Archetype Pre-Writing The meaning of archetype that is identified by Carl Jung is “a tendency all human begins have to form mythological images and motifs.” The archetype that stands out the most to me is “The Initiates“. Without knowing the meaning of this word, the most catchy part of this word is that it is similar to the “initial” which means first or beginning. As I dig more into the word, it means to cause a new beginning that requires training and overcoming challenges to reach a certain goal. This word is meaningful in many content to me because I am currently experiencing something that is new. High school, which is a new beginning is one of the many changes that I face in my life. In this stage, I will experience many hardships and challenges in order to achieve what I want. The character that usually shows this archetype is the main hero that endures some sort of hardship and challenges to complete their quest. After this stage of hardship, the character will usually achieve a greater thing in their life other than their goal that they tried to complete. Also, they are innocent and naive before moving to this change in their life. In addition to this, it is very essential for reader to understand that the characters are undergoing this stage and showing this archetype because this contributes to the overall plot and the conflicts that are made to achieve this character's goal. Without recognizing this example of archetype, the reader might not fully understand the reason in which why the characters are trying to achieve what they want by undergoing all the hardships that they are
