This film, released in 2014, features the story of a young Lego man, as ordinary as could be, on a quest to overthrow the tyranny of the evil Lord Business. While he’s at it, the Lego man, named Emmet, will begin to discover that the things that he thought made him ordinary are actually the very characteristics that are uniquely extraordinary. ...pple Inc. While this amount awarded to Apple Inc. was much less than they were going for it was also significantly lower than what Judge Koh vacated after the previous trial; that number being 400 million. This case was a very large win for Apple Inc. and their power in the electronics industry. This ruling was also a huge statement made in terms of patent infringement. As Colleen Allen said in an interview, “If we didn't award Apple much, we're saying it's OK to infringe patents”
Most people can remember playing with Legos at some point in their lives. From 1958-2013, 650 billion Lego bricks were manufactured and sold in 130 countries, making Legos one of the most popular childhood toys. In more recent years, with digital technology on the rise, Lego’s have a become popular subject in video games and movies. The Lego Movie was the first movie centered around Legos to use a fully CGI animation style. While The Lego Movie may at first appear to be an average children's movie, it's storyline goes much deeper than that most movies marketed primarily to families, allowing it to quickly become one of the most sold movies of 2014. Through the use of creative cinematography which helps reinforce the storyline, as well as an ingenious adaptation of an Orwellian society, based upon capitalist values and extreme conformity, The Lego Movie pushes a pro-libertarian, anti-capitalist message, hidden behind the innocent facade of children’s movie.

A monetary judgment of $10 million did not seem justifiable to me because I do not believe that Uzi Nissan should be punished as he registered his domain names first. However, after careful analysis, I realized that Uzi Nissan erred when he did not respond to the letter sent by the Lawyer representing Nissan Motor Co. A demand letter usually signifies the beginning of a lawsuit. This softball demand letter was not taken seriously by Uzi Nissan maybe due to its laidback nature. However, this would have cause Nissan Motor Co. money in regards to the legal and processing fees which are likely to increase dramatically in a lawsuit, (Smith&Hopen).
Top managers should be reminded that they are ultimately responsible for the quality of a product and the company. Quality management is one of the keys. By defining quality in operational terms, understanding the costs and benefits of quality, recognizing the consequences of poor quality, and recognizing the need for ethical behavior (Stevenson, 2012), will lead to a more productive operation. If Toys, Inc. specifically doesn’t want to hire additional positions to inspect quality they could outsource to a company such as SATRA whom from its website states, “SATRA can assess the risk of injury from a toy, as well as carry out analysis for the presence of restricted metals such as lead, chromium and mercury(2015).” Quality is the ability of a product or service to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations (Stevenson, 2012). Quality when it comes to manufacturing of toys especially those that have moving parts also brings in safety concerns. “Market watch officials and technological experts have warned parents to pay more attention to the quality of toys they purchase to better protect their children (Hazell, C 2011).” Parents will associate a poorly made toy, especially one that already knows that it’s poorly made by having a trade-in program as potentially dangerous for their son or daughter. Continuing to have customer dissatisfaction will further question the quality of our product and in turn the safety of our
Legos are the multi-colored blocks we used as children to build creations that were only limited by our imaginations. I remember adding to my multi-colored plastic sculptor, each block putting me one step closer to the final product. The process would always entail first setting up a strong foundation, and then creating structural support, while always having a plan in the back of my mind. The outcome of which, would tower above me; to think it all began with a single block. In many ways people are similar to Legos. We are the combination of our experiences, each adding to our personas, and shaping how we view the world. Also like Legos, to have a stable and functioning final product it must have a foundation, support and a plan. I was able to establish my foundation in high school.
