Christmas Break
During My 2017 Christmas Break, I chilled at home and watched TV. My sister and I watched Christmas movies on Hallmark and Freeform. We drank hot chocolate with marshmallows inside the cup and listened to Christmas music. My mom took us to the movies with my sister and boyfriend, we saw the new movie “Jumanji”.
First, my sister and I went to the mall to go shopping and went to Victoria Secrets and Bath and Body Works. We got some perfume, lotion, and lip-gloss that was on sale. Then we got some Chinese food to eat while we were there, it was really good and tasty. For Christmas our dad gave us some money as our present so we just decided to go shopping the next day. After we ¬-left the mall we went back home and chilled while watching Christmas movies.

The gift he got me was very cute. It was a pink crop-top hoodie from Rue 21 and that day I met his mother she was very sweet and kind but I was very nervous meeting her. After I got done meeting her we left Snappy Tomatoes and went to a couple of stores to get the gifts for my family for Christmas. My mom got beautiful and nice gifts for my family and after we left the store we went home.
Third, we left Friday on December 29th, 2017 to Nashville for all the family to meet up the next day to leave for the trip. My mother and my sister and I left one day early to stay with our grandmother and uncle until the rest of the family came so we could leave for our trip. On the road to Nashville, we listened to music such as R&B and Hip Hop. While we were sitting in the back of the car, we laughed at some jokes my mom was telling us and listened to some stories she told us. My sister and I were taking pictures in the back of our hair because, our mom just did
Christmas, Christmas is awesome. How could you not like Christmas. The only person that could hate Christmas is Ebenezer Scrooge, or someone like Scrooge. Someone greedy, rich, and lonely
Everybody knows why the Grinch stole Christmas. The Grinch was an orphan. He came from another planet far, far away maybe there was not enough air on that little dwarf planet. Not even enough for a mouse. This is why he fell off the planet and landed on an old ladies couch. She was very nice but Santa didn’t know he existed because he landed there on Christmas Eve after Santa had already made his rounds.
This is not your typical Christmas tale. This story is about a group of friends who decide giving is better than receiving around this time of year. There are tons of children who aren’t fortunate enough to get Christmas presents, let alone plenty who don’t even have family to spend the holidays with. Three best friends ended up figuring that out and worked together to truly create a Christmas miracle.
The night after my mom came home, my parents, sisters, and I watched one last movie together. It was great, spending time with my family, but most importantly with my mom. I will cherish every minute I spent with her.
Candles are lit, cookies are baked, the hot chocolate is hot, snow is falling, now it’s time to get our movie marathon on! The candles added such a warm feeling in the house. As we set up for the movies, I could hear my brothers fight over the last cup of hot chocolate. Even though there was still 3 packets of the coca left. As Sophie and I slipped on our slippers, we went into my warm, nice-smelling room and took polaroid pictures. We were having so much fun, we totally forgot about the movie! We went downstairs and realized we had paused the movie and had panicked over absolutely nothing. This year over Winter Break, I plan to sleep in, play in the snow (if it even snows), and bake with my friends!
My mom had been going to school in Greeley and staying at my Aunt Margaret's house . She had been away for two weeks and wanted to come home for the Fourth of July weekend. My mom had suggested that I go back with her and visit colleges, shop, go to movies and just spend time together. I had been feeling pretty sorry for myself since she had been gone. I had been working alot as a maid and helping my dad run the house, I was getting very irritated with my siblings as I felt that I was the only family member doing my part to help my dad. I was really excited to have a week with my mom to myself. The whole ride over we were talking about what I wanted to do that week. Making plans and having "me time" seemed very important at the time.
Do you remember getting oranges in your stockings for Christmas? Turns out, there’s history behind that.
After a long summer, the time has finally come for Sam and his classmates to return to school. Sam dreads going back to school, because he knows that the first weeks of school mean long, boring reviews. Despite the fact that Sam and his friends do not like to study topics they have already learned, they need to review because most students forget what they learned over the three-month break period. Many students can relate to Sam, wasting two weeks or more at the beginning of the school year. Parents, teachers, and students across the United States believe a better option exists that will waste less time. Many suggest the idea of a year-round school schedule. Almost all schools should adopt a year-round schedule because of the many advantages including higher academic
During that time I went to go visit family in Reno, but For what I think it was a good experience visiting my relatives Who I’ve never even met yet. We went to go to nevada in the early morning, it was a tiring trip but we made it all the way but with a couple stops on the way, but we made there. The relatives I’ve met were my Uncles, Aunties, and couple of cousins I’ve never met But my mom were happy to meet again in such a long time we’ve never seen them.
I really didn’t do anything on Christmas break and It was boring because we didn’t go nowhere and I was just sitting at my house doing nothing and all I did was just play my games in my room with some friends on xbox and ps4. When Christmas morning was finally upon us my little brother woke everybody up to go open present’s and everyone got every gift they got and I got a little long box and I said “ i'm going to open that one last ” and when I opened my other presents I went to get that little long box and when I unwrapped it was a apple watch and I was so happy because I been wanting one for a long time.
Summer Break: Longer or the same?By:Gabriel EstesMost kids and some teachers think of summer vacation as a getaway, R&R time. Don't get me wrong it is, in fact according to debate.org, “School taxes would be a lot less and lessdropouts. More kids would be having family/friend bonding time, Students will make moremoneyduring the summervacations from jobs and with that moneythey can use it for college.” In my own opinion, I think that for the sake of my family, and brother's stress, they are perfectly fine with summer break staying with the 2 month period. I personally agree, I think that it should stay the same.According to an article on The Mercury News, ““I do believe that if children have not mastered a subject that, within a week, personally, I see a slide in my own child,” said Tina Bruno, executive director of the Coalition for a Traditional School Calendar.
It was Tuesday and the day was draining away. I wanted to go buy new hair dye, but I knew it was too late. Careless, I got money from my piggy bank and asked my little sister Natalie to come along. I usually go out by myself but I decided to take her to feel more safe. Since my parents were not home yet I had to make this trip quick, so we took the bus.
Frosty the Snowman waves hello alongside Santa 's reindeer that are ready to take off. Candy canes line the sidewalk and the ginger bread dolls dance in a merry circle. The trees all sparkle with thousands of red, yellow, purple, blue, and orange lights. Out back, Mary and Joseph stand over baby Jesus, Choo-Choo train’s chug in spot, stars twinkle with bright yellow bulbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause wave in the distance. Kerkhoven, MN, the location of the happiest house on the block. Every year my breath is always taken away as my eyes struggle to soak in the utter abundance of Christmas spirit. I 'm smiling and we 're not even inside yet.
My dad and sister watched television, my mom crocheted, and I worked on my Kinderbuch for German class. As usual, everyone but me fell asleep. At 10:30, we packed all of our things into the back of the Tahoe and pulled around to he front to return the keys.
We spend the day baking cookies, making fudge and preparing a big Christmas dinner, with all the trimmings. The children love to see each other. They spend the day playing games and sharing their new gifts and toys that Santa Claus brought for each of them. They get so eager to decorate, that it is hard to restrain them.Decorating for Christmas is so much fun. My father always draws a new background scenery, for the Nativity scene, that he displays, every year. He, my brother-in-laws and my husband start with the decorations for the outside of the house and the front yard.
