My sister forwarded this job post to me, saying it was a perfect fit and I agree! I grew up in Chelmsford, spending many days at our beloved Adams Library! I taught at Chelmsford High School and literally spent my days at the McKay Library in the Center as I studied at Harvard's Extension School, only sneaking out to go to Friendly's. I was saddened when my favorite librarian passed away and one of my Mom and me's favorite outing was to the library. I love libraries, often dragging my husband to them when we visit a city, so from a personal aspect, it is PERFECT. It also ideally matches my skill sets and I feel that this is the job I have been waiting for. Below are some highlights from my career that I think will showcase my strengths
Librarians are defined as “a person, typically with a degree in library science, who administers or assists in a library.” In truth, they are much more than that. In a recent interview with Traci Glass, the Teen Librarian at the Eugene Public library, we explored her personal story with becoming a librarian, including how it has benefitted and affected her life.
The following career I have chosen describes who I am, where I want to go, and what I want to accomplish in the near future.
How did you know this was the right career for you? Did you consider any other careers?
What experiences have you had which prepare you for this position (e.g perhaps as an employee, leader, or working with people different from yourself, etc)?
I believe I have many skills and talents that I can contribute to N.H.S. I’m level-headed and cool under pressure so in times of havoc, I’ll be there to calm people down and not go crazy. Also I’m a team player which is very important. Some people like to do things solo, but N.H.S is an organization where you have to work together to help accomplish the goals. Also I’m very hard working and dedicated so I won’t give up. There are people who give up when an obstacle they can’t pass comes their way, however I’ll keep trying until I beat it. Personally I’m good at problem solving, innovative, and versatile. If I know what to do then I'll get the job
The primary reason I am applying to Molloy College is my desire to earn the education and qualifications in order to provide more involved care for my patients at work. I have known for some time that I have always wanted to be a nurse. Therefore, in April 2007 I enrolled in a program to become a certified nurse’s aide and earned my New York state certification in July 2007. I began working immediately at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in November 2007; I also began working in a hospital starting April 2015. Being employed at both facilities is what led me to fall in love with a career in nursing, all while allowing me to gain a wonderful amount of experience caring for a diverse population as well as working with a diverse population of health care professionals.
My perseverance has prepared me for a career in medicine. The path towards becoming a physician can be long and challenging, necessitating the ability to endure. My ability to bounce back from setbacks and mistakes has solidified throughout my journey. One of the cornerstone experiences of my personal development occurred during high school. My determination led to me my graduating as valedictorian of my class, while balancing three varsity sports and several extracurricular activities. In addition, I worked on weekends to help support my family financially. This persistence resulted in scholarship awards that made higher education a possibility.
This profession suits me well due to the fact that this profession requires a person who is sociable, empathetic and can handle adversity with positivity. Whoosh!A bed whizzed by, surrounded by about 6 medical personnel. “What’s going on?” I thought immediately with apprehension. I knew whatever was happening it was not ideal. Ensuring I was not in the way, I stood on my toes to see what demanded so much attention. To my astonishment, I saw a coin sized hot-pink little girl. She could not have been bigger than two quarters lying side by side. She was struggling! Even with all the procedures the doctors were executing to save her life, she was performing the most work.

I believe that I would be well suited for this position for various reasons. While working for the Department of Public Safety at Siena Heights University as a Dispatcher, I was promoted to be a Welcome Center Coordinator. As a Welcome Center Coordinator for the Department of Public Safety,I have been expected to be a leader to my other coworkers, helping them as needed, scheduling their hours, as well as evaluating their work. I have also been expected to recruit, and train new employees to ensure they can fulfill the demanding job requirements. I would be able to utilize this prior experience when working with the museum's volunteers. Other skills I have gained by working as a Dispatcher and a Welcome Center Coordinator are as follows: customer service, leadership, organization, time management, critical thinking, and computer skills. Another skill I am proud to have, is the ability to teach others. I worked for two years as a high school bowling coach at Sand Creek High School and as a History Tutor. In my time as a coach, I was expected to work with the youth and teach them the sport of bowling. During this time, I was able to work with a variety of students. For example, I had the pleasure of coaching both cognitively impaired, and foreign exchange students. These students allowed me to grow as a coach because I had to change my teaching style to ensure they learned the sport. As a tutor, I worked with my fellow students to ensure they understood the material covered in class, as well as help them formulate their

My decision to pursue a PhD is derived from my passion for science and engineering paired with my abilities in the field of machine learning and applied statistics. I consider myself fortunate to be part of the Department of Computer Science, University of Florida for my master studies. More importantly, I am glad to have two excellent professors in this field as advisors, Dr. Pader and Dr. Jilson, who are guiding me throughout my graduate studies. They assisted me to decide and pursue the courses and topics that interested me. During my first semester, I took the course Mathematical methods for Intelligent Systems that gave me a strong base for applied mathematics in the field of intelligent systems. Similarly, the research course Computational Neuroscience gave me an insight into applications of statistics, neural networks, and linear dynamical systems in a biological perspective.
