Trouble is what is brought up to one’s mind when they think about disobedience. Usually, one would think that there are consequences to disobedience, but what if disobedience along with rebelling are the solutions and improvements to our human society? Oscar Wilde’s claim is valid as not through history, but even know disobedience has for a matter of fact had an impact in the progress of the world through people like Galileo Galilei, Rosie Riveter, and even now through the coming together of U.S. citizens in rebelling against our current gun laws. Throughout history, women have always been seen and treated less than men, but all this changes with the simple change in women’s mind about their roles as women by Rosie Riveter. Rosie Riveter who during the start of the U.S. involvement in the 2nd world war was inspiring women to go against their “roles” as a woman and come to obtain a job outside of the house. As he fought against the church over his idea of a heliocentric universe being more concrete than the church’s claim of an earth-centered universe. Through the many acts of disobedience that Galileo took against the church, he made various discoveries that not only were about our universe but also information of what the universe contains. Through this information, today we have the knowledge of the worlds around us. Not to mention Galileo’s greatest instrument to leave behind was the telescope. Through this instrument now we have improved this tool to look beyond our own universe, and even this has helped in the development of figuring out events such as solar eclipse and numerous natural occurrences in astronomy.
