Ethics. Business ethics are moral principles that outline how a business is to perform. Often times, companies will help their employees understand what code of ethics they want them to perform by implementing company policies. One of the dilemmas involving business ethics is that there is not always a clear ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answer. Because of this, sometimes business will develop an ethics training class specific to the company. There are many different aspects that can effect how well an individual succeeds in the workplace. Learning to be a good communicator allows a person to not only speak well, but to handle any issues that can occur. Many times individuals don’t realize their body language and tones can come across as negative but remembering how to maintain optimistic is key to effective communication. Along with that, collaborating with fellow employees can have positive outcomes. Working together means that you can get more work accomplished in less time and gain a wide variety of opinions and strategies. Problem-solving skills are also important to possess. In the workplace, we are faced with problems daily. This is why it’s important to understand the best way to dissipate these issues. In addition to these things, work ethics are also important to companies. Being able to establish good morals within yourself and a company will help prevent future issues. It’s good to define where you or a business stands on certain issues so when you are faced with them there is no question or fluctuation. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the conceptual frameworks, describe a dilemma in the workplace, analyze the moral, ethical, and legal implications, and finally, discuss the leadership affect of my particular leadership style on this dilemma.

When I think of ethics, I think of the angel on my left shoulder telling me to do the “right” thing, and the devil on my right, tempting me to join the dark side.
