I was begging my mom and dad to let me go up this cliff. We were sitting on the houseboat playing cards and I really wanted to go up this cliff. There was on part on the cliff where it wasn't as steep. That was the part I wanted to climb up but my mom said no every time. I was collecting firewood and went up to the part I could climb up and looked at it more. I realized to climb this hill I had to grab onto a root to help me get up. So I went again and asked “Mom can I please go up the hill and look for lizards.” She finally said “yes.” So I ran to the cliff and slowly climb up. I was finally standing on the edge of it. I went up into the forest. I saw to first lizard and chased it and lost it. I saw one more and chased it to the ledge of
the cliff. It was on a stump. I put my leg over the cliff so i could reach the lizard. I felt something crawling on my leg and then a felt a sharp pain. As I look down I saw that i put my leg right into a hornets nest. Once i realized i had done this i was stung more and more. I fell off the cliff and ran into the water. I came back up for air and was stung again. My mom ran out from the houseboat and helped me out of the water. We went back to the boat and in the end I was stung 15 times and my mom was stung 1 time.
It took about an hour to climb to the top of the mountain because the higher we got, the steeper it was and the more challenging it got to climb because of the loose gravel and rocks. Once we reached the top of the mountain we sat down on the floor to eat some hot Cheetos and drink some of our Gatorade. After catching our breath, we began to take pictures and we saw a skunk on the opposite side of the mountain away from the park. We had never seen a skunk before so we were eager to take a picture with it. As we began our journey down towards the skunk, there was a huge rock on the edge of the mountain that I wanted to stand on and take a picture so that I could capture the beautiful scenery in the background. Smiley wanted to take the same picture as well but when he stood on the rock, it tilted over and rolled down the mountain along with my brother. He was holding the lantern when he fell so I no longer had any light. The only light source available was the screen on my phone and the flash on the camera. The first thing I did was take a picture of the bottom of the mountain to see where my brother was at. To his luck, he only suffered a broken leg. So he wouldn’t think about the pain,
She was looking for animals for her class, when she stumbled upon a lizard. She starts to get closer, when the lizard attacks her. The little girl starts to scream and cry until her parents come running to get her. At the sight of the adults, the lizard ran off. The girl's parents rushed her to the nearest hospital.
The Hero’s Journey is a basic template utilized by writers everywhere. Joseph Campbell, an American scholar, analyzed an abundance of myths and literature and decided that almost all of them followed a template that has around twelve steps. He would call these steps the Hero’s Journey. The steps to the Hero’s Journey are a hero is born into ordinary circumstances, call to adventure/action, refusal of call, a push to go on the journey, aid by mentor, a crossing of the threshold, the hero is tested, defeat of a villain, possible prize, hero goes home. The Hero’s Journey is more or less the same journey every time. It is a circular pattern used in stories or myths.
After we relaxed for a long time, it was time for me to go and wash off all of the seaweed my hair had collected. I turn on the shower and there is a huge spider waiting for me just sitting there waiting for me. I killed it and then resumed my shower. After I got out and we were all ready leave we didn’t know where to go. Until my sister saw a commercial for this really cool place with alligators and a Ferris wheel, we decided to go there. As we pulled up to the place we noticed that there was an amazing Ferris wheel and I immediately got really excited. But my parents said that I have to wait until after dinner. So we went and ate our amazing dinner and it was so amazing. I ordered the best lobster and crab, it was so
Joseph Campbell studied ancient greek mythology for many years. Joseph filled each stage of the journey very well. He accepted all the challenges he got and all the help he needed. He really knew how to fulfill all those stages. Like everyone goes through a heroic journey everyone has to have a story to tell. My story is very contrasty from Joseph’s because he really knew what all the stages meant. My hero's journey consists of my threshold crossing which was when I started depending on myself more than I did on others, my helpers/mentors like my parents, teachers,my sister and many more influential people in my life and my rewards were getting awards in school, having a nice family, and many friends.
I was coming back from school, Once I got home I went to the bathroom to have a bath. All of a sudden, There was a baby hippo in my bathroom!! I got so surprised that a random baby hippo was in my bathtub, that I slipped and fell. After, I got up I thought it was a dream but no the hippo was still in my bath. The first thing I did was try to get that stinking hippo out of my bathtub, I tried pushing it out, scaring it, I even tried to tickle it. But none of my strategies worked. In the end I just got tired from doing all those things. Who knew a baby hippo could weigh so much. Then I looked at the time and I noticed it was 5:45 my parents were coming in fifteen minutes!! I got so scared to see their
The eagle said we needed to cross the stream, but I had no idea how I was going to manage going across without crumbling to bits. All of a sudden, a raccoon popped up out of the grass and offered to give me a ride across the stream. I was not feeling too trusting of the raccoon, but I had no other choice so I climbed onto his tail. I question him to see if he knew where the ducks went in the winter, but the bastard ignored me and started on our journey across the stream. He made me climb onto his back because I was getting too heavy.
This one time, I was coming home from school and I found one of my neighbors cows in the middle of giving birth. She was having trouble so I tried several times to pull the baby cow out but I couldn’t. So I took my pants off and tied one leg around the calf’s head and the other around its neck. The calf soon comes out but then the mother was still in trouble. She is having trouble breathing. I shoved my hand way down the cow’s throat and I find a goiter. I try to pull the ball out, but instead she bites me and drags me all over the countryside.
At various points in history, I, the explorer have appeared on numerous occasions all as different personalities. I am highly motivated and as thrill seeking as a comet. I love to travel at maximum velocity seeking out dangerous and exhilarating events. I am expeditious, I am worthy, I am strong, I am legendary, sometimes I can be absolutely mad, but despite all of my personality traits; I am natively known as the explorer. I seek adventure in new or unfamiliar areas, whether it be the deepest and the darkest parts of space and time, or perhaps something beautiful. I am always prepared for a challenge and will go to phenomenal lengths making sure I use my time wisely, because may I remind you; that the clock is not our friend.
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
Dr. D is a cardiothoracic surgeon. He was my hero. He may well still be, even though he is a throw-back to the days when I was more concerned about science than symbolism.
Out in the middle of nowhere, a wave showers on me. “Ughhh, wait what the.” I yell. “Where am I?” As I stood up, I gazed around trying to figure out where I was. “What is this place?” I muttered. I took a gander out on the horizon and saw a big sphere like object. “This looks like a pretty eerie place." I'm equipped with clothes, an axe, and a pickaxe. Confused why I have this stuff. I dreamed about those survival TV shows I once watched. So I began hitting trees to make myself a small wooden base. As I was hitting the tree, I scanned around to figure what I could possibly hit with the pickaxe. "What is that over there?" I asked to myself, strolling up to the odd looking rock. Hitting the odd looking rock with my pickaxe, I got stone and different ore from it.
went to sit down on the sofa. A few minuets later my food was ready
The plot tells a story of a boy named Dave who was on a mission to recover four-legged scaly specimens of the kingdom of Nimalia. In order to complete such a task the boy was required to climb a cherry tree. He and his chums went over to a cherry tree that was in the property of a man who lived near the school. When they arrived at the spot where he was to begin his task, they observed a lizard who was patiently absorbing the warmth of the sun in order to be able to enjoy the night. As soon as the boys had spotted the lizard, they gave chase. The lizard noticing them instantaneously high tailed it to the nearest tree which happened to be a cherry tree. David and his friends followed the lizard up the tree. When the boy was near the top of the tree, the weight of him and his friends caused the tree to wilt until it came to a breaking point where it could no longer stand the stress that was being applied to it so it snapped. The man who owned the land, and the tree that was on it, took the ...
I jumped out of the car with my two sisters and ran to the bathroom. When we left the bathroom, we walked back to the car. We saw that our dad was still putting gas in the car, so we went into the store to buy some sweets. I bought “warheads” that said extremely sour, and a bag of chips called “baked with fire” that looked like they would taste really hot. When we purchased our food, we walked back to the car. As soon as we started driving, I opened my bag of chips. I was so scared that they would be extremely hot. For that reason, I also bought a bottle of water. I opened it before I took a bite out of the chip. Luckily, they were not hot at all! I grabbed my sour candy and tasted it. My face changed so quickly; that I started to squint my eyes and point my lips. I could not take another bite of it because it was really sour! Eventually, I was not hungry anymore. Probably because I ate my whole bag of chips and a sandwich. When I finished eating, I was feeling exhausted, so I took a long nap. I woke up, and dad told me that we only needed to drive for one more hour. While we were driving through town, we saw a row of trees on fire! It was so smoky that we could barely see the street we were driving on. I felt scared for life and terrified that we might crash. After a few more minutes of driving, the smoke cleared up and we could see again. Finally, the hour passed and we arrived in California. Mrs.
