for high levels of supervision, and poor levels of motivation amongst employees. A democratic leadership style encourages participation in decision making.
Leadership is a quality many of us strive to achieve. To be an excellent leader has been an elusive quest. However, the pursuit of excellent leadership is movement in the right direction. In this paper we will examine the major types of leadership styles. The three types are, Participative or Democratic, Laissez-Faire, and Authoritative.
Leadership is not a position but an action that is undertaken by an individual. Leadership is not just about giving orders, yet it is the action of serving others. There are many benefits when using a coaching leadership style such as the positive workplace environment, employees know exactly what is expected of them, and the one-on-one style helps to develop individuals in order to improve their performance and to reach their goals. In terms of negative aspects of this style it not only takes time but it also takes patience in part by the leader. There are a few different types of well known leadership styles, authoritarian, delegative, and democratic. To assess my leadership style I used two online tests to help me determine my style. I felt the results were accurate and I fall into a democratic style/participative style. If I am leading I prefer to include the group and get their feedback on solving issues. However, I still make the final decision after listening to the thoughts of the group on a particular topic. This is considered to be a positive style of leadership that is inspiring to the group involved. The leaders decision making tends to be more accurate due to the input of other experts. (Cite)
