But besides the obvious, there are many lesser-known instances where animation is used. “I grew up thinking that animators all worked for a movie studio or cartoon show studios, and it is simply not the case,” says Jordyn Bowers, 3D Animator for InventHelp.“Animators are everywhere,” Bowers explains. “Animators do commercials, motion graphics, special effects, advertisements on the internet, medical explanations, recreating crime scenes for forensics … there are too many to list!”One of Bowers’ roles is to create videos of 3D renderings and computer-generated animation to illustrate the main function of an invention idea. Edwin Powell Hubble was born on the 20th of November in 1889. He lived in Marshfield, Missouri along with his family. He was said to be a very tall, elegant, and athletic young man. Edwin had a mom, dad, three sisters, and two brothers. His mom and dad were named John Powell and Virginia James Hubble. His sisters were Virginia, Helen, and Lucy Lee. Edwin's two brothers were named Henry and William. William died as a student at a college in Wisconsin and Virginia died when she was a very young girl.

Digital film technology is the latest and probably most revolutionizing new technology to hit Hollywood. The use of digital film allows for infinite editing capabilities and endless benefits to distribution and special effects. The use of digital film allows for producers to add in extras, produce stunts, and even create false people with the click of a mouse. Time and cost consuming stunts, stunt doubles, and actors may no longer be a worthy concern to producers and their budgets. When I was in elementary school, my dad would often begin the perfect Sunday experience this way, and I would dash out of my room, hop onto the sofa, and curl myself around my father’s round belly. On one of these days in particular, we watched Miyazaki’s My Neighbor Totoro (1988). The few things I still remember about the movie are the huge, puffy, and eccentrically adorable forest spirit Totoro – with his eyes staring nowhere – and my dad’s warm and soft stomach covered by a wool sweater of exactly the same shade of gray as Totoro’s fur.

Animation is a visual technique that creates the illusion of motion, rather than recording motion through live action. The technique is used mainly for motion pictures. Animation can be created by illustrators, filmmakers, video makers, and computer specialists. Animation is most popular in creating cartoon movies. Advertisers also employ animation to develop commercials for television. In addition, producers of instructional films may use animation to help explain a difficult idea or one that could not be shown in live action. Animation can also be combined with live action in a movie. Many animators continue to make many drawings by hand. Since the mid-1980's, however, computer assistance combined with hand-drawn animation has become standard in many movie studios. These methods created such feature-length animated films as The Lion King (1994) and The Prince of Egypt (1998).
In this chapter, it has shown a brief history of animation and how it started in the early days of animation. It also discussed about 2D in brief and 3D. Also the techniques applied in making of animation since early ages with the evolution of 2D to 3D animation.
