Personal Narrative- Volleyball Tryouts
Six long hours after departing Hotchkiss, we finally reached our destination. We pulled into the parking lot of the Super 8 just off Interstate 76 in Sterling, Colorado. Since I had been to this hotel on a previous trip to Sterling, I began wishing I had brought my swimsuit along. Mom and dad went inside and got the keys for room 129. I was so sick of riding in the car that I did not care what the room looked like as long as there was a bed for me to sleep on. As we entered the room, on the left there was the bathroom sink, a mirror, and a place to hang our "good" clothes. To the right, was the miniature bathroom. There was not enough space in there for a midget. Stepping out of the entranceway, there was a wooden dresser with a 27-inch television. By the large window, there was a small table. Two queen size beds sat on either side of the nightstand. The purple patterned quilts were quite shocking compared to everything else in the room.
Awaking at 7:00 a.m. on the cool morning of December 7, 2003, I prepare for a long day. I put on the spandex and T-shirt that I will wear during the tryout at Northeastern Junior College. By 7:30 a.m., my family is walking over to the neighboring hotel's restaurant for our breakfast. It did not take long to decide that I wanted two golden-brown, buttermilk pancakes with warm maple syrup for breakfast. Both of my parents knew what they wanted right away and as usual, we were all waiting for my little sister to decide. Finally, she decided on the pancakes. It took only ten minutes to get our food and what a relief that was considering my stomach sounded like there was a lion inside. The pancakes were delicious, and my dad's biscuits and gravy was yummy. However, the cinnamon roll my mom order was hard as a rock and she had to pour maple syrup over it. That did not help it at all. After breakfast, we returned for some lounge time in the hotel room.
My dad and sister watched television, my mom crocheted, and I worked on my Kinderbuch for German class. As usual, everyone but me fell asleep. At 10:30, we packed all of our things into the back of the Tahoe and pulled around to he front to return the keys.
I personally thought this was a great film, although initially I thought it might be boring. Once I got past the older production quality and immersed myself into the story, I enjoyed it. I can see why this film is a cinematic classic, especially with the memorable dialogue. My favorite lines came from Carr, the floor walker. He seemed to know his job like the back of his hand. “Any man loses his spoon; he spends the night in the box”.
We take them inside and then finally were on the road it only took 4 hours. Then we arrive at Sky Zone and we signed the Waivers and waited for my brothers. When they came Skyler,Riley,Domonic and I all agreed to a dodge ball against Elliot. Then about an hour and a half later I told Lori I was hungry so she bought us nachos then after that I played reality dodge ball. The last activity I did was Foam Zone. Then for late lunch early dinner we went to Red Robin.Dad had a burger that had ghost pepper sauce, jalepenos, and pepper jack chesse. Then Elliot and Skylier,Domonic Riley and I all talked on how we would run away to wherever. Then sadly very sadly we had to go home :{.On the way home we played 20 questions.Once during 20 questions Lori said she was a food I asked “are you a vegetable”she said “yes”I asked”are you green”she said “yes”then I said are you asparugus she
As I’m a volleyball player, the coach from here saw me on a tournament when I was 18. He just sent an e-mail and ask me if I want to be part of LR volleyball team.
*Dinnng* Dinng* the school bell has just gone off meaning that I have 7 classes until volleyball tryouts. This is the most nerve racking thing I have experienced. My heart was thumping so hard I thought it was going to beat out of my chest. My stomach felt queasy. My whole mood was changed from my normal more confident self to someone that I was very unfamiliar with. During first period was presentations which were also adding to my nervousness, I had my head down most of the time speaking softly. This was somewhat embarrassing but I did whatever I could to not faint up there. Once the presentation was over, it seemed like all the other classes were a breeze and they just flew by, but I knew what was soon to come after school...2nd
When we got out there we were all very impressed by the appearance of the city. This was obviously a tourist town. When we found the hotel we were impressed by the huge glass windows and cedar siding. It looked more like the Hilton than a Best Western. We checked in and were shown to our rooms. After bringing in all of our things, we went straight to bed knowing that we had a huge day ahead of us, not knowing how huge it was really going to be.
I looked in their faces and knew mine mirrored theirs. I didn’t want it to, but it did. Just ten minutes ago, we all were so jubilant. We were so sure we were going to win. We had all wanted it for so long, but we finally felt is as our destiny just a few moments ago. But as our opponent threw the ball in the air, I knew she was just about to serve another ace. However, when the ball landed three feet in front of our best passer, something snapped inside of me.
Organic food has become so popular these days, since people especially in United States are making a commitment to have a good start towards a healthier life. People often doubt whether the organic food is really healthier and more nutritious? Why does it cost so expensive? Well, first of all, the term “organic” is referring to the way agricultural products are grown and processed which later on will affected the quality of the food. In order for a product to be labeled as “organic”, they must meet several specific conditions and requirements. Consuming organic food will not only affect health, but also the existence of animals as well as the food resource and the environment.
The hotel was old and it looked abandoned the walls were falling apart and the ceiling was leaking, It did not look like the best hotel to stay in, but the rooms were so big, the rooms looked like small little houses, squished
We have two major exercises, which related to the receiving in futsal and they are:
The focus of this section is on volleyball skills; a presentation of factors that contribute to the dynamics of the game, gender differences in the game and determinants of winning or lowing matches. This framework provides a simpler way of understanding how the serve and serve reception play a role in the game of volleyball.
This research task requires that, through participation in skill learning and game play during the volleyball unit we have been required to observe and analyse the characteristics of skilled performers; receive feedback on weaknesses in technique and develop and participate in training activities that could correct these weaknesses.
Every athlete knows the struggle of defending the importance of their sport. It's a constant battle between you and the irrelevant opinion of that one person who's always trying to say something. There's two types of haters: those who don't even play sports (except in gym) and those who just think their sport is better. Being a volleyball player, people are always making jokes about volleyball being an "easy" sport. These people don't understand the full picture of it all, especially the football players.
Odds of going pro in Volleyball Ever hear the phrase, "one in a million"? Well, you'll need to be exactly that if you want to go pro especially in the most second famous sport in the world followed by soccer. Think about the best high school athlete in your district of high schools. The absolute jock/caption in the area. He/she gets known by colleges that he/she can barely spare time for their school work, let alone friends.
There has been a cultural adjustment to organic farming and eating that is critical for future human and environmental benefits for three reasons. First reason is that a person’s health counts on good food being consumed into the body. Organic foods do not contain any artificial colors, preservatives, flavors, or pesticides making them healthier for Consumers. The EPA makes an educated guess that approximately 90% of all fungicides, 60% of all herbicides, and 30% of all pesticides are all chemicals found in conventionally grown agriculture, and these chemicals causes cancer, and organic food does not have these malicious substances. The bottom line is that these chemicals are toxic poisonous designed to kill living organisms and
As usual I woke up to the sound of my father pounding on my bedroom door, hollering, “Get up! Get on your feet! You’re burning daylight!” I met my brother in the hallway, and we took our time making it down the stairs, still waking up from last night’s sleep. As we made our way to the kitchen, I thought about what to have for breakfast: fried eggs, pancakes, an omelet, or maybe just some cereal. I started to get hungry. As usual, mom and dad were waiting in the kitchen. Mom was ready to cook whatever we could all agree on, and dad was sitting at the table watching the news. The conversation went as usual, “Good morning.” “How are you today?”
