Clover Valley Dairy Case study - Letter to Charles Krieger
Dear Charles Krieger
Your valuable suggestions are much appreciated and are really very helpful in what we are trying to do here. I want to share my thoughts about the market testing we want to conduct and also discuss with you the ideas you have proposed, with the objective of finalizing them and ensuring we have the right approach for this initiative. I have outlined below my thinking on key aspects for your consideration, with the objective of ensuring the right strategy for this key initiative at Clover Valley.
Before getting into the actual market test, I wanted to define and clarify on what is the actual purpose of this research. We have spent considerable time and effort in coming up with the new multi pack carriers, for the new 6-oz product. The 6-oz product is a very successful product that has helped us increase our sales, and hence we want to ensure that all activities with this product are done with the intention of taking this forward and not risking our position due to any improperly thought out activities. Therefore the main purpose of the research that we are undertaking is to ensure that the new multi packs that we are introducing will be a good move on part of the company, boost existing sales while bringing down the costs of packaging, and ensure that company objectives in terms of revenue and margins are effectively achieved. The test should also be done with a subset of our target customer, so that risk of failure is minimized and any corrections or feedback from customers can be addressed and incorporated before rolling out the product to the entire customer group.
Coming to the next key items for the market test, we have to have a clear definition o...

From a financial standpoint, it is always important that a cost benefit analysis is done to ensure that it makes business sense. This market testing may cost us about forty to fifty thousand dollars, but in my opinion I feel this is money well spent as this is about getting our best product right and ensuring a successful future for the company. The value of the research far exceeds the costs and hence we should go ahead with the market testing.
I have outlined my thoughts above for your consideration. Look forward to discussing with you more on this and taking this initiative forward, that would be a key decision point in the future of the company.
With Regards

Hatcher Family Dairy was established in 1831 and the Hatcher’s have been milking cows ever since. Throughout most of Hatcher Family Dairy’s history, milk produced on the farm was sold to a milk cooperative owned by farmers. The milk cooperative would transport the Hatcher’s raw milk from the farm to a processing plant where it was processed along with milk from other farms. Ultimately, all the milk processed by the milk cooperative comingled and was sold under various brand names to groceries stores.
Reviewing the company’s distribution and channel strategies may help determine the appropriateness of the strategies in the current market and if the company needs to make adjustments to their strategies. Also determining Keurig Inc.’s pricing strategies for consumer sales and aids the business in determining if their pricing strategy is appropriate for the current market. Lastly, identifying promotions for consumer sales helps Lazaris and the other leaders of Keurig Inc. determine if they must change their promotions to obtain the maximum profit from at-home-market sales.
We have looked at a number of possibilities, both positive and negative, and we feel that this is the best option. There really is no justification to not go through with the changes. They will result in a greater profit, both in the short and long run. Our analysis is included in the following document.
In 1996, Jim Wagner was hired as chief financial officer and was able to successfully achieve steady profitability for the company. One year later, in 1997, in an attempt to source its strategic investments, Natureview organized an equity infusion from a venture capital firm; however, the venture capital now needs to cash out of its investment in Natureview and management will therefore need to find another investor or position itself for acquisition. In order to attain the maximum potential valuation, the company must make strategic marketing choices in an attempt to increase revenues to $20 million before the end of year 2001. And to meet this lofty goal, Natureview can potentially enter a new market and transition from the natural food channel into the supermarket channel, a move that would signify a dramatic departure from the company’s present cha...

Marketing research has become a very important part of small businesses and large corporations gaining information about their customers and how they feel about their products and services. According to Philip Kotler, "Marketing research is systematic problem analysis, model building and fact-finding for the purpose of improved decision-king and control in the marketing of goods and services (Kotler & Keller, 2012)”. The initial step in the marketing process is to identify the problem the company is having and then decide the way the marketing team would like to conduct the research. The marketing team will devise a plan on how to gather the information and set a budget for the research project. In the planning of how they will conduct the
The United States of America has always been held in high regards by immediate neighboring countries as well as a host of other countries. In comparison to a majority of other countries in the globe the US holds superior living standards, stronger economy and expert technology. This was case for mina Anderson who immigrated to the US in search of Green pastures in terms of better pay and better living standards in comparison to the condition back in her native Sweden. Based on the evidence from the assigned reading text, the conditions are ripe for the picking but success depends on a host of other factors. Mina Anderson found greener pastures in the United States of America subject to individual effort and other external factors. In the context of life
We have come to the phase that allows Team A to apply the research tools and implement a market research plan. Team A will review various marketing research tools that are available for researchers to use such as secondary research, secondary on-line research, exploratory research, nondirective interviews, and the Likert scale. Our secondary research is showing that consumers are demanding healthier menu options. This market research implementation plan will develop several market research tools; including questionnaires’ and the Likert scale to verify if McDonald’s consumers genuinely want and will purchase healthier menu items.
This case was about an ethical situation that George Stein, a summer intern at Eastern Dairy, faced at one of the nigh shifts he participated in.
In this world, creating a new product, as good as it may be, is not enough. The success of any product, in this day and age, depends grandly on the way it is presented to the market. Marketing is responsible in assuring a successful launch of a product, new or reinvented, and to assure its sustainability in this competitive world. For those reasons, billions of dollars are spent each year on tools and strategies to improve marketing research and predict the success of a product: many marketing firms form focus groups, do trials and conduct many tests just to end up with a fairly high percentage of failures.
The force of globalization sped up by highly technological advancement rapidly increases the uncertainty and complexity of the international business environment. To prosper, organizations must adapt to the changing environment (Waddell, Creed, Cummings & Worely, 2014). On a global stage of competition, Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited (Fonterra) has maintained its momentum of growth and reserved its renowned place among the top five world’s dairy giants in 2013.

Briefly it is a systematic design, collection, analysis, and reporting of data and findings relevant to a specific marketing situation facing the company, allows management to make the changes necessary for better results through adopting a proactive approach. Therefore, if a company wants to know what type of products or services would be profitable it should make a market research. Furthermore, a comprehensive research will enable the company to know about the product imperfections (if there are) and to know if it has been able to satisfy customers’ needs. It attempts to provide accurate information that reflects a true state of affairs. Due to market research the company can formulate a viable marketing plan and estimate the success of its existing plan. There are two main sources of marketing research information:
