Life is stressful enough as it is. Tack on a crazy religious mother, telekinetic powers, and 9 years of traumatic bullying. The novel Carrie was written by an author that goes by the name of Stephen King. Bullying is a very serious problem. Most people don't expect revenge, but if it hits, and if it's coming from a girl with telepathic powers people better watch out. Carrie is a high school senior that resides within a small town called Chamberlain, Maine. Stephen King’s horror novel Carrie disturbs the mind as to her telepathic revenge on bullying.

Experts have found three types of bully prey “The third group is known as bully victims. These are people who tend to have the most serious psychological problems as kids.” (Bullying’s Effects). Carrie white was one of those select people who are taunted, laughed at, made the joke of, and jeered. Years of Carrie’s life had been spent in this Hell of jokes and games. Eventually those who suffer from this sort of psychological distress tend to have a cognitive fracture. The person who received this trauma happened to have telekinetic powers which is a buffet for a horror novelist to consume.
Bullying paired with telepathic ability is a mighty horror cocktail of fear and suspense. This particular novel by King makes one shudder with the detail put into this incomprehensible story. This novel shows no probability of being real, but the details force the mind to believe it is. Critics have stated “One novelistic terror of the collapse of reason” (Carrie, Book and Film). This was said because of how the novel bends the thought of how a young innocent 17 year old girl could cause so much damage with a supernatural ability. Carrie has ensnared Sue Snell in her telepathic mind “Now the girls throwing sanitary napkins, chanting, laughing, sue’s face mirrored in her own mind: ugly, caricatured, all mouth, cruelly beautiful.” (King, 239) Carrie has replaced herself with Sue to show her what these years of torment feel like. Carrie was a disaster from birth she was not going to have a chance in life where it be later or earlier. Starting out at a disadvantage of having a psychotic mother she also had to deal with being the outcast of her school.
