As the doors of our space capsule closed, my 10-year-old imagination opened. Suddenly, I was aboard the X-2 Deep Space Shuttle preparing to depart Earth for a once in a lifetime journey to the Red Planet. Mission Space at Epcot brought my sci-fi daydreams and drawings to life. After returning to Earth, I pondered, “ Who were the creative minds that put figments of my imagination in front of my eyes?” Later that afternoon as my family explored a Disney bookstore, the answer appeared on a book entitled “Disney Imagineering”. Imagineers are a remarkable group of talented artists and engineers carefully selected by Disney. They combine their extraordinary imaginations and artistic abilities to bring life to characters and experiences most people can …show more content…
only dream about. At that moment, I challenged myself to explore and expand my creative talent so I could one day join this gifted group of creative minds. A pencil and a sketchbook usually accompanied me wherever I went as a child. Whether I was sitting in class, church, or the car, my hands were usually busy creating a new character or developing a storyline. Friends call me an artist because of my love of drawing, however, I have never really used that term to describe myself. Drawing has always been a part of who I am and has acted as an extension of my creativity. Early on, I never considered drawing as a way to make a living. But as I have grown older, God has shown me that He has given me my abilities and I should not waste them. So with His help, I intend to pursue my dream of using art to entertain and inspire people of all ages. Making my dream a reality will first require extensive training at a top-notch university offering a degree in Graphic Design. Last year, I began researching universities that offer my chosen major. About the same time, I was selected to attend the Alabama Governor’s School at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. The Alabama Governor’s School is a 13-day residential program that gives gifted rising high school seniors an opportunity to explore their interest in academic, creative and leadership fields. Without being given this opportunity, Samford University would not have made my college list, let alone be my top choice. Samford University is one of the few colleges that offers a stand alone degree in Graphic Design, which would allow me to focus exclusively on classes that would be beneficial to my career. After touring Samford and its art department, all the other college tours did not live up to its high standards. Another important aspect of my decision to attend Samford University is its faith based programs.
While other colleges tend to focus on sports and extracurricular programs, Samford is a Christian university whose focus is on helping students to grow in their walk with Christ. Multiple opportunities exist to serve in churches and the surrounding community. Whether attending governor's school, or touring the graphic design department, I have felt at home on Samford's campus. I sense God's presence each time I visit and I want to be a part of the experience. The famous joke,”How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” could also apply to becoming a renowned graphic designer. The key is practice, practice, practice. A few months ago, I emailed Don Howard, a former Disney Imagineer and owner of Don Howard Studios in Huntsville, Alabama. I wrote to Mr. Howard seeking advice on the steps I needed to take to have a successful career. His advice was simple, obtain your degree and draw something everyday. Whenever a creative idea crosses my mind, I begin the search for one of my many sketch books to capture my thought on paper. Several of my witty ideas end up on T-shirts that I sell on the website Redbubble.com. I’m flattered when asked to design posters, postcards and T-shirts for church events and school
clubs. Besides my professional goal of becoming a successful creative artist, several personal ambitions rank at the top of my list of how I intend to live a life of meaning and value. Living a life of worth is not about how much money you have or the number of awards hanging on your wall. To me, it’s about living a life in service to God and others. Some of the richest people I know only have a few dollars in their bank account. Their happiness comes from faith in God, a loving family and finding joy in things that money cannot buy. Family is important on the road to a happy and fulfilling life. Career success means nothing if there is no one to share in your accomplishments. I pray God leads me to find a Christian wife and we will be blessed with children. Raising my children to be responsible, hard-working adults who love God and others would be an award in itself. I have one life to live and I’m determined that to make the years I have been given to have meaning and purpose. With hard work, perseverance and God’s guidance, I am sure the miles ahead will be an unforgettable journey.

Are you headed in the right direction? I’m talking about your career. Are you where you want to be? The truth is, real life has hit us faster than a moving train. We are now pursuing a career that we find enjoyable and profitable. Although we have each chosen our career path, some of us don’t have such a clear view of where we are headed. As students and aspiring designers, we must look at others and study what they have gone through to be successful. I, for example, look up to Shepard Fairey who in my eyes is the Andy Warhol of our generation. This man, ladies and gentlemen, has persevered to be where he is now. He is the flame that ignites my drive to preserve and succeed as well.
We’ve all heard of Disney. Weather that be Disneyland, DisneyWorld, Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse, or even Disney movies. Disney is such a household name around the world, but especially in American culture. However, there was a time when the name “Disney” meant nothing to nobody. From Walt Disney’s early life in a series of small towns, to creating the Disney brand, and finally Disney animation as we know it today, Disney became one of the largest franchises in the world.
I interviewed Eric Kriemelmeyer, the owner of FASTSIGNS Waldorf (11750 S Business Park Rd Ste 105, Waldorf, MD 20601, (301) 392-1131). Graphic designers are visual communicators. Graphic designers often gain their initial experience through internships which provide opportunities to work with designers and experience the design
Matthew, Disney has always been in the forefront of cartoon animation since the early 1900 and to make their animation come to life Disney has created their theme parks (Bert, 2013). Disney’s dream has always been to create that happiest place on earth for children and adults of all ages (Bert, 2013). Disney’s mission has always been placed on innovation, support, education, and entertainment (Bert, 2013). Disney University is the starting point were all future workers of the theme pack go to receive training before starting work, even ticket takers (Bert, 2013). Disney has a greater opportunity as a larger-scale organization for specialization and division of labor (Thomas & Maurice, 2010).
Vision and mission statements fulfill two separate purposes in an organization. The vision statement is inspiring, long term and emotionally driven. It assists employees in understanding their work and helps accomplish the organizational goals. It is brief and easy for employees to repeat. They should be simple, short and direct (Argosy University Online, 2016). Disneyland’s vision statement is “To be the happiest place on Earth.” Forbes vision statement is “Be visionary. Think big.” These vision statements are both broad and can last for generations (Cascio, 2013). Disneyland’s business is entertainment; therefore their vision statement reflects their goals which revolves around entertaining people. Forbes is
A friend was the one who first got him interested in skateboard graphics, he first worked in the BMX industry after graduating with a design degree from UCLA. He was fortunate enough to not have to do any self-promotion after college and kind of "fell into" the job he has now. His official title is Art Director, according to him that’s what his card says. He over sees five other artists at World Industries that produce skateboard and snowboard graphics. He didn’t want to give any advice, he said "didn’t like doing it" and had nothing more to say about it.

Prior to 2010, when photography became my full-time endeavor, my graphical art design was commissioned by Universal, Warner Brothers, Nike, and several additional large corporations.
During my whole life and experience I have been interested in the Art, Creativity, and I have been traveling around Graphics Designing. When I go out to centres, supermarkets, the high streets around Kingston anywhere in London, Germany and other parts of Europe which I have seen. I have seen lots of Graphics designs in advertising, Billboards companies for example in electronical products or any type of product the graphics advertising companies running around the world, just because of that I was inspired in the graphics designing and I was influence by the subject.
Over most of the last century, Disney animation has transformed through many different eras. Some people claim there have been nine eras, some people claim there have been seven, others focus on the changes at large and only see two or three eras. Regardless, there has been an undeniable change. Some of the eras have even repeated themselves; Disney animation has gone through traditional eras, dark ages, and renaissance eras multiple times. The call for each of these eras has not come without need. Whether it be the needs of the children’s generation at the time or current events, Disney animation has changed. However, the question is: Did Disney Animation shape history in the United States or did history shape Disney animation?
